MY REVIEW: Best Gyro on the west side, maybe in Houston, and one of the best I have ever had. Not crazy about the old dingy diner, and the old woman is not nice to me despite trying to be really nice to her. But the Gyro is so good, the portions ample for even the heartest of eaters, and the low prices, this is the perfect place to grab a sandwhich or two or take-out. People say the Cuban sandwhich and the special marinaded chicken breast sandwhich are wonderful, but I can't imagine going there and not getting a Gyro.
Mother also likes that they serve the special sauce (Tzatziki) on the side all the time so you can use what you like (every drop of it for me, and 1/3 of it for Mother). The most wonderful combination of Yogurt, cucumbers and dill is the perfect foil for the spicyness of the lamb. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THE GYRO!!! Mother also likes that they give you a choice of side, chips, fries or salad--Mother has the salad, me the chips.

MY REVIEW: I had been meaning to stop here for the longest. Because it is on the south bound side of Fondren and I am usually traveling north for lunch. Tired of the same old burger and fries I finally stopped in. I cannot believe what I have been missing. The owner dressed in his Greek hat told me the story behind his eatery. I had the gyro to try him out, I am already looking forward to trying the Cuban sandwich next. Great ingredients and friendly service make Andros Deli the newset spot on my lunch rotation!!!

MY REVIEW: Not really being much of a "sandwich person" I had driven by this place for years, but never stopped. Well, that was my big loss. This place is just awesome!! Hands down the best tasting and heaftiest Gyro I've ever had. I also decided to grab one of their baklavas... killer!! The prices here also make this place a real winner. The large 'Fat Boy' Po-Boy is just 3.99!! My large Gyro plate with fries was just $5.99. You also feel very comfortable in this place for some reason. Very unpretentious and genuine. The wall-length mediterranean mural adds to the serene feel, as well. This is one of those true old world mom and pop shows. The two of them look to be getting-up in years, though. I sure hope they have someone to carry-on. I remembered seeing a banner out front, for a long time, that said "Old Owners Back". That would lead me to believe that they have already attempted, unsucessfully, to "pass the torch" once before. It's truly going to be a sad day when we lose this place. Load-up while you can!!!

MY REVIEW: Wanted to make a comment about this family place bang for the buck!!! Has a good selection, reasonable prices and good family atmosphere. The old guy is quite a character kinda reminds me of the Ole Greek Sailor Type. The Greek lady of the place is the chef behind the place when she really cooks up a storm!!!! Rice pudding with cinnamon is tasty sweet and powdery to the tip of the tongue is well as the spicy gyros, and bunch of fries that they put on their gyros platter.

MY REVIEW: Cuban sandwich, Gyro ... best in town hands down and the owner Chris is the best ever!! They just don't make places like this anymore and there isn't anyplace in town that couldn't take a lesson from Andros on customer service, food quality AND overall experience satisfaction. Good family Greek deli cafe with something for everyone ... fair prices and superior quality!!

MY REVIEW: Just wanted to make a note here about this place. Reminds me of the good old fashioned Greek family restaraunt. Gyros with a touch of Greek Spice and quarter inch fries are the greatest, also the Chicken Breast sandwich style marinated ala Andros Style is tasty galore not to mention the Cuban Sandwich sweetest Ham and tasty Pork. I always enjoy coming here and visiting Andros.
The elderly couple are so serving and the friendliest of all.

MY REVIEW: It has been said a million times before, but I'll say it again. This place has the best gyros in the city (at least). That's still all I've ever had here, but I will get the Cuban sandwich next time if I can muster the willpower to pass up a gyro. The owner is awesome and has a great sense of humour. I absolutely love this place.

MY REVIEW: Just a word of note for all Greek connoisseurs of eating and drinking
If you are searching for some authentic, Greek dishes. The homemade tangy "zaziki" Greek Yogurt sauce surely be tasted on the tip of your tongue. I always have to get extra portions of zaziki everytime I visit Andros. And with a superb Greek Wine collection we always have to break a bottle open of "Ruby Calliga" derived from the island of Cephalonia. The Caliga wine just sips into the Gyros meat marinating the meat in a very flavored taste. The salad dressing infused with Andros spices one can literally taste a medium that will prolong and enhance your Greek dining experience in this Mom and Pop Shop ala Greek Style.
I strongly recommend Andros Deli for your dining experience.

MY REVIEW: I haven't been in this restaurant in a couple of months because it's little out of the way for me. I forgot how good their gyros were. They are hands down the best in the city. Their cuban sandwiches are wonderful too. I usually order both, eat half of each and take the rest home.
Service is friendly, the owner and his wife are the sweetest people.

MY REVIEW: The original owner "CHRIS & STASI" back again with an original and traditional
family service. Gyros with combined spices served along with heaping plate full of fries is reasonable for the price. The Andros Special with a combination of Sweet Ham, Pork with a Cuban Touch, cheese, with a touch of butter is mouth watering. Also the Greek Chicken Breast marinated with Greek Dressing and Spices also served with quarter inch cut fries is "Second To None"The Greek Salad with the Andros Greek Salad dressing is out of this world. OH! dont forget the homemade rice puddings make daily!! I have been going to Andros since they opened in 1977.
You can't go wrong by going to Andros Deli!!!! Service with a Smile Since 1977.

MY REVIEW: I would definitely recommend this friendly, "mom and pops" restaurant to anyone looking for casual great food. Their gyros are the best ones I've had in a long time. Surprisingly, they also make a killer cuban sandwich that oozes with cheese and pork meat. The prices are low and the portions generous. I'd rather drive there than down the street on Montrose for their Greek food!

MY REVIEW: My girlfriend and I decided to try Andros tonight. We were in the mood for Greek food and the selection in Houston is slim. Andros has some Greek items on the menu as well as some Meditteranean food. We both had the Gyro platter, which consists of a gyro, salad, and fries. The gyro was surprisingly good. Casual atmosphere and casual prices. It was $15 including our drinks. Friendly people, but it doesn't look like they do much business. We were the only people in the restaurant at 8pm. Next time I'm in the mood for a gyro and I'm in the area, I'll go back to Andros.
