MY REVIEW: I wanted to provide my feed back to GuaCOmole review. In my opion Brown Bag makes great sandwiches and their cookies are the best. The new rice krispy treats at the Rice village location are better then the old ones. As for GuaCOmole comments: Music, You can ask them to change the music or turn it down; I do, and the two times I asked they happy changed it. Inmate comment, most of the people there are really nice and more then accomidating of any request, I would describe their appearance Austin-ish and not as a chain gang.
Wifi -- works great for me at the Rice Village Location
Suggestion: Brown Bag should carry Monster

MY REVIEW: I have never been happier with a sandwich shop. Asked who the manager was and he was the guy in the middle of everything. Good to see that! As a picky eater (hold this, add that) I got what I ordered. On a Wednesday afternoon it was busy but understandable with such good eats. Strong points: smooth running shop with yummy sandwiches. Weak points: sort of hot on a Houston afternoon.

MY REVIEW: Strong points: It's just a deli. It's not some "haute sandwich emporium" or "NY Deli here in the heart of Houston". YES. The B*arnaby's guys own it. And YES, it's got the same atmosphere as B*arnaby's-- cool, but not cause it's trying to be. Three things stand out. 1. The people are awesome. Nothing to hide, nothing to complain about, and most certainly nothing to indicate that they hate their jobs (this is what I believe makes a strong business) 2. I ask for a little bit of mayo, I get a little bit of mayo. 3. The bread might as well be cake. YUM! A weak point is that they DO have a relatively smaller selection of meats , I think possibly they aren't a deli but more of a sandwich shop. But then Brown Bag Deli wouldn't have a catchy name, now, would it?

MY REVIEW: If this place is an affiliate of B*arnaby's, where are they getting the sandwich fixins? I mean, CHOPPED EGG, in Chicken Salad?! YUCK!! Wi-Fi? It's never worked whenever I've stopped in and nobody gave a pickle about it. The inmates run this asylum: LOUD and LOUSY rock music does not make for a plesant lunch. Yeah, it's a sandwich joint, but I've had more ambience in a train station. There are better places right around the corner...

MY REVIEW: Brown Bag Deli is my favorite place to go for lunch. The people (especially the manager) are very nice and always willing to assist the customers. I love the chocolate chip cookies and the manager cooks them fresh daily. They are very earth-friendly with cups and bags made from corn. The bread is deliciously sweet and fresh. This is definitely the best sandwich store there is anywhere in Houston.

MY REVIEW: Very good sandwiches. I didn't get all the toppings I asked for but my wheat bread was fresh and warm so it made up. I'll have to say though that the Brown Bag on Westheimer and Shepherd is better but this will do seeing its nearby

MY REVIEW: I don't know what the guy complaining about the bread is talking about. I think their bread is addicting. I'm not a horseradish pepperjack roast beef kind of guy, but I can definitely vouch for my favorite sandwich (turkey on wheat with honey mustard and vinagre).
Along with their incredible sandwiches comes a modern presentation, with free wifi and even a few "open to all" computers.
I'm a big fan.

MY REVIEW: I really like their sandwiches - I usually get the tuna or the egg salad. Both are very good. The whole wheat bread is fresh and often warm. The staff is amazingly nice and friendly, even when our toddler throws things and makes a mess. Their chocolate chip cookies are a little overdone for my taste but all the chips crammed into the cookie make me buy one everytime I go there anyway. I think this place is great!

MY REVIEW: Horrible. I ordered a roast beef with horseradish cheese on a jalapeno bread. The bread is not that great. It's very spongy, somewhat sweet and just not enjoyable. The sandwich did not impress me, very dry even though I ordered it with mayo and horseradish sauce.

MY REVIEW: First time here, and I will go back. Soft, fresh bread, hefty portions of veggies and meat, and it was really, really delicious.
I really enjoyed the whole "order off the bag" menu concept.. just check off what you want, and off you go.
Clean, friendly, and the food was great.

MY REVIEW: This former A*ntone's sandwhich location now looks fresher and and more inviting with its new vibrant green and brown tones. I started going to this location as soon as it opened. To me, a good sandwhich starts with the bread, then quality meats, and cheeses, then fresh vegitables. The quality of the ingredients have always been very good. The service has always been friendly, fast, and efficient. The sanwhiches until recentlyh ave been very good. Something has changed in the past 2 months. The bread started getting smaller. I am sure this was not a one time occurence, since I go so often. I have had their white meat chicken salad everytime, except once. Since March it has had less chicken and more egg yolk, but the price is still the same. i really like this restaurant, but I am at the point where my next visit will determine if I should write it off. For the price, I used to think it was a fair deal. But not anymore.

