MY REVIEW: Well, haven't been in two years and nothing has changed; it is still overpriced and horrible. Yes, seated at a teppanyaki table that wasn't fully cleaned. Smelled like a dirty dish towel too. Food wise: over cooked chicken, burned veggies, and undercooked rice. Okay, so I go here not expecting much food wise, but rather expecting of decent chef show for my daughters birthday. Talk about disinterested, unfriendly, and definitely not a functioning chef, we endured the meal which cost me $20 per person. My middle school children and their friends even recognized all of the above.
Why people of Cypress, which I realize are not foodies for the most part, actually continue to patronize this place is just crazy.
Never again.

MY REVIEW: First (and last) visit because: Tho' the strong point was the attentive staff, the food was not. I asked that my scallops be cooked light but they were instead overcooked and served "rubbery". My daughter said that her plate (shrimp and chix) was greasy.

MY REVIEW: I'm sorry to say that today was my last day dining at any Shogun Sushi location. I have had two occurrences at two separate locations (Vintage and Spring locations) where the waitstaff has cheated me out of my change informing me that they do not carry exact change and so they will just round down. When I asked her if this was restaurant policy she said it was not policy but admitted that this is common practice of the staff. I told her that I do not come into the restaurant and tell them that because I don't have exact change I am not going to be able to pay my bill in full so I do not expect that treatment in my change. Sorry Shogun. This is not acceptable practice in my book and I won't return.

MY REVIEW: Mismanaged and Disorganized! "Spring Texas"
My group reserved a Hibachi table for 7pm for Mother's Day at the 2920/Kuykendahl Spring, TX location, walked in and was asked to wait a "few minutes", which then turned into 15 minutes.
During this time my mother whom is handicapped had to wait standing up. We then asked how much longer and the manager smirked and said "the group that was just seated does not want anyone sitting next to them" and we were shocked especially for a Saturday night and having reservations, which we did not understand. We hesitated to ask how much longer now? Manager replied with an unsure answer of it will be 20 minutes more.. which we knew was going to be longer.
With disappointment and frustration we finally walked out. We could not believe the mismanaged and unprofessional service that was given to us from a supposedly "highly" rated restaurant. Thumbs down!

MY REVIEW: This will be the last time we go there. Seems like they have changed managers or just don't care any more. Last 2 times we went, tables we sat at smelled sour from dirty dishrags, jus 2 waiter for entire dining room, and only 1 busboy. Food was ok if you like nats flying with it. Sad, used to be a great place.

MY REVIEW: Strong Point: The atmosphere was really, really nice, compared to some other Japanese restaurants I've been to. We (like everyone else) were seated immediately.
Weak Point: I noticed that our waiter, after having waited on us, went to the bar to watch TV with another co-worker. Now, if it was me, I don't think I would be doing this as it looks very unprofessional.
The food was wonderful!!
I would go back and try again and see what happens. Another point I'll make; I like the fact that they actually had pictures of the Sushi before you order it so you could see what you were ordering. That was nice.

MY REVIEW: HORRIBLE customer service skills..This is the last time I visit this mediocre sushi bar.We were sat down instantly (Since the place was nearly empty at peek Friday hours). This was the only strong point of the last evening at shogun. After we sat down and after 15 minutes had to walk out because not even our drink order was taken....Best part is the place was not even that busy for a Friday night!!! Very unprofessional...As we were leaving the host thought we were done eating and was telling us "Have a good night". Epic.... This is not the first time we went to this place and previous visits noticed they skimped on the amount of fish served in their rolls. Not worth it folks...........They need to learn how to value customers that actually tip 30%+ better...You lost this one.....

MY REVIEW: I visited on 8/11 at about 7:30pm, mediocre waiter and bartender. Ordered drinks for myself and family but mine came only after asking the waiter twice. Because the waiter forgot, got too busy....my drink came watered down, due to the ice melting. When asked for a new one (Double Scotch over ice) the bartender sent me a drink with too tiny peices of ice floating back. I immediately sent it back and cancelled my entire order. I work too hard to spend my money for crap service and a smart assed / mediocre bartender. I won't be back again and will discourage anyone from visiting Shogun at Vintage Park.

MY REVIEW: 3/5 stars - It was OKAY, been to better places. The food was covered with too much soy sauce and the water tasted like chlorine. We ordered hot tea because it was freezing in the restaurant, but the tea tasted like chlorine too. We told the waiter that the food was good but the water and tea tasted like chlorine tap water. She didn't give us better water and charged us for the tea that we couldn't drink. Then charged us a mandatory 18% tip for a group of 4 adults + one child. The fact that they didn't help us resolve the water and tea issue is bad service.

MY REVIEW: Great place, a true treasure in Pearland Town Center. Their bento boxes are superb. Lunch is plentiful and reasonably priced. Service is terrific. Ambiance is relaxing and cozy. My wife and I love this place. Definitely we'll be back to try their hibachi chef.

MY REVIEW: We visited Shogun after it recently opened here in the Pearland Town Center. It has a nice little layout and the open patio is fun. However the hibachi seating is limited, the sushi is standard, and the roll offerings are not impressive. Our meal was decent but not outstanding. It doesn't offer anything more than the S*akura that was already here across the street. I would recommend it to someone staying in the PTC.

MY REVIEW: If possible, head to the grill in the back; you'll stay entertained & won't realize as much that the wait staff needs help refilling drinks. Chicken tepanyaki, fried veggie egg rolls & fried rice are consistently good. Salad greens are always fresh, but they like to water down the dressing sometimes. ??? Skip the soup.

MY REVIEW: We love this place. Baytown is not known for great food...and certainly not sushi. We are so excited to have a good sushi place...and love the habachi grill, too. This place is dependable, clean, friendly - and you don't really have to go to Houston for sushi after all.
