McKenzie's Barbeque

MY REVIEW: I went to McKenzie's in Conroe for the first time last week and for the second time this week. I have tried the sliced beef, potato salad, corn on the cob, beans, cheese burger, onion rings, fries and chicken nuggets.

Strong points: Awesome BBQ, nice tender with smoky outer ring...the onion rings at their burger place are awesome. Potato salad is fresh and cold with a good tang... Nice and friendly place. My daughter had the chicken nuggets and the are fresh chicken friend chicken...not froze "nuggets." The shoe string fries are awesome. Burgers are great also and huge - juicy with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles - its a fix it yourself bar but it is all clean and fresh. They have great specials all week. The place is clean, clean restroom...just a great place to go. I am new to Conroe, TX and this is some place I will bring my out of town relatives...

MY REVIEW: We come here at least twice a month. The best ribs. period. Their hot links are very good,also. Desserts like cobbler and banana pudding are addictive. Plus wash it all down with the best sweet tea.

MY REVIEW: Two visits. First visit was at lunchtime, and had the brisket, which was excellent. Second visit was near closing, and had brisket and hot link. Hot link was very good. Brisket was good, but seemed to have lost smokiness, probably from being under a heat lamp too long. Service was excellent on both occasions.

MY REVIEW: Never disappointed in this place, and the location in Huntsville is just as good. The North Frazier location is a bit too casual, but the food makes up for it. Prices are very reasonable. You will not leave hungry.
