Profile Description: Candelari's Pizzeria, the King of Sausages, is not your typical pizzeria. At all five locations across Houston, you'll find great appetizers, fresh salads, delicious pizzas and authentic Italian pastas and entrees. All locations (except Bellaire) offer a daily lunch buffet and happy hour specials. All locations deliver and offer catering services.

MY REVIEW: Pros: pizza took about 10-15 minutes once order was placed.
Cons: Over priced, a large one topping is $20 with 2 cokes. I guess they cant compete with the volume of franchises like Pizza H*ut.
Taste: The pizza was greasy! The cheese was bland, not much for your taste buds.
Take-aways: I would only recommend this place, for convenience.

MY REVIEW: We come for the pizza buffet, very good price for $10 and with salad and a drink. It's a great opportunity to try out all their pizzas. I like their salad dressings too, great for pizza dipping. Casual place.

MY REVIEW: This place can be good sometimes but overall I don't really like it.
1, there is now valet during the evening that takes up most of the parking lot. I personally don't like to valet (and especially in such a lot so near the restaurant it is a waste of time and money) so I had to park across the street 2 blocks down even though the parking lot was practically empty. Why not let people park themselves in the lot if there's room, and valet the rest if they don't want to negotiate the side streets and walk a little? It's a pizza place!
2, The ordering process is weird. I ordered a bottle of beer with my pizza and then had to go pick it up at the bar which took forever because there was another line there. The bar wait is always long because there is only one bar person. She needs a flunkie.
3, It is incredibly loud when the place is full.
4, The pizza can be good but I've found that more is better on their pizzas. With one or two ingredients it just isn't that great, which is different than some of my favorite places where just plain cheese pizza is good.
Overall I don't ever go there unless I'm invited.

MY REVIEW: Delicious, flavorful pizza! Ordered Chicago style with Candelari's own original italian sausage, pepperoni, and mixed veggies. Casual, sports bar atmosphere with TVs in the corners. Nice interior with wood floors and walls. Exterior patio. Attentive, friendly staff. Went on Labor day so it was a quiet meal with no more than a dozen or so customers at any given time. Will return.

MY REVIEW: Absolutely spectacular pizza, great salads/pasta, and even the sandwiches are to die for. Must give a nod to their new Kitchen Manager at the Washington location, friendly, outgoing, knowledgable, I believe his name is Parker. Food quality is excellent, as is the service. Want a gourmet pizza in the Memorial Park/Heights area you won't find a better pizza or better staff.

MY REVIEW: I am from the East Coast and have missed great New York style pizza for years. A friend told me about Candelari's and I tried it and LOVED it. The pizza crust is chewy and delicious, the cheese is the best part and the sauce has just the right combination of sweet and spice. I have also tried the excellent caesar salad, the wonderful lasagna and the new Chicken Venice. It is nice to have a lower fat/low carb option. The management is very friendly and I love the atmosphere. The bar is beautiful and a great place for watching football and other sporting events! Highly recommend this place.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I went on Memorial Day so I am not sure if they had a different crew working. I ordered the chopped salad which was on their "specials board" and was advised after we were at our table that it was last month's special and not available. I ordered a Cesar salad with chicken instead. It was good but I would never go back there. The floors were absolutely littered with napkins and food and I found it difficult to eat. There were kids working the place and wiped down every table with the same dirty rag. I was absolutely nauseated at this. Come on-with all those kids walking around, someone couldn't find the broom?

MY REVIEW: i went there the first time, and fell in love with the place. Really nice atmosphere. The pizza was to die for and the appetizers are awesome. I highly recommend this place over all to any other pizza place in katy or houston for that matter. To those who gave bad reviews, i dont know what planet your from but to complain about silly little stuff, if you cant get up to get some thing you must to lazy. If you want it done your way, then just ask and not expect some one to mind read. 2 Thumbs up over all ..

MY REVIEW: Why, why, why do restaurants feel they have to change the way everybody orders and pays for their food? As soon as you walk into this place, you're accosted by a guy holding menus who has to give you directions on how to order. You can sit anywhere you would like, but then you have to go back up to the counter to place your food and drink orders. Want another beer/wine? Go back up to the counter or to the bar. You've got a nice place there Candelari's - would it kill you to get some waitstaff to come to the tables?
Now, to the food. Appetizers good to very good (had the greek salad and antipasta platter). Pizza was very very bad. Ordered it thin and "extra crispy", but it came out very thick and barely cooked. Think wonder bread consistency and you're close. Sorry, had high hopes but won't be back.

