Sweet Retreat

MY REVIEW: I agree with the person before, great cookies & a nice break for some frozen yogurt, however, I've personally sampled the cakes from the supreme baker who works in the 717 building, and she is by far the very best in town (not cheap, but worth it).

MY REVIEW: I totally agree with the person before... their cookies pastries and ice cream are totally yummy, but their cakes leave a lot to be desired. That's why we are lucky enough to order from a girl who works in our building at 717 because she is the bomb when it comes to baking!

MY REVIEW: Sweet Retreat is conveniently located in the downtown tunnel. However, their cakes don't have much flavor. They are comparable to an "average" cake you would buy at a local grocery store. (i.e. The look and flavor of the cakes are OK....nothing great or anything that will make you go "Wow! that was a delicious piece of cake") They're cakes are made offsite and tend to be way too sweet and sugary. The only reason our company uses them is because they are the only bakery within 5 minutes of our office. However, their other desserts (cookies, muffins and icecream) are really delicious and we have used them for "ice cream socials" and other events at our office.