MY REVIEW: I agree!! Probably the best sandwich in town. I love this place. I used to eat here at least once a week, but have since moved a little farther away. I still make the trip over when I can - it’s definitely worth it.
I usually get the turkey sandwich on white bread with mayo, lettuce, cheese, tomato, onion and pickle. Meat portions are large! Bread is AWESOME!!!! Sweet potato salad is very good, too!
Great atmosphere and great staff!! Cheap too!
HIGHLY recommend this place!!!

MY REVIEW: This is by far (and trust me on this) the best sandwich place in town. The food is fresh, the peppers are hot!, the prices are right and the overall atmosphere make me feel safe being that they are located on the Northwest Freeway (Scary!). They have no problems when it comes to food but, they could lay off the vanilla candles. Too strong! It makes me full just waiting in line.

MY REVIEW: THe food isn't bad, BUT the price just went up from $3.50 on all sandwiches to $4.50. No longer the bargain that it had been, especially in comparison to Q*uizno's $2.99 sandwiches.

MY REVIEW: I love the Brown Bag Deli. The sandwhiches used to be $3.50 but they were raised $1 because of gas prices. Once the oil in the Gulf begins to flow again hopefully they will go back to being $3.50.
Their sandwhiches are AWESOME. All of the breads are great esp. jalepeno cheese. I always get the all-white chicken salad and it's pretty much to die for. They offer plenty of sides and the fruit cut is great.
S*ubway is more expensive for the long sub sandwhich which is always stale. Try Brown Bag Deli.

MY REVIEW: MUCH better than A*ntoine's! People get tired of the same old crusty bread sandwich. I had the Albacore tuna with pepper jack cheese, red onion, lettuce and tomato on jalapeno bread. I loved the "mushy" bread; it was unique and scrumptiously delicious. The menu on the brown bag (with a la carte prices) in lieu of the menu board is simply fab and resourceful. Great idea! I was in and out in less than two minutes. I loved the jars and the many "treats" on display. I'll have to try the cookies next time.

MY REVIEW: Let me start off by saying that I absolutely love the chocolate chip cookies. A co-worker and I ate lunch at the 290 location, and even though it was probably the busiest time of the day, the service was remarkable and quick. The manager spoke to us and seemed calm and confident despite the rush of customers. The food was delicious. The tuna salad on wheat is by far the best sandwich offered. The atmosphere of the deli was relaxed and chill, and the restroom and dining area were spotless. I enjoyed my seventh visit as much as my first.

MY REVIEW: Fantastic food! Loved the lemon cake, the dill red potato salad, and the medium rare roast beef (tender) with horseradish sauce of jalapeno cheese bread with tomato, red onion and pickle. So-o-o-o good, and I don't even really like deli food.
Friendly staff. I second tammyf's review request to put another Brown Bag Deli at the Dairy Ashford/Briarforest location.
Thanks. I am going back to eat there today!

MY REVIEW: It was OK. Very unremarkable all over. Mushy bread-no character to it. Shredded lettuce & un-ripe, too thin tomatoes. The portion on the meat was average, and I'm glad they didn't charge extra for the one slice of cheese.
The meat was dry-no topping. I ordered a turkey on wheat with mustard, my companion -the much lauded Honey-Ham with horseradish chedder, etc. In a REAL deli,or even a good sandwich shop, the mustard goes on the bottom bread, next to the meat, so as to not whack out the soft top palate when you bite into it. Not the case here. NOTHING was on the bottom bread, which did make it easier to reomove, for it was WAY TOO soft and doughy, and the proportion was way off-kinda like a "wish" sandwich-where you have all this bread and you "wish" you had some meat.
Great concept-very fast, very middle of the road. Good "extra's" like coffee, tea and Amy's ice cream, but the potato salad tasted pre-made. I'd also prefer to see them use a local coffee purveyor and roaster like K*atz's Coffee-NO relation to the *ahem* "restaurant."
If you don't like delis-then this is The Place for you!

MY REVIEW: Very good tasting sandwiches. We really like their thinly sliced - yet thick - turkey sandwiches. "George", the manager, is very friendly. More and more folks are learning about this new location and soon, the lines will be out the door. Food is very fresh and the place is kept spotless. I know, my son works there.

MY REVIEW: A friend & I decided to try out this place yesterday & what a neat place! We loved it! What a great concept & so simple! It was even fun-you get a brown bag, check off what you want on your sandwich, check off which sides you want & thats all there was to ordering. You pay & then you sandwich is ready. The sandwiches are $3.50 & it was huge! They give you a ton of meat. I had turkey & monterrey jack cheese on wheat with may & pickles. What good bread they have also. I got a side of potato salad that was good also-it tasted home made. The had great tea & even featured S*tarbucks coffee & Amys ice creams. They also had a great variety of bottled drinks! We really liked it and will go back often as we live right around the corner!
