MY REVIEW: We live in Greatwood and like to venture to the Richmond/Rosenberg area to try out new restaurants on occasion and before we decided on where we wanted to go for lunch I decided to do a search on B4-U-EAT and read some of the reviews on Italian Maid Cafe which were all very positive! My interest peaked, I gathered my family up and we made a trip out there. Being New Year's Eve when we ventured in the place it was very quiet and we were greeted enthusiastically by our waitress who was very nice! After perusing the lunch menu we decided on the "economy lunch"..a hearty helping of spaghetti & meatballs which was a very generous portion and very tasty! And my wife ordered the "Pesto Pasta" which came with a very nice salad! Since the portion was so big I had to help her finish it..(no complaints here!) What was really a treat was the garlic bread which was to die for! Like a basket of chips it was constantly being refilled..

In conclusion, this family owned restaurant is a charming place with wonderful service and great food at great prices! The people are very friendly and the restaurant is situated on a street that gives you a very homey "small town" feel..You feel transported back to a "simpler" time. The decor inside is very tasteful and the ambience is very nice! Great food, great atmosphere, great prices! Two thumbs up!

MY REVIEW: We really enjoy eating at the Italian Maid Café. The food there is really wonderful and the atmosphere is very special as well. The owners, Lanie and Alex, make you feel at home and your dining experience is very enjoyable. Over the past several years we have had lunch and dinner at the Italian Maid about once a month. We have probably tried everything on the menu and most of their special items as well. We really Love the food ! The lasagna, pasta, and all of the fish dishes are very tasty. Plus the atmosphere makes it a special place to take our family and friends – you can be sure that everyone will have a great dining experience. The Italian Maid is a wonderful restaurant I highly recommend it !

MY REVIEW: A really wonderful restaurant !! The food is great and the atmosphere makes you feel right at home ! The owners make sure that your experience is fantastic. We go to the Italian Maid at least once a month and have had just about everything on the menu. All the food is very good. The value for the money is also very good. Lanie and Alex make you feel like you have come over to a relatives house for dinner (just like when I was growing up). You can't go wrong here !!

MY REVIEW: Italian Maid Cafe is a cozy restaurant with the best Italian food "on the block" from what one of their advertisements reads. There is a wide range of pasta dishes, pizza, and other delicious food to choose from. The wait staff is very attentive and offer great customer service. Alex and Lanie, the owners, are always on hand to help out and love getting to know their customers. It truly is a unique and wonderful restaurant. I highly recommend Italian Maid.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I went there for a wonderful Valentines dinner. This is my wife's favorite restaurant. The crab filled orange roughy was very fresh, moist and tender. We enjoyed our dinner to the live string duet and topped it off with some wonderful mini desserts and coffee. Alex, Lanie and Don are always hospitable and make you feel welcome. The Italian Maid is the best Italian in the area.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary at the Italian Maid Cafe the day before Valentine's Day this year, choosing the special Valentine's Day 4-course meal. My husband had the beef tenderloin, which was cooked to perfection, and I had the crab-stuffed orange roughy, which was light, flaky, and delicious. Don't overlook this restaurant when you're in the Richmond/Rosenberg area - we have always had excellent Italian food and personal, friendly service. Their menu easily accomodates kiddos, too - our 4 and 6 year old daughters love the food too!

MY REVIEW: A small cozy resturant, great food and great service. I have probably eaten there 100 times or more. For sure try the summer salad and good old fashioned spaghetti and meat balls. Surprisingly for an Italian resturant, the gumbo is some of the best I have ever eaten. Ask for Alex, Lanie or Don.

MY REVIEW: We always have a nice experience when we head into old Richmond to visit the IMC. The food is authentic Italian, and they have other dishes to satisfy Texan tastes too. My wife loves their Chicken Parmesan. I recommend the pecan chicken or the lamb chops when they have them. Also - be sure to save room for the bread pudding (if that's even possible with their large portions).

If you are in Richmond, Italian Maid Cafe is easily the best Italian food in town. We try to make a date night there once a month and will keep returning!

MY REVIEW: You don't need to go to Italy to savor delicious, authentic Italian cuisine. Chef Alex at the Italian Maid Cafe prepares Italian food at its finest. The ambiance, friendly service and soft Italian music combine to make a memorable gastronomical experience.

