Ranchero's Grill & Cantina

MY REVIEW: Ate here after church with a small group of 8 adults and 2 children. Waited almost an hour for our food despite other groups that arrived after us got served first. Never was given an explanation and all our food and plates were cold. When we asked to speak to the manager, we were told he did not speak English. Fortunately, someone in our group did. However, he offered no apologies or explanations. We will never go back.

MY REVIEW: This was our first visit and we've already told some friends about it. Wonderful service and great food. We had a large group and the service was outstanding. Chips, salsa and drinks were refilled regularly. The fajitas were good. Now that we've found it, we'll be back.

MY REVIEW: I have been dining at Ranchero's for years now. The owners have actually watched my children grow up. It has a very nice atmosphere, very nice owners, friendly wait staff with consistantly good food. I can honestly say that I have not had any food issues and that the fajitas and margaritas are the best around. It is a good feeling to go into this establishment and have everyone feel like they are at home. As another stated, my children definately prefer it over Mc*Donald's.

MY REVIEW: This by far is the best Mexican restaurant around The Woodlands area. I've tried them all. The fajitas are excellent, the margaritas are close to perfect and contain a generous portion a tequila. In fact, the fajitas for two will feed a family of four! I love the Chicken Especial and there's some meal (forget the name) with bacon, jalapenos, and chicken that can not be beat. The atmosphere is family oriented, it's very clean, and everyone that works there is extremely friendly.

MY REVIEW: We are new to The Woodlands and live near Woodlands Parkway/FM2978. Searching for convenient restaurants, we came across Ranchero's. It is difficult to please our entire family, but everyone enjoyed our meal at Ranchero's. The service was excellent, chips were great and so was our food. We would have enjoyed more tomatoes and cheese on our tacos, but will ask for that next time. We will be back!

MY REVIEW: The salsa is excellent. It is usually not hard to get a table even on Friday and Saturday nights. My husband and I usually share the Ranchero's special: it's like beef, chicken and shrimp fajitas with grilled veggies. It's spectacular. I also love the pork tacos al carbon. There is so much flavor in all of the fajita meats. My son will not let us leave without the sopapillas. I have to admit that I like them as much as he does. Price is very inexpensive. Our family of three usually costs around $25 including a nice tip. Wait staff is friendly. I can't say enough nice things about the place. We don't go out to eat much, but when we do it's usually Ranchero's.

MY REVIEW: My family of 5 just moved to the area a few months ago and Ranchero's has quickly become our favorite restaurant. If you consider the chips and salsa to be an important part of eating mexican as my family does, then you'll love this place - the chips are always crispy light and served hot. And with a wide variety of dishes including an excellent kids menu, my 3 teens/preteens all actually vote Ranchero's over M*cDonald's now (shocking). Pricing is average - service is excellent. We've been 30+ times already with not a single bad experience.

MY REVIEW: Excellent fajitas - their strong point definitely (their enchiladas are mediocre). Incredibly good sopapillas and the strongest point of all is their excellent service. Short on atmosphere but they have an extremely roomy dining area.

MY REVIEW: Consistently good food at reasonable prices. Not much atmosphere, but great service and good food...mostly tex-mex, but a few more authentic dishes. Surprisingly good salsas served with chips for munching.
