MY REVIEW: i love going to cascadas! everyone knows me there!! my bartenders jorge and erika are greatly appreciated. cascadas has the BEST margaritas and great chips and green salsa with chunks of avocado in it! my favorite waiters are Mike & Melissa...great servers! this place is perfect if you want to dine-out on a gorgeous patio and perfect to relax and have a couple drinks inside at the bar. i've recommended SO MANY of my friends here and it has now become one of the favorite chill spots to have yummie food and margaritas!

MY REVIEW: The seven of us returned to Cascadas last night and received good service, smiling staff and lovely mexican food. My cheese enchildas were last to arrive and unfortunately on the cool side. Overall, the food was good and service prompt. The only reservation we have to the restaurant is the noise level inside, too loud. The sound level was so high last night we left promptly. Outside dining is our only alternative now and we will be back again once the weather cools in Houston.

MY REVIEW: I've been to Cascadas twice. The patio is a nice place for a nibble and a drink. The food's not bad and the margaritas ar pretty good. However, pleasant surroundings don't make up for such abysmally slow service. How many times does one have to ask for the check, of all things? Word to the management: If you're still a busy restaurant -- hire some staff!

MY REVIEW: We've been twice. Both times, the food was slow to arrive and the servers were mediocre. I liked the queso, which is strange for me to say, since I think all queso tastes the same. I ordered the same thing both times- chicken mole enchiladas. The first time, they were great. The second time, they were good but a bit hard and chewy. My mom had a plate that consisted of cheesy chicken and rice. It was good. The tres leches is great, but a bit expensive - $6. Overall, I think this restaurant is good but not the best.

MY REVIEW: Cascadas is my family's favorite and most frequently visited restaurant. I can't even begin to guess how many times we've been there; I think we were there on the first day they opened. We LOVE their fresh salsa! It is worth the trip by itself, and is the only one I've ever bought from a restaurant just to take home. They changed to a cooked salsa once, but we implored them to go back to the fresh one (which they eventually did). The food is dependably good and has good variety, but I would like to see some off-menu specials every once in awhile, and maybe some rotation of dishes on the menu. The service is very good usually, but we have had a couple of bad experiences with new waiters in training. But despite any shortcomings (and every place has them), we love Cascadas! The patio is really nice on a clear Spring or Autumn day (best if you aren't in a hurry, just sit back and enjoy the ambience), and the dining room is spacious and comfortable when it's too hot, cold, or wet. We are constantly looking for the "perfect" Mexican restaurant in our area, but have yet to find one we like better than Cascadas.

MY REVIEW: The girls and I love Cascadas!! We try to come here at least once a week. The waterfall is the perfect touch. After a long day at work or school Cascada's hits the spot. We are their margaritas fans! & every dish I have had there was great!

When the sun is out and the breeze is blowing- you'll find a group of 4 girls enjoying the evening!

We love you Cascada's-- truly dear to our hearts!

MY REVIEW: Cascadas is one of our favorite restaurants EVER anyway, but last night's Valentine's Day Special Evening was really one for the books! The restaurant is gorgeous anyway, but the red table covers, candles, and soft music created a truly romantic ambiance that my husband and I enjoyed so much. Our waiter saw to our every need, and gracefully served the delightful 4 course meal. We ordered the chicken poblano, and it was sooo good, but what set it off were the appetizers and soup that came before, and a wonderful warm bread pudding with ice cream that arrived for dessert. Delicious, elegant food in an equally elegant restaurant -- one of Houston's very best in our book!

Great job, Cascadas!

MY REVIEW: First time here for me, hubby & friends, but it won't be our last. Food was excellent. I ordered pollo mole and the mole sauce was perfect - spicy and flavorful, not mild and Americanized like some other Mexican restaurants. Everyone else's food was great too, according to them. Portions were very large. Chips and salsa out of this world, and service and atmosphere wonderful. Can't wait to go back!

