MY REVIEW: I must say, espectacular. Great environment, food, the service was unique. The restaurant has a charming welcome theme, that adds graciousness to the environment and the service.
We celebrated a friend's birthday, and the top of the night, was the spinach salad, exquisite, I can still taste it.
Congratulations to the chef and the owner, great place i will pass the word around.

MY REVIEW: Excellent food, wine, and ambiance. Our waiter, George, was very attentive, friendly, knowledgeable about food and wine, and made our dinner very special. The appetizer, salads, and entrees we ordered were excellent. The combo providing the music - Saturday night- added a very mellow, enjoyable atmosphere to the evening. We would recommend Bistro 829 to everyone.

MY REVIEW: Bistro has a feel of a small and quaint high end restaurant, which we love as we don't want to drive an hour for the same ambiance. The staff is always helpful in debating selections. My husband and I go here for our "date nights" which run few and far between, and we have never been disappointed in the quality of food or the way it is prepared. We will continue going to Bistro for our special nights.

MY REVIEW: Bistro 829 excelled with superb service, with perfectly prepared entrees, and with attention to every detail for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner on October 19. The entire process of planning, staying in touch, and executing the finishing touches was a pleasure with Jeff, our waiter, Josh, and everyone involved at the restaurant. Our party enjoyed an intimate candle lit dining room, the best of jazz, and the loveliest of table settings suitable for any age. Every request was honored, and every guest left complimenting the fabulous delicious selections from the menu and house wine and beer.
After comparing several "chain" restaurant locations in Katy, I feel fortunate to have spent the evening with Bistro 829, and I plan to recommend them highly and return to eat often while visiting new in-laws in Katy.

MY REVIEW: Forget everything you know about strip center dining; Bistro 829 has emerged as the refreshing alternative to all the cookie-cutter franchises and the fly-by-night start-ups in Katy's flourishing culinary scene.
Dictionary definitions of Bistro describe 'a small, informal or unpretentious restaurant serving wine; a tavern,' Bistro 829 redefines the concept with a trendy menu accented by superior wines and spirits.
What to expect: Atmosphere: B829 features a relaxed Bohemian-esque atmosphere with simple, yet elegant furnishings. We dined there recently to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. We waited for our party at an intimate mosaic-topped bar, where a friendly, knowledgeable bartender guided my husband in wine selection; and recommended I try the Tito's Handmade Vodka and Tonic. Pleasant background music is provided by a local guitarist.
Accommodations: Due to limited space and a loyal patronage, reservations are both recommended and welcome. Business was brisk on a Wednesday evening.
Service: The staff projects intelligent service; your needs are anticipated and questions are thoughtfully answered. Friendly yet unobtrusive, knowledgeable yet unpretentious, there is an unquestionable air of sincerity in their professionalism. A rare commodity in the restaurant industry: the Bistro 829 staff does not 'wait', they serve!
Cuisine: Last but not least, the food. The menu features a sensible selection of entrees with intriguing complimentary sides served in moderate proportions. Our server described the chef's nightly specials, which I couldn't resist: a grilled seafood medley paired with an crisp jicama slaw. My dining companions shared samples of their lamb, steak and yellow fin tuna; there were no disappointments on this menu! Every detail was exquisite.
It was no surprise that Bistro 829 was a bit pricey. Expensive, yes. But your money can't buy better value in cuisine, service and ambiance. Katy's Bistro 829 is family owned and operated and teems with pride of ownership.
Whether you are seeking an intimate evening, a celebratory atmosphere or a meal to impress guests, Bistro 829 is a winner!

MY REVIEW: We have finally found a quiet, intimate spot with fine food and service, it's not snooty (as we thought) and it's right in our neighborhood! The food and service are definitely upscale for Katy, TX, but the price is not overbearing. We had a nice meal with one glass of house wine (no dessert) for $85 with 20% tip. The waiter was Josh and he was professional, prompt, attentive but not overbearing (which is what you want in an intimate place, right?)
We were there last Wednesday, and enjoyed the guitarist during our meal. It was our wedding anniversary and we just wanted a fine meal in a quiet setting for just the two of us. That's what we found. You can be sure we will be back for birthdays and anniversaries at least. We no longer need to drive 15 or 20 miles for fine food and intimacy. We wish we had tried this place years ago!