MY REVIEW: We love this place - food and old house look. There has only been one bad experience related to cooking time on delivery of different pizzas to the table. Did not want the pizzas to come in shifts. The mgmt made it right and all was well. The place does get crowded and loud. Sometimes there is a wait to get sit a table.

MY REVIEW: This place has been a disappointment. I don't think they know if they are a Bar, Pizza, or Italian Food Restaurant. I have been there four times. I swear to you this is true: every time I have eaten there, the order was wrong. They cannot get it right, so I gave up. I will not go back for a while, and give them a chance to learn how to run a restaurant. I think the owner is an inexperienced business owner, and is never there, so the inmates are running the place. The food is so-so, and the prices are a little high for me. Hopefully they will get it together.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I just love this pizza, which says alot since we can never agree on pizza. He loves Chicago style stuffed pizza and I like thin NY style. We just moved back from a short stint in Chicago - where everyone thinks Chicago style is the best - and it was a such a pleasure to find a pizza place that my hubby and I can agree on. So far we have had the NY style crust and the thick crust and we are just blown away by the thin crut pizza. The crust is chewy and crispy. The toppings are fresh and their sausage is orginal and fabulous. I'm not always a fan of sausage but I will eat theirs! Give it a try!

MY REVIEW: My wife loves this place, but I am just so-so and go mostly for her. Very good alfredo and chicken, but I simply don't like the sausage they promote so hard with so many items on their menu. Very good salads, and a good house dressing. We go occasionally, but I always have trouble finding something to order unless I fall back on the Chicken Alfred. She, again, loves it and she's Italian - though we have other places we both really like. Nice people, usually busy, but sort of odd parking. A seven to me with good intentions.

MY REVIEW: We just moved to the Bellaire area and with my husband being from New York it is hard to find a pizza to please him. We stoped by to have a slice for lunch but the charming manager talked us into getting a whole pie. He suggested the king something, we were blown away this is truly delicious pizza. I cant wait to try the five grain crust.. Candelaris Pizzeria is for those who know what good pizza should taste like. love it

MY REVIEW: I'm a big fan of Candelari's. We've been going for the last year and although they were some opening quirks all in all I couldn't imagine a better tasting pizza. Everyone is real cool and over-accomadating whenever we're there. The blend of high quality ingredients makes the difference in taste I believe.Their pasta's and sandwiches aren't bad either. I'll be there again, your loss if you're not.

MY REVIEW: I wish I had read these reviews before I went. This pizza is expensive and when quality is as marginal as these other reviews indicate, it's a ripoff that no one needs. Flyers flaunt buying the sausage to take home, so I ordered Papa Albert which had sauage. I couldn't see it anywhere. Some pieces had no other toppings either because of an uneven distribution of sause and cheese, which seems to be a chronic problem listed here. The back of the crust was over 2" wide around most of the periphery, so this is nothing but dry bread. Not for $22. I'm going back to St*ar!!

MY REVIEW: The pizza is great here, just as good, if not better, than S*tar. The porch is big and great to sit out there on a nice day. The service is pleasant and attentive. I have only had their pizza but will definitely be back to try some of their sandwiches/pasta dishes. Highly recommend checking it out.

MY REVIEW: After reading the reviews of the Pizza I was excited to try Candelari's. I was very dissapointed. The sauce was overly spiced and overpowered the Pizza. I would rate the Pizza mediocre to poor. For true pizza addicts Houston has some better choices.

MY REVIEW: For what it is worth, I appreciate it when comparisons are made between a "chain's" different locations. That's why this website allows us to note the specific location of the review via the pulldown menu. Not all locations are created equal; it would not surprise me in the least for a customer to prefer one location over another. The reasons why are appropriate and informative.
However I've only visited the S. Fry Rd. location and it was wonderful - on my one visit. I will return; hopefully it will be consistently good.
By the way, and for what it is worth, there is NO Candelari's Pizzaria in Cinco Ranch. The Katy (S. Fry Rd) location is well south of Cinco.
