MY REVIEW: The food is this restuarants strong point. However the service is terrible. Myself and two of my coworkers went to eat lunch and were waiting quite a long time. After we saw the majority of the people who came in after us, some in bigger parties than ours, we asked the waiter how much longer our food would be because we had to get back to work. The waiter informed us that if we were in a hurry we should have gone to M*cDonalds. This was the rudest thing I believe I have ever heard in a restuarant and as such will never return to the establishment.

MY REVIEW: This is a nicely decorated and well done restaurant. This being said, I will not return. During my last visit I needed to show a business colleague something on my laptop computer (the place was empty is was late afternoon) and the women behind the counter did not want me to plug in my computer as she was concerned that it used too much electricity. I pass this restaurant everyday on my way home from work and often wonder how much electricity it would have taken to review three Power Point slides. I suppose I learned to always keep my laptop battery charged.

MY REVIEW: This place has very good food. We ordered from here once and everyone liked the food so much, this has become our weekly dinner choice for our Bible Study class. No complaints and we keep going back.

MY REVIEW: The best Chinese you can find in the Sugar Land Area! We frequent at least once every other week and agree, when the question comes us for the family, "where do you want to eat," we're always content with going to Goo Goo Yen. My wife always enjoys the fresh steamed vegies (ask for extra fresh ginger) and one of my all-time favorites is to ask for their pan-fried house-special noodles. The service is perfect and the staff are the best!

MY REVIEW: My wife and I have frequented this place the past year as much as possible (2-3 times a month); I have been spoiled by the quality food served here, nothing but fresh ingredients makes other chinese restaurants simply unacceptable. We've never found a bad dish. Most surpsingly, since it is a lunch time haunt for most, our Friday evening dinners are always wonderfully quiet even with the two kids in tow. The staff knows us by name (ask for Sherry). Every time my wife and I get into one of those cell phone conversations of "I don't know, where do you want to eat tonight," this place is always the trump card.

Truly, if you want quality chinese dining in a comfortable place, I haven't found better.

They can make anything to your specifications. I love this restaurant and highly recommend it to EVERYONE!

MY REVIEW: We celebrated my brother's birthday here this year. The food is fantastic and the service is even better. I enjoy the homely atmosphere and the sincere fortune cookies. I used to work at a Chinese restaurant in San Fransico and this certainly ranks with the top of the tops -- one of the best hidden gems in first colony.

MY REVIEW: Not a bad place at all. Service was mediocre and the lunch portions could be a little bit biggger. We had four people in our party and we all had empty drink glasses on our table after we finished our meal. Needless to say, the server could have come by to refill our drinks at least one last time after we paid, or at least asked if we wanted a refill on our water/teas. Food tasted good though, i will give them that! I would come again for dinner.

MY REVIEW: This is an excellent little restaurant. The service is very friendly, very timely, hot, fresh, prices are good, and most of all the food was great. This was our second visit and we have been very satisfied both times. You can order from the main menu (e.g. white meat, red meat...) or just go to the back of the menu and get the lunch or dinner combo which includes soup, spring roll (appetizer), and entree. We will definitely go back - soon - and try a different dish.

MY REVIEW: The restaurant was a great find for my husband and I. The service was excellent. Everything we ordered was delivered with great timing and was served hot. I really liked the fact that it was served family style. The food was wonderful.

The atomshpere was nice. No screaming kids. You could actually carry on a conversation without yelling to each other. I would definitely recommend it. I will also be returning.

MY REVIEW: One of our 2 favorite places to eat in Sugar Land (including Houston, for that matter)! We eat here 2-3 times a month and have been doing so for the past 18 months. The sesame chicken and the orange peel chicken (lunch menus) are two of the very best meals I've tasted. I'm not as crazy about the fried rice that comes with that meal, but with some of the sauce of the chicken dishes on it, that even comes to life. The chicken always tastes so fresh and the portions are large (or, at least on the lunch menu, as that is the time of day we always go). Tremendous value. Very friendly staff and very clean. I'm amazed that it isn't more crowded. Probably 90% of our visits are after church on Sundays (noon).

MY REVIEW: Always fresh (no canned) ingredients or they will not serve it. One of the owners used to work at a close by chinese rest. The food, no matter what you order is delicious. We try to frequent this as often as possible.

Nice quiet atmosphere and all employees are friendly and attentive!

MY REVIEW: The atmosphere was very well received, even though there were just a few people in there considering that lunch break was over. The wide screen TV, champagne bottles, and the elegant aqua green walls helped make it an elegant experience. Every employee whom I encountered was extra friendly to me as I came in. When I ordered, the host was sure to get my order as quickly as possible. The food came, and it was still freshly hot when placed upon the table. To describe how hot it was, all I can tell you is that the teriyaki sauce was still bubbling as I ate. I give them props for having some delicious food and proficient and friendly service Cafe Goo Goo Yen has been treating me.

MY REVIEW: We are residents of Sugar Land and whenever we had a yen for Chinese food we would always go to Chinatown on Bellaire Blvd..however..one day we happened upon this place and ever since our trips to Chinatown have been less frequent.

This place is a gem in Sugar Land! The atmosphere and ambience is very understated and the best thing about this place is the quaint surroundings and peace you experience while eating some really good Chinese food! Which is rare for Sugar Land..save your proverbial buffets..etc..which gets old..

The portions are just right when you order off the lunch menu..which is also served during dinner..so you never feel full! And the wait staff has always been really good! Your iced tea always remains filled and the friendliness of the owners is refreshing! They have a flat screen TV going on in the background and some nice relaxing muzak usually playing and the soft light of the restaurant gives it a certain air of class and civility..nice presentation of the food and always cooked to order and fresh! I always order the steamed rice with my meals and it's always fresh and complements the entree very well!

If you live in Sugar Land and are looking for a pleasant environment to have some nice conversation while eating a really good meal..you need to check this place out! It's great!