MY REVIEW: In my opinion, this fine eating establishment has no weak points. The leading strong point is the food! the food is terrific! always prepared from scratch, and is always fresh. The mexican rice is to die for!!! the Margaritas are great, and Cascadas has an award winning bar! the service is always courteous, and extremely attentive. The ambiance is like no other place. Visit the patio on a cool afternoon or evening, and you will feel like you are dining in a secluded forest with the waterfalls. My family, customers, and I highly recommend it...

MY REVIEW: This restaurant is by far one of the best I have ever been to. Being in the restaurant industry I am extremely picky and notice EVERYTHING. I have been here twice and have yet to find even one thing wrong!

If you haven't eaten here yet, you have no idea what you are missing. The food, service, and ambiance are out of this world!

MY REVIEW: On a nice day eat outside; the ambiance near the waterfalls is wonderful. There is always a cool breeze. Their red pico is very good but the avocado pico is absolutely mouthwatering. I never eat chips and dip, but I do at Cascadas. We had the Casadillas and had to get a take out box. It was way more than enough. The Margareta’s are the best in town. You can even order the flavored kind, strawberry, raspberry, melon, and many other flavors during happy hour. We have tried many other tex-mex restaurants around Houston, but keep returning to Cascadas. Go hungry and thirsty. Happy hour is everyday from 5-7, but on Tuesday it last till 10 pm.

MY REVIEW: After trying pretty much every Tex Mex restaurant on the West side of town, we continue to go back to Cascades. They have above average margaritas, and happy hour on Tuesday lasts until 10:00 so that is the day to go. The food is very good for the price. Be sure to get some corn tortillas with your meal. This is one of the only places I've found that actually makes the corn tortillas fresh, as well as flour. They also have a very nice patio with a waterfall that is relaxing after work.

I really can't say anything bad about Cascades...just a solid all around tex mex restaurant. I'd rate the food a 9, Margaritas an 8, and price a 10.

MY REVIEW: The service was great, the food was delicious, except some of our party, wished that everything was'nt soooo hot. They really pour on the "hot sauce".The meat is oh so tasty, the nacho's were fresh ,hot and delicious. Our party tried several differant "dishes" they were not dissapointed..It is on our list of "favorite" places to eat.My suggestion would be,to put the "hot sauce" on the side, and to have a "milder" sauce for those who does'nt like it so hot..

MY REVIEW: I don't know why, but it seems like every time we tried to eat at Cascadas during the past year or so, it was always on a Monday. They're closed on Mondays. This week, we managed to show up on Tuesday, and it was well worth the wait.

We have driven past Cascadas too many times to think about. Not only on Westheimer, but right in front of the place, up the driveway to its sister restaurant, Cafe C*aspian. Once we got around to noticing Cascadas, and then months later realized it was affiliated with one of our favorite restaurants, we decided to try it.

Having grown up on the border before moving to Houston, I've eaten a lot of Mexican food. Very little of it bad, most of it mediocre, and some of it pretty good. Cascadas, in my opinion, is excellent. There may be three or four others which are on, or close to, par with Cascadas. Two aren't that far down the street, in fact. This one, however, is our new favorite.

The ambiance is nice. We went on a slow night, so it was quiet. The waiter was good. Not superlative, but very little room for improvement. I did notice someone (I think it was our waiter.) at the other end of the room, behind the bar, meticulously polishing glassware, which I think bespeaks an unobtrusive attention to detail.

Come to think if it, isn't "unobtrusive attention to detail" the very definition of a really good waiter? Don't you tend to notice waiters only when they're not doing a very good job, or when they're trying really hard to convince you they're doing a good job?

I ordered fajitas. On a scale of one to ten, I think they were tens. Maybe it wasn't a fair way to start out at a new place serving old familiar cuisine, since you can find great fajitas lots of places. Next time, I'll try something a little less pedestrian.

The thing is, everybody serves chips. They don't, however, all compare favorably with Cascadas' chips. I don't think anybody's are better.

