MY REVIEW: I was disappointed our first visit, however during the hurricane recovery Chatter's was open so we decided to try them again. Our opinion changed for the better! Service was very attentive but not intrusive. Food was delicious. Even the manager stopped by to check on us. She helped us choose a wine and was patient with all of our questions. You can tell the staff enjoys working there. I would definately recommend this place to friends. Everyone has their bad days. I am guessing our first experience was just that, but we will now make Chatter's our regular spot.

MY REVIEW: This was a very nice lunch experience. I'm always looking for new restaurants to visit and we were not disappointed with this experiment. My husband had the turkey club with fries and I had the Tokyo Wrap with Greek salad. The wrap was a little bland, but still a very good lunch overall. We also enjoyed the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely go back!

MY REVIEW: This was our first visit to Chatters and we can't wait to go back. We met another couple for dinner and the light, airy restaurant was quiet enough we could hear each other, but lifely enough to feel like a night out on the town. The service was pleasant and attentive without being pushy. The wine list was extensive and the food was delightful. I highly recommend the Tango appetizer. Along with a small greek salad, it makes a perfect meal. My husband opted for one of the chicken dishes and it too, was tasty. Next time, I'm going for the gyors. They smelled fantastic!

MY REVIEW: The food was great. There were four of us and there were no complaints. I had the gyros platter and the mixed grilled vegetables were just as advertised. They were slightly crisp - not mostly raw and seasoned perfectly. The appetizer platters are not to be missed. The service was exceptional and the manager stopped by to make sure everything was satisfactory.

MY REVIEW: I would have to say that Chatters is a great place for almost any occasion. My friends and I frequently visit for a casual lunch or for a bottle of wine in the evening. We have even had a few birthday parties there. They have something for everyone on the menu. Every time I visit I try something new! They have just redone the menu which is great! Dinner is a complete transformation. They have a very extensive wine and beer list (no hard liquor). They offer a great selection of wines by the glass and lots of imported beers. Sometimes an appetizer (I like the new one called "Tango" it samples their hummus which is the best in the city and an artichoke and feta dip yum or the Fruit & Cheese)and a bottle of wine is all you need. They even have a few "Flights" so you can try a taste of three different wines! Candles on the tables at dinner makes for a romantic feel. Service is always pleasant and the servers never crowd you. Inexpensive fabulous food...this is our favorite hangout. There is a wrap around patio if its a beautiful day. Check it out for yourself. Might be your new favorite spot!

MY REVIEW: We're in the neighborhood and eat at Chatters at least weekly. The burgers are the only thing I've had on the menu that is ordinary but there are so many places in town with great burgers and such a wonderful selection of other items at Chatters that there's no reason to get "just a burger". The other food is excellent. I've taken several friends there and have made loyal customers out of them as well. It's nice that you can get something lite or a full pasta or fish meal - something for everyone. The service has always been friendly and attentive - the atmosphere warm and comfortable. We will continue to enjoy Chatters!

MY REVIEW: The food is ok/good. Service has been hit or miss, sometimes the waiter is on the ball other times he/she has been quite indifferent. The red wine is served too warm but they have a nice little wine list and selections by the glass. It is a good place for a relatively quick meal and a relaxed atmosphere.

MY REVIEW: I went to Chatter's on the recommendation of a friend and was sorely disappointed. While the service was friendly and the patio dining a plus, the food was sub-par. I had the eggplant parmesan which came with a side of veggies and pasta. The pasta was overdone and the eggplant was swimming in cheese; it's all I could taste. My friend had the salmon and was disappointed as well--it too was overcooked and had a strong fish taste.
Based on other reviews, maybe we order the wrong dishes, but at this point, I'm not willing to give Chatter's a second chance.

MY REVIEW: I eat at Chatter's pretty much every week. I am a restaurant/service snob, and the week I first ate at this restaurant, I came 3 more times that same week. It's a great location, has great service, the food is fresh, delicious, and can be prepared any way you like. They also have delivery and take out. The dress is casual (My friends & I often stop by after our workouts) to dressy (or before a night on the town)...
My absolute favorite thing on the menu is the Smoked Turkey on Ciabatta sandwich (no mayo) with fresh fruit. Prepared with fresh smoked turkey, provolone cheese, avocado, tomato, & lettuce, it is my favorite sandwich in town. As with all of their sandwiches, it's available with a fruit, chips, or pasta salad. I also really like the Golden Chicken Kabobs, fresh Tilapia (when it's a special), and last but not least - their pita bread is OH MY GOD good. My fiance' loves their beef kabobs, and their salads. The entrees come with your choice of pita or garlic bread (get the pita), and a house salad.
The restaurant is situated in an old house with a gorgeous view of the downtown skyline. There is plenty of seating inside and they have a large patio area with plenty of seating. I've never had to wait for a table, even on the weekend nights when it looks super crowded! They have valet parking on the weekends, but there's usually parking nearby on the street.

MY REVIEW: This was my first experience dining at Chatters, and I am sad to say, it will be my last.
From the very beginning, I was disappointed and under-whelmed. The experience began with a waiter who was generally disinterested and unpleasant. As a group we chose to order the fried mozzarella and the humus. Based on the appearance of the restaurant and the overall menu, I expected more. The cheese was a frozen item versus a homemade version and the humus was runny, buried under tomatoes and covered with some shredded greenery.
For my entrée, I chose the lamb chops. When I placed my order, the waiter asked how I would like for my “beef” to be prepared. An honest mistake, possibly, but still irritating. I asked for the lamb to be prepared medium rare, and once it arrived it was more or less medium well. I also believe that the lamb was of substandard quality due to the flavor. The mashed potatoes were lacking in substance and real flavor and required salt.
The concept was nice, as was the location and atmosphere. Get a different waiter and catch the chef on a better night, and the experience might be better.

