Saba's Kosher Kitchen
9704 Fondren Rd, Houston, Texas 77096
MY REVIEW: The remodeled Saba's is a nicer place, still not posh by any means but much nicer for dining in. They now serve on reusable plates with reusable utensils instead of just paper and plastic. The menu is still in flux but appears to have been expanded quite a bit.
I enjoyed a Sabich baguette, tasty grilled eggplant, a hardboiled egg, hummus and Israeli salad fixin's on a well-toasted baguette, with optional hot sauce and tahini sauce on the side. It was very filling and satisfying.

MY REVIEW: I am a regular there. Their pizza is one of the best pizzas in town. I'll admit, it might not look like it from the outside, and they may not have the same specials as P*apa johns or D*ominos, but they truly have one of the tastiest crusts in town.
I was also pleased to see the owners remodel, it showed that they really care about their overall reputation.
The menu has also changed for the better over the years, I haven't tried their sushi yet, but I will very soon.

MY REVIEW: Great little place with interesting dishes. Boureka's are great, especially the full sized ones which are a bargain - made with phyllo dough. I've enjoyed the Morrocan Cigars - essentially veggie taquitos, Sabich plate - veggie (eggplant) gyros, and Malawach pizza - malawach is like phyllo - flaky - but made with multiple layers of deep-fried crepes. Unfortunately it got real soggy from the toppings. Pizza by the slice is not a good idea - reheated and therefore overcooked and browned - get a whole pizza. Cheesecake is awesome. Limited hours and closed for the Jewish Sabbath and Jewish holidays. Being Kosher/dairy it's a little pricey but it's just minutes from my house so with the price of gas these days it works better for me than a long drive for something else, plus the food is very satisfying.

MY REVIEW: The highpoints of our visit were shakshuka, veggie pizza , falafel and mushroom 'bourekas'. There are many more choices for people looking to eat vegetarian food. Great food. We will be back again.

MY REVIEW: I love Saba’s. Everything on the menu is great, if it’s pizza or pasta or even Israeli dishes. No matter what you eat there you will not be disappointed. Most of the things on the menu come with a side so you get your moneys worth. It’s a nice place to go eat with the family and the kids love the pizza. Really the BEST pizza in the world. The employees are great too, you can tell that they care about the customer. They just want everyone to enjoy there food and to leave there happy.

MY REVIEW: I visited in Houston for a few days. Highly recommended by a friend I decided to have lunch at Saba's. Not to mention the great service the food was amazing. If you feel like having a light lunch the greek salad is delicious. The pizza was delicious, you just can't stop after one slice.
If you get a chance to visit Houston dont forget to enjoy a great meal at Saba's Kosher Rest.

MY REVIEW: They just added sushi to their menu and their sushi is very fresh and tasty. While prices may be a bit high, it is nice to be able to go OUT to a restaurant to get sushi, and a variety of sushi options at that.

MY REVIEW: Their pizza is good, but propably the best on the menu is the shakshuka, which is spicy eggs with diced vegetables in it. It's really really good. Also their falafel is really good. I've always liked their different sandwiches in pita and definitly their bourekas. Man they make some good bourekas. If you don't know what that is, go there and taste it. I don't know. They don't have such a large variety of pizzas, but what they got is pretty good. It's definitely some of the best pizza I've had in Houston, but I'm a little prejudice against Houston pizza because I spent sometime in New York. Plus dude, it's like a little jewish place which makes it really cool. It's a cool experience, everybody who works their are Israelis, really warm souls. It's one hundred percent kosher for those who are concerned.

MY REVIEW: They have the Best pizza sauce in town. Honest. i love their Pizza bagels, they are GREAT. their Fallafel is wonderful too. in fact i have not had anything there that is not just great. we are not even Jewish, just live in the neighborhood. we usually stop by at least once a month if not more. you have just got to try their pizza. you will see what i mean.
because it is a milk (no meat products) restaurant, don't expect any meat toppings, but their pizza does not need it.

MY REVIEW: Although the place is inconspicuous and location is not too fancy, it has a strong number of followers. The food is of 'diary' type since the kosher rules require separation between diary and meat dishes. But even with only diary they produce large variety of dishes: falafel sandwich that is served in the 'open' Israeli style, so that customers can add more spices and sauces according to their taste, pizza (plain cheese and with vegetables), pizza-style sandwiches, pastas, fish, and traditional Israeli 'bourekas' with different fillings. They also make good chalach bread for Sabbath. I usually like to enjoy their falafel sandwich and 'shakshukah' - the Israeli variety of hueves rancheros, served with spicy salsa and either with thinly chopped vegetables or chummus (I prefer the later).
