MY REVIEW: From the outside, the Fulshear location looks nothing special - the windows are all blacked out, so when I went in, I was expecting a pokey room with a few cheap tables and chairs. On the contrary! It is a medium sized restaurant, with several rooms. We were greeted by our server who was friendly and kept our drinks topped up. I had the plain hamburger which was very nice - the burger meat was cooked well (not burnt or chewy, but not too rare either), and importantly, the burger was not dripping in fat or grease as so many other burgers at restaurants and fast food establishments are. The meal, which included french fries came to just under $7. I think this is very reasonable. I will absolutley be going back! Really, I have no negative things to say...my co-worker who joined me told me that the last time she ate there the service was slow, but the time I went it was actually very quick, so I cannot complain.

MY REVIEW: We used to go there a lot and, although the service is not reliable, the food is pretty good and it is easy to get there. The last couple of times we went late on Saturday night and they had the back part closed and had the rest of the customers in the main area. They stared cleaning in the back with clorox (mop) and eating and smelling cleaners is not a great experience. The first time it happened I told the owner and he couldn't quite figure out what my problem was. I told my husband we would give it another try and they did it again. I have not eaten there in almost 2 months and if we go in the future, I will pick up the order.

MY REVIEW: Saturday at 5:30 pm - was only table in the restaurant. 3 folks ordered prime rib, 1 steak, 1 kids hamburger and 1 chicken fried steak. Took 30 minutes at least to get entrees. The food was ok...it wasn't great and wasn't even at the level of the original location but the shocking thing was how long it took to get it with NO ONE ELSE in the restaurant when we ordered. I guess had the place been slammed I wouldn't have been fussed. Maybe they are just getting the bugs out and things will improve.

Sure was disappointed considering the other location is pretty reliably consistent.

MY REVIEW: My family and I really enjoy our visits to the new location on FM 1093, a few hundred yards east of Fulshear. The staff is excellent and the food always good. The chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak, 24 oz porterhouse, chicken tacos, the jalapeno (burgers are charbroiled) burger, pit prime rib and hamburger steak are all items I have tried. Each were great! My kids ask me almost everyday, "Can we please go to Texas Tradition for dinner, Dad?"

MY REVIEW: Wonderful down home atmosphere with good home style food. I have tried "almost" everything on the menu and have no complaints at all. The Texas Tuna sandwich is by far my favorite and their fries are always cooked exactly right. The chicken sandwich is so huge you'd have to be starving to eat it all, AND their tea is always fresh. Friendly service with a smile.

MY REVIEW: Understaffed poor service. We waited a very long time to be seated, the drinks were served, but the waitress (the same person who seated us and got our drinks) never came back to take our order. 2 other families came in after us, were seated, given drinks, and had their orders taken to the kitchen by the same person who seated us. After at least 20 minutes, we gave up and left. We instead went over to P*addy's Grill on Mason Rd., were served drinks and our order was taken immediately, the food was out to us in a reasonable time, and had a great experience. We'll be back to P*addy's. We will not return to Texas Tradition.

MY REVIEW: My husband and myself have been trying out new restaurant since moving here from Dallas in Aug. We both enjoyed Texas Tradition and will be back. The service was friendly and attentive. We both ordered the chicken fried steak, it was great! The sides and Texas toast was delicious. Our friends ordered a burger which she said was really good and her little boy got the grilled cheese, it looked good. Next time I think we will try the Frito pie! A nice down home place with good home cooking.

MY REVIEW: Oh my gosh. Thank you DMP for saying it was the best chicken fried steak in Katy. Tonight was our first visit. We split the large chicken fried steak w/ cream gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, texas toast and a salad. Wow! We couldn't have been more pleased. Our toddler even ate some of everything it was so good. We'll definitely be eating there at least twice a month from now on. We asked about desserts and the cream pies are homemade. We'll definitely make room for that next time. Also, we saw other's dinners. The chopped steak is definitely in the running for next time's dinner.

MY REVIEW: Great place! Great value - LARGE chicken fried steak, potato, veggie, salad & great TX toast all for $10.95. Not the frozen junk either - all homemade. There's even chunks of potato in the mashed potatoes!! Very clean - great service! Family friendly.

MY REVIEW: This restaurant in Katy is simply amazing. If you like good, down home food, service and tradition - this is the place. Homemade burger buns, breads, pies made on site - it just doesn't get much better than this. Love those GIANT onion rings - made fresh. This Oregonian loves Texas Traditions!

MY REVIEW: i absolutely think that this is a hot spot for eating in katy. their chicken fried steak is out of this world. they built a play spot for the kids so me and my friends could have an enjoyable evening out and not worry about the children. this is a very fabulous resturant and it is a family and fun atmosphere. the cooking is just like out of grandma's kitchen. i love it!!!

MY REVIEW: Ate there AGAIN for the catfish and it was GREAT. One of the best if not the best in Katy to eat. Large portions and great flavor. Music is still a little too loud on Friday and Saturady night.

MY REVIEW: Good home cooked food at a reasonable price. Never had a bad experience. The catfish special on Fridays is great the chicken fried steak is the best around and the burgers are awesome. The Prime rib is also very good when available. Live music on Friday and Saturday is a little to loud though.