MY REVIEW: I'm generally not a fan of sandwiches, and I'm definitely not a vegetarian, but for the second time in 3 weeks, I just had the best vegetarian sandwich -- and one of the best sandwiches in general -- at Chatter's. It was a (roasted) eggplant & red pepper, plus pasta salad, I think they call it the "Roma." I'm also a fan of good tea, and while I usually prefer sweet tea, I didn't sugar up the black currant iced tea because the tea was so tasty itself, and just ever so slightly sweet. I love the big giant glasses they bring the drinks in; it makes me less irritated with slow service. We sat outside on an apparently new part of their patio, and the wait staff was a little slow in acknowledging our presence after the hostess seated us, but were prompt once they found us. Not my favorite atmosphere in a restaurant inside (kind of library-ish; sit outside if you can), and the portions aren't giant (I'm a fairly big guy & am accustomed to that in restaurants), but the one thing I've had there (this sandwich) was really good. I did notice on their menu that all the sandwiches seemed to be under $10, and their entrees under $15. This isn't a place I'll go once a week or even once a month, but it's worth a visit. I think it's still figuring out its place in the Houston restaurant world.

MY REVIEW: Our senior adult group frequently enjoys dining out. We travel with canes, walkers and wheelchairs--which are not always "warmly" welcomed at some restaurants. After a dining experience, our group rates the restaurant. This week we tried Chatter's.
SERVICE: Attentive and great staff! Our waiter was one of the best we have experienced in Houston in quite a while. We appreciated his patience and professionalism. The owner made it a point to visit our table several times.
FOOD: Our group tried a wide variety from the menu. Everyone was very pleased with their choices.
ACCESSIBLITY FOR DISABLED: Excellent!
OTHER: We will be returning with our friends, families and business associates.

MY REVIEW: We came here for brunch today and, judging from some of the reviews below, were expecting great things. Sadly, those expectations were not met. The salads - we had a beef tenderloin cobb salad and a Pacific Rim caesar at our table - were bland and uninspired. (And they left the avocado off of my salad; I had to flag down a server to have some brought to me.) One of us had the Philly Cheesesteak, which was ho-hum, and another had the gyros and he thought the same thing. The worst part was the service. Our waiter was extremely slow and disappeared for long periods. He brought the basket of pita bread only after we had almost finished our meals, and charged me for a more expensive glass of wine when I ordered the house cabernet (not very good).
It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the patio seating, and judging by the many other patrons this place must be doing something right... they just didn't do it to us. A thoroughly average dining experience; we certainly aren't in a big hurry to return.

MY REVIEW: This is the place to go if you want a beatifully appointed restaurant with good food! We were most impressed. We had the fried veggies appetizer, which was not very good, though. It seemed to be straight from S*ysco's freezer, with a soupy, salad dressing-type sauce. The entrees and desserts, though, were quite good. All in all, it was a lovely night in a lovely place. Kudos to the friendly staff!

MY REVIEW: Met some friends for lunch there. I was amazed at how well they had converted the old S*tar Pizza. The restaurant looked great. The menu has a wide variety and the prices are reasonable. Best of all, the food was very good. The service was attentive but not overbearing. All in all a great place and I will go back for lunch and try for dinner. Once it cools down it might even be nice to sit on the patio. Give it a shot!

MY REVIEW: My co-workers decided to have our staff lunch at Chatter's a few weeks ago, and I've been a regular ever since. In fact, I ordered lunch/dinner from Chatter's four times in one week; it's just that good! I tend to get the same meal, the Baja Chicken Pita with a fruit salad. It's delicious! The chicken is tender and moist, the avocado is fresh and not overripe, the pita is warm and soft, and the light mayo spread is even better than the high-calorie, real thing. You will not be disappointed.

MY REVIEW: Every time I have eaten here, it has always surprised me because the food is so varied, but delicious. The prices are very reasonable and the last time I went it was for a work-related get-together. The staff was very accomodating and even split the checks without getting annoyed. We were served at a large table, all together, off to the side and all of my colleagues were happy. The other times I have been I was accompanied by friends either for a glass of wine and some appetizers or a full meal and I will continue to be a patron. Try it!

MY REVIEW: I love this restaurant! I've never written a review before but I had to for this one. I went twice last week (Mother's Day included) and the staff is so polite with a genuine smile on their faces. I've sat outside on a nice day and inside on a not so nice day and enjoyed both very much. The colors and ambience are nice and not overbearing. It really does feel like you are in your own dining room. The food selection is varied with burgers, salads, pitas, etc. The St. George Chicken is great! My favorite part was the mission where it states they go for a healthy style. You can definitely tell when you get your food. Don't worry, it has plenty of flavor!! It is my new favorite restaurant. Prices are great esp for the service and food.

MY REVIEW: Chatter's is a good bistro. The only problem with this restaurant is that it's extremely noisy when it's packed at night and that the portions are small. My table of 6 people finished their food easily and fast although we all enjoyed the quality very much. I had the beef kabob and that was delicious and my brother had the tilapia special and he enjoyed it as well. I've heard good compliments about the salad as well (and the salad was of a bigger portion).

MY REVIEW: I didn't know Chatter's existed until I got a coupon in the mail. I thought I'd give it a try since it was in my neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised! I was quite impressed with the Gyro plate and my brother was equally delighted with his chicken & saffron entree. I will definitely come again and bring along my friends. Parking was great. Staff was friendly but not obtrusive. I did notice that the restaurant dine in menu had few choices than the To Go menu. Two thumbs up!!

MY REVIEW: We've become regulars. Food is great and so is the service - and reasonably priced. You can actually carry on a conversation, since most of the time the background music is soft and semi-classical.
