MY REVIEW: Service is s l o w but always pleasant and courteous. A fun place with menu items you won't find elsewhere. Cottage pie was great without being heavy; my friend had liver and onions and was very pleased. The restrooms are somewhat concealed, but look for the yellow lamp way past the bar.

MY REVIEW: Here, they actually DO know my name. I love B&B, not only for lunch & dinner, but also just as a friendly bar. More than just bar food, it's just GOOD home cooking as well as British favorites. I've tried most of the menu, plus the daily ever-changing lunch specials and have never been disappointed. Remember Wednesday's half price business man's lunch! (Tuesdays are for the ladies)

MY REVIEW: We celebrated my husband's 48th birthday on a sunday afternoon it was not very crowded which is a big plus in a town this size.

The food was great. Everyone left with a small to go bag. Large portions! It was my first time to try the bread pudding with sauce GREAT! Just like grandma's...

I love the kinda dark ambiance old fashion feel. Only wish they would have had kareoke that afternoon.

Kelly and Molly thanks for putting up with us. You guys were great.

The smoking thing: half our group kept getting up to go outside which is kinda rude but hey thats family...

The best part DALE'S PALE ALE don't ever stop serving that.

It was a birthday party to remember.

MY REVIEW: Houston is the 37th foreign country (non-US) I've visited or lived in, hence, I've been at bars and pubs worldwide. This tavern is highly satisfactory, could use some sprucing up, but largely mirrors European establishments.

Great high sides include OUTSTANDING lunch specials (generous portions, nicely prepared, fast service, UNREAL fair prices--worth the trip from anywhere near downtown Houston), good service, and generally a nice place to have a few Guinesses (or many), see friends, and watch a game.

I am in a work group and on occasion we meet there, it's that good. It appears other groups of friends meet there as well. They try hard, go have lunch and a brewskie, you won't be disappointed.

MY REVIEW: This is the best "Brittish Pub" in the US, I have traveled all over the country and world and this is a close to the corner pub you will find outside of the UK. The staff is very good and the food is great! Often you will see regulars there chating with the owner himself. The fish and chips are as close to what you will find in the UK as you can get and the beer list is fantastic. I often spend time there durring the week writing technical material in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Thanks Tommy!

MY REVIEW: This is the best UK/Irish pub in the US, having traveled the world and living in houston, the Bull and the Bear is on the top of my list. The beer selection is fantastic and being able to get Guinness on draft for $3.50 a pint anytime is great. The staff are great and the food is over the top. I spend many days there working on projects and am very very pleased that the Bull and the Bear is there!

Keep up the great place!

MY REVIEW: If you want some fantastic food this is the place to go. The atmosphere and the food makes me feel like i never left Scotland. :) At our table of 4 we had chicken curry, fish and chips, cottage pie and the London Broil. We will definitly be going back!

MY REVIEW: I am not English, Irish, Scottish or Waleish. Although I love to hang with these folks, I would go there just for the food. It is not a five star restaurant however it has really good food and service at extremely fair prices. The fare is consistent as is the service. I have never been to Brittan so I have nothing to compare this with. I go there because of the good and reasonable priced food, the friendly staff and the good people that patronize the place. My only let down is that is a good distance from my apartment and so I don’t go as often as I would like. Check out the lamb.

MY REVIEW: While the food was mediocre (had the bangers and mash with the salmon app), I always like a local 'Irish' pub style bar with Guinness and Jameson. Them having free wireless didn't hurt a bit. On this last visit to Houston when I found it I was there 4 nights in a row. Lively crowd watching the Olympics, good service. No complaints - I'd certainly tell a friend who might be in town to stop by for a pint.

MY REVIEW: If you're English and in West Houston, go to the Bull and Bear. It's the closest you're going to get to having a 'local'. The staff are so nice (Kim is our favorite waitress in the world), the food is always good and you'll feel not so homesick. My husband and I have lived in lots of places (oil business) and the Bull and Bear really is one of the good things about Houston.

MY REVIEW: We eat here every Saturday or Sunday for lunch. I love the food and the great beer selection. They have different beer specials monthly so it is a great way to try something new. The bartenders and wait staff are very friendly. The only low point for me is not being a smoker it is very smokey and I HATE THAT.
