MY REVIEW: My family loves these. They have just the right amount of meat. The best part IS the masa. Flavored perfectly! And not too greasy -- just right. My favorites were the chicharron and the chicken with green salsa. Bought 2 dozen. Seemed pricy but wow, it was worth it! Going back for more!

MY REVIEW: I read the reviews here that complains about too much masa and not enough meat. Possibly because tamale is not my lifelong food (I am Asian), I do not share the need for more meat in my tamales. In fact, I love the plentiful of masa in Dona Tere's tamales. With that said, so far this is the best tamales I've ever tried in my life. Right taste, right consistency and texture, nice size and decent price. i wouldn't change a thing.

MY REVIEW: I liked their tamales a lot,but not worth the drive I went their with my family like around 6:00 in the afternoon. We ordered some chile con queso a while passed when the owner came and said they were out.Later I ordered their tamales,I ordered one more tamale. The owner came again and told me they were all out.He recommended me a plate but I told him no thank you in spanish of course. My mom was having some flautas only 3 came with the plate. My mom wanted another flauta but the owner said they only come in plates if you want one you have to buy the whole plate special. It was really hot no and it was completely desserted when we went not one single table. The food was great but they never had what we wanted and their service sucked. My last visit their

MY REVIEW: Worssttt place ever the tamales had little meat and lotss but lotss of masa. 1.29$ for all that masa is not worth it, and if you want salsa you have to pay extra for it very dissappointed with this place. I eaten mexican tamales and this are wayy off. Don't waste you time not unless you want to eat nothing but masa.

MY REVIEW: Clean and easy to get to heading east on Beechnut. The tamales are huge and cost $1.29 each. Since we are used to Tex-Mex tamales this place was a disappointment to me and my family. Too much masa for us and not enough meat in the beef version; more meat in the chicken and pork versions....bought an extra cup of the verde (green) sauce....you'll need that since the masa gets to be bit dry and mealy...Tex-Mex fans, don't bother. Probably will never visit again and we live very close in the 'hood. Mazeltov

MY REVIEW: I have been always wanting to try this place after passing by so many times, so I finally did. I am so glad for that. I bought two tamales, one chile con carne and the other one chicken in green sauce. These were very nice sized tamales, much larger than B*erryhill and so much better. What everyone seems to be missing is the Mexican coffee. It is a cinnamon flavored coffee that is so good. My total expense for these items were less than $5. Not bad for a full, satisfied meal.

MY REVIEW: This place was good. I have had similar tamales at some El Salvadorian restaurants. But this place is good and inexpensive. No frills. I went for lunch and they were out of some of their tamales. I had a chicken mole tamale which was my favorite. The Jalapeno and Cheese tamal was 2nd best and the pork pretty good. These are not super greasy like most tex-mex tamales. The sweet raisin tamal was ok. Green salsa was excellent but I think salsa should come free with it. I had to pay for salsa which I thought was a bit ridiculous. I will probably go back once in awhile.

MY REVIEW: Small place, only accepts cash. Has hours posted on the door, but not a guarantee that they will actually be open during those hours. I went for the sweet tamales which are WONDERFUL. They were worth the trip! Seemed a bit expensive at $1.00 each, but they are huge! Whereas I can eat three or four thin Tamales - my craving was satisfied after eating just one of these tamales. Tamales were served straight from the steamer and smelled fabulous. I had a hard time waiting until it was cool enough to try it.
Place has only a few tables, and didn't serve much more than tamales - didn't even have soft drinks. I will return for more of the delicious sweet tamales and may get up nerve to try a pork or chicken tamal too.
