MY REVIEW: I have been going to eat here at least 3 to 5 times a month for over 10 years and today on 6th Aug was the first time I have ever had a problem. when I came in the door I was seated on the Left side. The guy that took me to my table just walked away with out asking what I would like to drink. Then 10 min later a young lady stopped and ask me what I would like to drink. After about 5 min she brought me my glass of Tea. She ask me if I had ordered and I told her NO and she just turned away and walked away. The table next to me on my Left was served twice and no one ask me anything. Then a table in front of me where the couple had just come in about 3 min were ask what they would like to order and a waitperson took their order. She never even looked my way at all. I had at this time been sitting there for over 25 min. This is the first time that I was sit to that side. All the wait staff seem to work on the Right side and not on the left side. To say the least I was and am still a little up set because I sure like their Spring rolls and the sauce. I live over in Missouri City.

MY REVIEW: Three of us had a lunch there Friday, and we were all very pleased. I don't object to being handed the I*hop-style picture menu and fork because our group was not Asian. When we asked for the real menu, it was provided nicely. Two people at an adjacent table questioned the waitress on dozens of menu items, and she patiently and politely explained each one. The service all around was very good.
Our Singapore street noodles were good. The black pepper soft shell crab was fantastic. The crab was fresh and perfectly cooked, and the dish was not oversalted like in many other places. The squid in black bean sauce was very tasty. The squid were fresh, and the vegetables were crisp. Very well done, indeed. We also ordered a shrimp dish with walnuts (forgot the name), and it was really a pleasant surprise. The shrimp still had good seafood flavor, and the ligth sweet walnuts complemented the shrimp well. The fried spring rolls for appetizer were average, but a bit greasy.

MY REVIEW: I've been here many more than 6 times, but since "NOBODY knows my name...", I'll just be happy to check that box.
The food here is really good. It is open late, and often, you will see the chefs from other Chinese / Vietnamese restaurants eating here. Of course the seafood is great, but there are other good dishes here too. The incredible dish to me is the soft shell crab. No one else makes it like this.
The service has never been as bad as it is made out to be here. You can always get someone's attention. HOWEVER, I REALLY hate being handed the "simple" menu, and the forks here. Can't white / Caucasians / non-Asians possibly like authentic Asian food, and eat it with chopsticks? And would I really travel that far if I did not know the difference? Please stop insulting me with that fork...

MY REVIEW: I've been going to this restaurant for years with my family. Ever since I was about eight, I'm seventeen now. Eventually we stopped going less and less and stopped. I recently went with a friend for lunch since I told her that the food was orgasmic (the house special fried rice was at least).
We waited about about ten minutes to be asked for drinks, then about another to get our drinks. I don't really remember how long we had to wait for our food though, probably about fifteen to twenty minutes since we were asked shortly after our drink orders were taken. The rice was just as great as I remembered it, as well as the Imperial rolls and the spring rolls. I would've ordered a Won Ton Noodle soup for us to split, but I didn't feel like forcing my family's usual orders on her.
Like other reviews though, the service was pretty bad. I kind of understand since it was lunch and people usually go out to eat around then, but there were parties that arrived after us and were served earlier. I am not sure if the service was like this when I was a kid, since I usually just played my Game Boy while we waited.
Even though the service wasn't that great, I think it's understandable if waiters have trouble getting to you and such. It depends though, since sometimes we were just ignored when we requested refills. I'd still recommend this restaurant to anyone who'd want cheap and great food. Just order to go if you don't feel like putting up with the service.

MY REVIEW: I am surprised by the reviews on here, as the service we received was quite good. The entrees took a little while to come out, but our soup was right out. I thought the food was really good, especially the fried rice. The portions are not meant to serve a single person, and if you share an entree with one or two people, the price is right and there is enough food for each person to have their fill, and then some.

MY REVIEW: I frequently eat around all of China town and let me tell you, Sinh Sinh still has the best quality/portion food around. True, it may be on the pricier side, but it is well worth it. The service as mentioned is horrible though, but the quality of the food makes it worth while. Sadly, you won't find much service around China town, so if you want to eat authentic Chinese food, don't come to this site and complain because you are not going to get it at any of these places.

MY REVIEW: I visited this restaurant on Sunday for the first time. I was told the food was great, and all though some of the food we ordered was pretty good-especially the bbq pork fried rice, the SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. I have to agree with all the other reviews written.... service is sometimes way more important than the food. Bad food good service you give them a second chance.... poor service ok food- there are millions of other restaurants, specially chinesse. The waitstaff took the order all wrong, obviouslly there is a communication barrier, and they would come with the incorrect food and would leave it there and say "that's what you ordered". Did not care if it was the wrong plate they were bringing...just threw it on the table.... TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, SERVICE... should hire waitstaff that understand English....

MY REVIEW: What a SIN SIN! Waitress was horribly rude and impatient for absolutely no reason. This was our third visit. Two times a couple of years ago we experienced much the same treatment. We hoped by now they had improved after acquiring such poor ratings.
The only indication the owners made any effort was a survey added to the bottom of the bill. It asked 2 questions: rate the food and service on a scale of 1 to 10.
The waitress glared anxiously while we fumbled through purse and pockets for a pen. She had one visible in her front pouch, and I'd be damned if we were going to beg her for it. When I found mine she quickly moved way too close into my comfort zone, hovered over my right shoulder in an attempt to intimidate and interrupt my ratings, and grumbled in Chinese. Before the ink was dry she snatched the bill and ran off.
Another waitress returned the final copy with a pen, said nothing, stared while I signed, grabbed it and swiftly took off.
The good food didn't outweigh the badly behaving staff. Three strikes they're out!

