The decor was absolutely beautiful -- delicate flower arrangements, small bamboo plants, and none of that tacky junk (little fat Bhuddas, plastic dragons, etc.) that cheapens the look of most Chinese places. Soft music and wood-paneled walls make for a peaceful, elegant ambience. The service was outstanding -- courteous, efficient, and never intrusive. The food was some of the best I've ever had at a Chinese eatery in Houston. The Mongolian Beef was tender and flavorful with just the right balance of spices; the lo mein was fresh, non-greasy, and lightly salted with a generous helping of meats. Best of all were the prices, which were very reasonable and truly less than what I would have expected for such an elegant setting. What an amazing place! I ordered the House Won ton (a wonderful combination of shrimp, chicken, spinach leaves and noodle stuffed with beef) and Shrimp Fried Rice. Overall the food was delicious, with the House Won ton having a surprisingly unique flavor. The Shrimp fried rice was equally as impressive. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner. It's great for takeout, and we like to have a date night here too because it's quiet and cute. The chicken is always tender and lean, and I love the Panda Lo Mein. MY REVIEW: I was scrolling through the B4-EAT listings looking for a good Chinese restaurant with delivery service. I was delighted to find Cafe Panda. Their szechwan spicy dumplings are wonderful as is most everything I've tried. The service is very friendly and helpful and their delivery service is fast and your order is hot. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The food is some of the best in Houston. Lunch gets more crowded than dinner. Some times they have half-price wine at dinner! The chicken dishes are wonderful as are the dishes with prawns (much larger than the regular shrimp dishes). Definitely worth a visit.