MY REVIEW: WENT THERE FOR HUBBIES BIRTHDAY, THEY HAD A GUITAR PLAYER THAT WAS VERY GOOD. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENCE, EXCEPT THE CRAB CAKES THEY WERE VERY FISHY TASTING,BUT THE STEAK AND DESSERT WAS DELIGHTFUL. THE WAITER WAS GREAT WE HAD JOSH SO WHEN YOU GO ASK FOR HIM, HE DOES HIS JOB VERY WELL. WILL RETURN SOON, THE PRICES WASN'T TOO BAD. BEING ON A THURSDAY THERE WAS A GOOD CROWD, SO I CAN IMAGINE THE WEEKEND TO BE BUSY, MIGHT WANT TO MAKE A RESERVATION.

MY REVIEW: This is a cute and cozy Bistro. Tried for the first time, I ordered the pecan crusted salmon, while the salmon was cooked to perfection, I was a little disappointed in the fact there were just a few sprinkles of pecans crumbs on top of salmon that they pass off as pecan crusted. My wife had the crab cakes that were very good and had a very tasty dipping sauce. This Bistro is rather expensive; our bill for lunch was over 40.00 for two entrees and 2 ice teas with 20 % tip. I do recommend their lunch menu but have not tried the dinner menu which is a bit different. The food is good here and the wait staff very attentive, but to keep me coming back they have to reduce their prices.

MY REVIEW: We had our first visit to the bistro last night. They has a WINE DINNER Featuring Frederick Wildman’s Argentine Wines. Each course was excellent but my favorite by far was the mesquite grilled peppery tenderloin. That is the best tenderloin I've ever had. And I have had many. I was told that it isn't normally mesquite grilled but I'd suggest that add that to the regular menu. It was amazing. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. I feel like we discovered a hidden treasure right there in the neighborhood.

MY REVIEW: Good, upscale food and much appreciated in Katy with so many regular fast-food places and chain restaurants. Always excellent, but can be pricy, as one might expect. Discovered recently that they do less expensive lunches that are very reasonable, so will try to make them often. An oasis in the many along Mason Road, and a good palce for that special dinner event. Recommended highly.

MY REVIEW: My friend and I visited the restaurant on a Saturday night and there was no live music or band. They need to change their website because this is one of the reasons why we went. They told us they use to have live music on the weekends but now its only on Wed. & Thurs. The food and service was good.

MY REVIEW: I had been to this restaurant before several years ago, on Valentine's Day. It was awful. The food was bland and tasteless. BUT, we decided to give it another try last Saturday and I am glad we did! The food was great, the recommendations from the waiter (Joe) were spot on! I blew my diet big time but it was so worth it! Go in for a nice dinner, good food, and ask for Joe. He will do right by you!

MY REVIEW: My husband and I have tried this restaurant several times and have been happy with everything EXCEPT the filet. It was so horrible that one of the owners took it back to the kitchen and tried it herself and agreed. But, everything else has been superb. They make their own homemade lemoncello and raspberry infused vodka. Both are wicked good. And when they say limit 1 on the lemoncello - trust me, stick to 1! There is a delicious albeit, girlie drink called the Lotus Blossom. it ranks a 10 on my drink scale! Cheers!

MY REVIEW: It has been a long time since I have felt compelled to publicly comment on a restaurant … but our experience at Bistro 829 requires recognition. We chose Bistro 829 as the location of the wedding rehearsal dinner for our son’s wedding. What ever we were expecting (and we were expecting the food and service to be quite good) was blown away by the level of excellence that was delivered. There were 32 people at the dinner from many parts of the country. Our event began with a cocktail party before dinner. Throughout, the service was excellent … timely but not rushed, cheerful without being intrusive. The drinks were generous and well made… but the star of the show was the FOOD. Simply exceptional.
Our guests were given four entrees to select from – every one of them unique in their preparation and absolutely delicious…all meals came with a marvelous salad, perfectly prepared vegetables and a choice of two fabulous desserts. All meals were served hot and fresh (almost unexpected with that many people). The raves started at first bite and still have not stopped (we are getting comments every time we speak to someone who attended. Everyone at Bistro 829, including Chef Jeff, made the process of planning the evening personalized, easy and enjoyable. The entire experience from planning to paying the bill (which was extremely reasonable!) was a pleasure.
I look forward to our next visit to the Houston area and the opportunity to dine again at Bistro 829. RATING: EXELLENT

MY REVIEW: We went there for our anniversary and it was the best dining decision we have made. Great ambience...definitely a great intimate setting. We went there on a saturday and the place was packed, yet didn't feel overcrowded or noisy. The food was magnificent...try the cobb salad...lettuce was crisp and the dressing was delightful. We had their duck tamales for appetizer...something new-my wife loved it, for me it was OK. Both of us enjoyed our main dish. And ended our dinner experience with a surprise complimentary dessert. Highly recommend this place. Staff was superb! They have a great wine list as well.