We have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries and holidays there for the past 14 years and have never had a bad experience We are confident enough to bring out of town guests to the Italian Maid as we know it won't disappoint and will inevitably imprint a warm, unforgettable memory of their visit.

Whether your taste buds lean towards Old World Italian fare or neaveau dishes created by Alex, this warm, casual, kid friendly dining establishment in historic downtown Richmond is a gem.

MY REVIEW: This is my favorite place to eat. The staff is always friendly and prompt. During the week when I am at work, I usually get the chicken salad(without bread)and fresh fruit or tomato basil soup. They are always delicious. Another of my favorites is the meatball & spaghetti. The marinara sauce is delicious, never bitter like some. The prices are very fair in comparison with the other two restaurants on the same block; and the atmosphere and ambiance are very nice.

This was a treasure find when I first moved to Richmond, and it is and always will be regular spot for me. This is the only restaurant I recommend to anyone I know. The customers who come to our store are always directed there if they are looking for a good place to eat.

This restaurant offers catering, area for large groups, and quiet space for a romantic dinner.

I do hope that Italian Maid Cafe will get many new customers from my review and others. Thank you for the opportunity to share my review with you.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I dined here on Valentine's Day. The food was burnt/overcooked, the dessert was a combination of burned crapes and frozen (Rock hard, ice like) fruit. VERY Dissapointing. This is my fourth attempt to post a review to this website. No luck yet.

MY REVIEW: This is such a quaint restaurant - very local. The wait staff is attentive and helpful. The food is average at best. We started with the crab stuffed mushrooms, which were okay, but "nothing to write home about." For our entrees, I had the pesto pasta dish and my wife had the chicken parmesan. We both agreed mine was the better of the 2. The wine was fine with the meal, and the portions were quite large, so we didn not go home hungry. All in all, we had a nice dinner and it was certainly good enough to return again.

MY REVIEW: I'm sooo disappointed with my meal this evening. Normally, this place has decent Italian food, nothing spectacular but, decent. I made reservations for 4 for Valentine's Day. Had no idea they would only be serving a special valentine day, 4 course meal for dinner for $34.95/pp. That would not normally have been a problem except, we wanted Italian food. There was nothing on the menu that was Italian.

The waiter came to our table, and only said "Appetizer!" Then, 'Entree!" We ordered our meals and wine. Rolls were brought out. These were store bought rolls that had not even been warmed. They were not fresh. The butter served was teeny 'Country Crock' vials. Our $5/glass wine came from bottles with screw tops. The first courses arrived.....french onion soup. The bread was not toasted, the barely there cheese was not melted and the soup was just horrible. The salads arrived with no dressing. The waiter returned with a squirt bottle and said, "Shhh....don't tell anybody I'm doing this." He went around the the table and proceeded to squirt our plates.

Our entrees came. 2 of us ordered the beef tenderloin, medium well. One came well done, the other came medium rare. The outsides of the beef were burned and the gravy tasted like the powdered brown gravy that you get at the grocery store. All of our risottos tasted like paste. The only redeeming ingredient on the plate was the fresh vegetables. Dessert arrived. Crepes filled with ice cream and berries. The crepes were thick and doughy....the blueberries were the teeny canned type. The sauce, I believe, was microwaved raspberry or strawberry preserves.

For a special evening, this establishment just went down the tubes. The dinner for 4 was $200 and I would not have fed this food to my dog. Such a disappointment when we love to visit local establishments that have character and quality food. There was neither at this restaurant tonight.

MY REVIEW: This is a favorite place for me. Whenever I want a quaint, quiet dinner with my date, this is where I go. The service is great and the staff is very personable. The food is excellent. The owner makes it a point to personally come out and talk with you. Even the chef came out one time just to see how we liked his "specialty". I wish there were more places of this caliber in the Rosenberg/Richmond area.

I'll stay a regular customer for sure.

MY REVIEW: Great place. Have been looking for a local, family owned restaurant (it was right under my nose the entire time!). Great staff and chef. Just about everyone on the staff came over and chatted and checked on us. Had one of the specials -chicken breast stuffed with crabmeat and shallets. Delicious! Great for kids too -they had the tortellini with marinara. Plan to take the parents next time they visit -to do an "authenticity check." I plan to come back.
