MY REVIEW: Best breakfast sandwich in town! I usually order the Texas fried steak sandwich and onion rings for lunch and top it off with their big iced tea. This is a little place located on Sampson @ the corner of Garrow, close to downtown, this place has been here ever since I can remember, I will be going there today, you can phone in your order and it will be waiting on you, still hot and fresh. They take cash, but you won't need to get a loan. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO EVERYONE.

MY REVIEW: As a student at UH, Great taste isn't far away. The burgers are huge like many of their other entrees such as the Texas size steak sandwhich. Their prices are very low for the amount of food I received. Friendly service and a great place to satisfy your hunger.

MY REVIEW: Yesterday was a good day for the Food Guy to venture out of the burbs and into the city in search of the best burger. I found a very good one at Champ, but I don't think I'd rave as much as some of the people I have read on here and elsewhere (like Alison Cook).

I had a bacon cheeseburger, onion rings, and a chocolate shake. The cheeseburger was pretty good-sized, with a good amount of juice runoff. The bacon was a little overdone, and overall the fixings were a little dry. I expected a little more mayo and mustard, and maybe a little more lettuce. But overall, it was a good burger. The onion rings were pretty plain - couldn't really taste the beer in the batter, and there wasn't much flavor. The shake was first-rate, though. Unlike some, I like the Hershey's flavoring, and it was quite thick. I took a chance even though shakes don't agree with me, and I'm glad I did. I almost ordered their Texas steak sandwich, which is supposedly huge and kind of caught my eye.

Unless you knew where to look, you'd never find Champ Burger. The counter people were very nice and helpful. The crowd was very eclectic and ethnically mixed, a prime cross-section of metro Houston. The patio was very nice, even though it was a little warm. I like urban places like Champ Burger, although for the same meal, I'd probably go to 2*Ms in Rosenberg, which is closer and serves similar burgers. If I'm downtown or in the 2d Ward, I might return, but not if the only reason for my trip was to find a really good burger.

MY REVIEW: Juicy homestyle flavorfull hamburger stacked with the perfect tomato, lettuce, onion. Reminds me of Home but better. Excellent breakfast sandwiches. Very nice proprieters greeting you at the window. Quick service - fast food but tastes MUCH better. Cash only! We will definitely go back again and again - so many more items to choose on the menu.

MY REVIEW: Reading the reviews for Champ Burger is making my mouth water because I KNOW how good the food is. I was a Champ Burger special kind of girl until one day I decided to try something different. I ordered their chicken fried steak sandwich (throwing caution to the wind) with cheese and jalapenos. WOAH! Ask them for a knife at the counter because there is no way you are going to finish this bad boy. It's sooo good, but if you try to finish that huge sandwich, you are going to have a belly ache.

I like how friendly the owner and cooks are. No matter how long the line is, they make sure you get exactly what you want. I can't imagine working in such a cramped space with so many people, but they all greet you with a smile--so the owner must be treating them pretty well.

Don't change a thing, Champ Burger!

MY REVIEW: I have been going to this place for about 10 years now. I have tried numerous items on the menu and I have never been disappointed. Their burgers are very good but my all time favorite is their fish sandwich & their onion rings. And their shakes are the best I have ever had at a fast food type place. Their breakfast tacos are great as well. But, the most important thing about Champ Burger is their friendly service. The entire staff is very nice and friendly and also very accommodating. Keep up the good work Champ Burger!!!

MY REVIEW: I started going to Champ Burger when I transferred to UH a year ago, I even started getting up really early so that I could get a breakfast sandwich before my 9am class. Champ Burger definitely makes the best burger in Houston and at fast food prices.

Strong points

-quality ingredients

-affordable add ons to customize your burger or sandwich

-Lunch specials-There fries are the best fries I've ever had with a burger, ever.

They have really great inexpensive breakfast sandwiches that could feed 4, when I bought the sausage sandwich it came with 4 patties in between 3 slices of thick toast and for under 4 dollars! It's definitely a good idea to call in your order if you're going there at lunch time and already running late but even then the average wait time is still only about 5 minutes.

MY REVIEW: Best burger joint in town, hands down. My dad and I have been eating there once or twice a week for the past twenty years and nothing beats it. Best item on the menu is the steak finger basket and their orange milkshake. Chris and Mike are like family to us, they always call us by name, knowing what we ordered and having our food hot and ready for us. VERY reasonable pricing.

MY REVIEW: After seeing all of the positive reviews, I took a trek out to Champ Burger. While the burger was good, it was by no means outstanding. I'm not sure if it was my imagination, but the burger tasted as if someone had splashed a touch of vinegar on it. Kind of strange. I had also been really stoked to try the beer battered onion rings that I had heared so much about. Unfortunately, they looked very commercial, as if they had come straight from your grocers freezer (tasted good though... just nothing special). I really hate to be all negative, but even the chocolate shake seemed like it had a lot of air in it. However, it did taste fine... just not 'old school' good. I'll have to say, they really did seem to have the business, so they must be doing something right for someone. Maybe I'm just retarded. I dunno.. :) Try them out for yourself. Definitely better than Burger K*ng.

MY REVIEW: Nice place. Don't hesitate to stop. The service is fast, but all seating is outside. Big, juicy burger with fresh veggies. Fresh bun. Generous, but messy with the condiments. Big, skin-on fries. Terrific lunch specials. Chicken sandwich (on wheat) looked really good too.