MY REVIEW: Great atmosphere! Great wine menu! We ordered the Rack of Lamb and the Filet. the Rack of Lamb was awesome...I was dissapointed in the filet. It was tough if you can believe that. We are chalking it up to one bad cut of meat... Definately going back to give a second try! Waitstaff was incredible! Jazz music was a nice touch!

MY REVIEW: Recently, my wife and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary. We wanted a place that was romantic, but not too stuffy. We decided to act on a friend’s recommendation and try 829 Bistro. We are glad we did!
The waiter was very attentive to our needs. He was very professional, keeping with the upscale atmosphere of the restaurant. He made sure that we had everything that we needed through every course of the meal. Most importantly, he was pleasant and personable.
My wife enjoyed the house salad with a lime vinaigrette dressing followed by Roquefort Snapper. I had a wedged salad followed by the Boar Chop. The salads were fresh and very flavorful. The main course was delicious. The chop was tender and moist – maybe it was the tasty gravy that they put on it. The accompanying vegetables were fresh and crisp, not overcooked.
The treat of the evening was a tasty dessert that the waiter brought to our table in celebration of our anniversary. It was a chocolate cake layered with whipped cream, on a base of raspberry sauce. It was excellent.
We highly recommend this restaurant for its service, food, and delightful live smooth jazz as background music. We definitely chose the right restaurant for our celebration!

MY REVIEW: This has to be the nicest "true" restaurant that we have found in Katy so far.
Everything presented was of high quality and the wait staff acted in a courteous and professional manner. The food was delicious and my wife raved over the martinis.
While this is also probably the quietest and most romantic restaurant in Katy, we were also quickly reminded that you cannot always count on your fellow diners to a maintain that ambiance. Of course, that seems to be a problem everywhere you go now days.

MY REVIEW: If you are looking for something unique in the Katy area, this is definitely place to go. The food is fabulous and the atmosphere is equally great. The waitstaff is very attentive. We love the opening appetizer of crustinis and tomato/cheese spread. It is so good that we packed the leftovers in a to-go box.
It is a little pricey but we always take food home because the servings are so generous.
It has become our favorite place to eat in Katy.

MY REVIEW: I visited this restaurant for the first time today, and I have to say, the steak salad was the best salad I have ever eaten. It was perfectly prepared- the steak medium-rare and the greens very fresh and crisp, with bleu cheese crunbles and a vinaigrette dressing. The baguettes served before the meal were just delicious, too.

MY REVIEW: We cannot say enough about Bistro 829. We have been dining here since they opened a few years ago, got on their wine dinner mailing list, and we attend regularly. It's so nice to have an upscale restaurant in the Katy area where you can dine in a quiet relaxing atmosphere or enjoy the comaraderie with friends at the monthly wine dinner. The staff and menu are both superb! We are always greeted and treated as if we're part of the family. Excellent choice of wines and martinis! The wine dinners are very enjoyable and Jeff's special menus are of the highest quality. Thanks to all of you for making this restaurant "one of a kind!"

MY REVIEW: Bistro 829 serves great food and has a good wine list. I have had almost everything on the menu and here are a few items that really stand out. First the Calamri is the best in Houston. Second the Beef Medalions are prepared several different ways but these are all excellent. Third, make it a point to try the Lemon Cello, which is made by Jason. You will not be disappointed. Simply the best restaurant in Katy and one of the top in Houston.

MY REVIEW: Bistro 829 is simply superb! We've never, ever had a bad experience there. It is charming w/ it's jazz-influenced art and decor (and live jazz band on weekends) and top-notch wait staff. We have taken family and friends there, and they have always been impressed. We usually don't look at the menu, but order one of the specials. We never pass up the spinach salad -- it's to die for, and how many salads can you say that about! They have a nice wine list, reasonable in price, and enough selections to satisfy most people (including my brother who is a wine collector). The bread pudding is great if you have room left for dessert. A real treat to have a restaurant of this caliber right here in Katy!