MY REVIEW: Sinh Sinh is located in an area of Bellaire Blvd. where there are at least six restaurants on each block. The competition is fierce - but you'd never know that at Sinh Sinh.
My wife and I went for lunch. We were seated promptly and given menus. At the same time, we placed our drink order. The drinks came about 10 minutes later. Two tables seated after ours were served, had their order placed, and had gotten their food and our waiter still had not even tsken our order. We finally grabbed a waitress and gave her our order. Our waiter was busy chatting with other waiters.
We ordered Vietnamese egg rolls and two plate lunches. The sauce and condiment plate for the egg rolls arrived after 5 minutes but the egg rolls didn't show up until well after the lunch plates. My wife ordered roast pork. It was still red on the inside of most pieces. I had the roast duck/pork combo and it was good. The servings were very adequate in size. My tea was refilled quite regularly by a waitress but our waiter never came back until the he brought the check.
There are too many places with better service and food on Bellaire than Sinh Sinh. We will not be going back.

MY REVIEW: I have only dined in once. No problem with service at that point. The meal took a little long to get, but the waitstaff was prompt and were always back for refills.
Whenever I order from here, its always to-go because it being lunchtime or some other time of convenience for me. Not a whole lot of selection on dishes (would love to see seafood soup on their menu), but what is there is good.
Almost always order the same things each time, walnut chicken. It is very delicious. The sauce is wonderful and the chicken is carmelized to perfection. Love the ample vegetables served too, mushrooms and baby corn are especially wonderful. Other than that, we order the staple Kung Pao or General Tso's. Not inspirational dishes, but fulfilling.
Keep it up with the walnut chicken.
The decor of the restaurant is very modern and relaxed. Love the little butcher's shop attached, and the walls of aquariums are cool too (Check out the geoduck clams, they are so funny looking!).
Will be back (for the walnut chicken of course)!

MY REVIEW: We just moved here from California. Our friends took us to this restaurant called Sinh Sinh, located on Bellaire. We were told Sinh Sinh are under new management and new ownership. My friend were hoping the service and the quality of foods would improved under new ownership. We were disappointed, the food and the service are unacceptable. I asked for a plate from one of the staff, I was told this is not her table or her job and we should ask for our waitress to get it. The steamed fish came out cold after waiting for 40 minutes. We asked our waitress to reheat the fish, we waited for another 25 minutes. It seemed like we are begging for our food. We still pay for our taps plus 15% tips. As a first time customer, my wife and I are extremely disappointed with the service and the management. My relatives are moving to Houston the next few months, I will not recommend this restaurant for them or for anyone unless service is not important to you. There must be a better Chinese restaurant up and down Bellaire.

MY REVIEW: The food is pretty good, but there are better places. However, for the price the portions are pretty small. You can get more and better for cheaper elsewhere.
I have to agree with most people on here. The service is outright horrible. The food was pretty fast, but they were rude when you wanted service, such as getting to go boxes. The waitress did not know that I understand Chinese, because I was conversing with her in English. She stands there and complains about how it isn't her table and she shouldn't have to help us. I begin to speak in Vietnamese with my boyfriend and she begins to eavesdrop because she speaks Vietnamese too then goes on to tell the whole waitstaff in Chinese how we are dumb because she speaks Vietnamese too. Maybe they need to be more focused on service rather than eavesdropping on their customers. The only thing I regret is actually leaving them a tip.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I were in the Bellaire area and decided to pick a resturant we had never eaten at before. Sinh Sinh seemed to be full of people, so we choose it, and I am glad we did. The food was excellent. We did not encounter bad service, like everyone else, but this is probably due to the fact that we were seated on the outer perimeter near the waiters and waitresses. So, my husband's iced tea was always promptly refilled. I will admit though that I had to make eye contact with our waiter to come get our order, at which point he apologized and took it. For a first time visit, all of the food and my hot chrysanthemum tea were delicious. Even after reading about the bad service, I would still return for a second visit just for the food alone.

MY REVIEW: This Chinatown favorite has an enormous selection of items, including both Americanized and more authentic selections. It's a good place to take finicky eaters because there is something for everyone. Although I haven't tried any of the more unusual live seafood items, the dishes I've ordered have been consistently above average. I particularly like the toasted squid, served with pepper and lemon juice, and the "oysters sizzling," but I enjoy the chicken, shrimp, and fried rice dishes as well. Prices are reasonable, at least on the more standard fare, and portions are fairly generous and come with a bucket of steamed rice.
An additional plus to the restaurant is its unusually late-night hours; I believe it is open until about 2 a.m. on some nights, which makes it a nice alternative to fast food places for a late meal.
As others have stated, Sinh Sinh's service is its low point, but when I have visited, the service has never been so bad that it ruined the entire experience. Our party has always been seated promptly, although waiters should do a better job of refilling drinks. During peak hours, the restaurant can also become rather crowded and noisy; it is probably wise to eat a late lunch/early dinner or a late dinner if possible.
