MY REVIEW: Strong points: great seafoods with very reasonable price and large quantity. I had 1 crab cake, crab bisque and Snaper Artichoke. My husband got snapper poblano. They are all tasty and yummy....

Weak points: (1)locates right at the corner of busy W. Belfort and Wilcrest junction - so, guests easily by-pass it. (2)family running business so they don't hire many staff. We have to find the table ourselves then wait for more than 7 min. to have a girl to come asking for drink and giving us menu...

Highly recommend because of high quality, tasty food.

MY REVIEW: If you want really good Cajun style seafood, at a very reasonable price, you have just found the best place is Southwest Houston. This is a small family operated café and they take the time ensure that their food is prepared for a passionate person. My last visit to Lafayette’s was in 2006 and it was every bit as tasty tonight as I remember it 4 years ago. I had the snapper gourmet, grilled snapper with a lobster sauce and sautéed shrimp, crawfish and mushrooms. Mmmm! I’ll be writing more reviews in the future when I get to try some of the dishes some of the other reviews have mentioned.

MY REVIEW: I have never had better seafood. My favorites include the crabcakes, stuffed shrimp and stuffed flounder. And all this for half the price of any other seafood place. It's not the nicest building in a nice part of town, but you can't find food any better for the price.

Also the owner is always there to make sure everything was made exactly how you like it.

MY REVIEW: We just had a family birthday dinner at Lafayette with out of town guests --- the best food in town!! All of the specialty fish dishes are superb; I had shrimp and crab cakes. The owner is very friendly as he usually visits with customers if he gets a few extra minutes. Quality is always consistent.

MY REVIEW: I absolutely love this place! The shrimp gumbo & dirty rice is outstanding! I'm a real big shrimp gumbo fan so I make it a point to try where ever available & it was so delicious, best yet! I love the atmosphere, feels very home like & the people were very friendly. I even met the cook! I was in Houstn for a week on business & could say I probably had lunch there 4 out of 7 days I was in town. I am defintely going to be eating there whenever I am back in the Houston area. Hopefully sooner than later!

MY REVIEW: This small family restaurant has some of the best seafood in the Houston area. My entire family loves it. The Pontchartrain dish is wonderful and so are the Crab cakes, the Fondue is great, the Gumbo is very good. I haven't tried anything that I didn't like and the prices are very reasonable. Oh yeah and the Po-boys are great too. I love this place. I try to go at least once a month. And, the catered at my job once everyone loved it and they gave us a great deal!

MY REVIEW: I eatb here all the time. This place has the best seafood in town. It is true cajun food. It is not uncommmon to here people ranting and raving in the parking lot about how good the food is and as a regular customer I have to agree. I also highly reccomend the Mexican Shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. The main courses are all delicious and the service is great.

MY REVIEW: Excellent food , cheap prices! the service for my take out was to slow... they seem to take better care of the customers they know better . the main guy was talking to people at a table , saw me standing there and still proceeded to talk to the table for another 5 minutes. i was the only other person in the resturaunt at the time and i made eye contact with them so i knew that i was noticed. treat the people you dont know as well as you treat the ones you do . they also pay the bills and probably will return . the food was worth the wait and i will be back to see them again .

MY REVIEW: This was my first time visiting this place and it was pretty pleasant. I ordered the jumbo shrimp with french fries, which was descent. It's not the best, but its not bad either. Maybe in the future i'll try other dishes.

I recommend this place to any seafood enthusiast.

MY REVIEW: This is absolutely one of the best seafood restaurants in the Houston area. We even tried "fried alligator and oysters" combo -- really good. They give big portions, great selections. One of these days I am going to try one of their yummy desserts. The owner is friendly -- he always makes the rounds to make sure your order was cooked to perfection.

MY REVIEW: Excellent seafood. I haven't tried a thing that I would not recommend or re-order. Service may be a bit slow but it's certainly worth the short wait. Very reasonable prices. COLD beer. I was born and raised in Louisiana and this place comes really close to the real thing.

MY REVIEW: This is a great place - close to the Southwest Freeway -- worth the drive from any part of Houston. Prices are at least half of those in the Kemah Boardwalk restaurant row area. Crab cakes are yummy!! Salmon is excellent. Only wish the chef would add a good Cajun style cole slaw (with shrimp bits) and baked potatoes to his menu. We are get french fries anywhere.

MY REVIEW: A friend of mine raved about this restaurant so we went to it and boy was he right. Really great food at great prices. My wife had the jumbo fried shrimp special and I had crawfish etouffe (I ordered the lunch size) and we both had go boxes after the meal. Oh yes, be sure to try the onion rings, they are fabulous, and the gumbo won't disappoint you, either.

All of the comments submitted by others are true. Treat yourself and visit this great restaurant.