Same with salsa. Everybody's got it. More and more have "stop and go" salsa, these days. I usually don't like the green. I liked both colors, at Cascadas.

So, to say the fajitas fall short of stellar isn't really an insult, since it's kinda hard to achieve an eleven. I certainly enjoyed the combination beef and chicken. Both were flavorful and came in nice big juicy slices. The tortillas I wrapped the meat in were memorable, but hard to describe. Definitely a plus, though.

For me, all borracho or charro beans are mentally compared to what we enjoyed, time after time, at a place which went away maybe ten years ago. Ever since the disappointment of realizing that bean source had been cut off, I've been on a quest for something similar. Unfortunately, Cascadas falls a little short. If the "holy grail" beans are a ten, then the ones at Cascadas are somewhere around a nine. Definitely good.

My wife ordered Aguacates Rellenos; avocados stuffed with shrimp and crab and surrounded by salad. While it's not something I would normally order, my sample of it was good, and I'd consider ordering it next time. Definitely a keeper, and my wife mentioned how good the unique house dressing was on the salad.

Kahlua Mousse Cake. Wow. We were full. Shouldn't have considered a dessert, but some things are just irresistible. This is one of those things. Amazing. Even if the meal had been bland and tasteless, this delight would have been worth the price of admission. Sublime.

This was our first visit, but short of death, there's no way it will be our last!

MY REVIEW: I love Cascadas! The quesadillas are so good and their Pomegranate Margaritas.... Yum!

The only thing they could work on is having more lighting in the outdoor section, and maybe more of a food selection.... but other than that... this place is really great (pretty cheap too!)

I will definitely be back!

MY REVIEW: Cascadas has become our very favorite place to eat ever since we were there for Valentine's Day. The place itself is gorgeous, and sitting out by the waterfall with a Margarita makes me think I am enjoying beautiful Mexico. The wait staff is always friendly and accomodating -- but the food is the BIG draw for us. We love the salsas, and the guacamole is exceptional. The fajitas are the best in town, especially the platter of beef, chicken, shrimp fajitas with beef ribs! I only wish they would increase the serving of rice on the plates. It is the best I have ever had -- flavorful, moist, and pretty to look at! Desserts are fine too, especially the sopapillas and the Tres Leches. I would give this place a 10 in every category!!

MY REVIEW: This is an incredible Mexican restaurant. When the weather is good you can sit outside by the huge waterfall and feel as if you are at a resort. The chicken fajita nachos are outstanding. I can eat them with nothing else and make a meal out of them. I'm very picky about the green sauce and this restaurant has the best I've tasted so far in Houston. The fajitas come out with the chicken sizzling and the sides are wonderful. The service was friendly, prompt and courteous. This is one of my favorite places for Mexican food and I continually come here to enjoy a good meal and a relaxing atmosphere. (Especially when the weather is nice and I can sit outside). I highly recommend you try this restaurant.

MY REVIEW: We love the food at Cascadas. In spite of the sometimes slow service we continue to go back for the food. The atmosphere is attractive but can be very loud. The menu is varied with traditional tex-mex to more interesting entrees. Prices are good and if you go before 7pm drinks are half price. We have noticed the last 2 times we visited that the wait staff had improved greatly. The owners are there on the weekends and try to make your visit as pleasant as possible. This restaurant is highly recommended.

MY REVIEW: This restaurant is great. My first time there was by accident when I went out for dinner with a friend and not knowing where to go, ended up at this place. The food was excellent so was the service, fast and very attentive to all your needs. I took my family and now they rave about the place, the portions are very big, enough for people to share. The service was again awsome and the prices are not expensive. I do not like salsas, but theirs are fresh and tasty, not just a bunch of spicy jalapenos mixed with some tomatoes.

I do recommend this place

MY REVIEW: Margaritas are great. Happy hour until 7 makes them afforable. The chips and green avacado salsa is to die for. Food is good. I think it is a little overpriced for the amount you get. Wait staff is slow.
