MY REVIEW: Hands down the best burger in Baytown. Fast, fresh and handmade. Onion rings are top grade too!

MY REVIEW: "Hands down" the best olde-fashioned hamburger, steak sandwich, onion rings, french fries & shakes in Baytown. I have enjoyed their food and service for many years. Everything is prepared "right in front" of you. You can order & dine inside or outside on picnic tables under their canopy. The prices are very reasonable.

MY REVIEW: This is just a good fast food burger. No two ways about it. I think my favorite is the steak sandwich. I, too, have gone here for years and years...and it's always consistent.
Nice folks who own it and work there, too.

MY REVIEW: If you've been around long enough to have been a teenager in the 50s or 60s, then you will remember having a burger exactly like a Someburger. In fact, I had my 1st in 1966 in Baytown at the same location where, today, I enjoyed a little slice of heaven once again.
Same retro burger: meat that doesn't have that "compacted" consistency, buns grilled hot & to perfection, hand-cut fries. Even the building is the same as I remember it 40 plus years ago. About the only change is the price, which of course, has gone up to reflect current pricing. I honestly don't remember what I paid for my double meat basket. But even if it were a buck or two more than W*hataburger, the quality of a Someburger is worth it.
The fries are fresh and cut on-site. The buns are grilled on both sides and served very hot. But the main difference is the meat. Sure, it's only a 1/4 lb., like the chains, but the meat is so much better. The patty is probably hand-formed and has a loose consistency (crumbly)which makes it fall-apart tender, but not greasy. If you want a burger that will transport you back 40-50 years to your (misspent) youth, this is your place!

MY REVIEW: When I first started going here, I really enjoyed everything. The more I visited though, the less and less I enjoyed my visits. The young staff is not friendly at all, with the exception of one or two employees who I noticed are not working there anymore, the quality of the food has gone down, and the prices have gone up significantly.
During my last visit (and it will stay that way), my food was overcooked and not tasty at all. Also, it was a good 45 minutes until closing time and the chairs were already put up. As I left unsatisfied with my meal, a worker locked the door behind me, with 25 minutes left until closing time. This used to be one of my favorite places to go, but I will find a better quality place to spend my money.

MY REVIEW: Toasted buns, fresh meat & fixings, great fries. Quick & simple with friendly service. Take out only (this is a burger "stand"), and a darned good one at that! I would rate it as one of the top 10 basic burgers in Houston. I will be back.

MY REVIEW: Great little Hamburger Joint, real Fries and grilled buns...they way they used to make them. Used to go here with my girlfriend on lunch from Robert E Lee High School in 1966...40 years later and we're STILL going there and the food is as good as ever...but if you have acquired a taste for fast food from the drive thrus...you probably won't appreciate a REAL BURGER and fries. Try the onion rings...yummy! Worth the 100 mile round trip we have to make.

MY REVIEW: I've been a huge fan of the iconic little hamburger stand on 11th street in the Heights for years now. The burgers remind me of when I was a teen in the 50s, standing around in the parking lot of a hamburger stand just like that listening to KILT or KNUZ playing Bill Haley and the Comets or Little Richard on tinny little speakers mounted under the eaves. The patties are thin, 1950s style; this is not a place you'll like if you want bloody juices running down your chin when you bite into a burger. But the food is always very hot off the grill (so hot in fact even the buns could singe your tongue) and fresh. The place is so small, they probably have to restock practically every day.
I was doing some research at the Sterling Library in Baytown and was absolutely amazed to see another Someburger across the street. It's in a 1960s era building and even has an indoor, air conditioned eating area. It's owned by the brother of the man who owns the one in the Heights. They even have a website with some of the history of the chain which was started by a couple of students at UT in Austin in the 1950s.
Its just east of the intersection of Texas and Decker in beautiful downtown Baytown.

MY REVIEW: I have lived in the Heights for almost 6 years and eat at Someburger often. It's not a gourmet burger - just the old fashioned kind of toasted bun, thin patty hamburger we had as kids. They are hot, right-off-the-grill burgers that are as good as you can get. Several reviewers asked about adding onion rings to the menu. They have good onion rings, but you have to ask. The service is inconsistent, especially around busy times. This is not a place you go to for the ambience, so deal with it.

MY REVIEW: Tried this place after moving to the Heights and my realtor said it was a local standard.
The hamburger was good but not anything to write home about. S*keeter's makes a much better bacon double cheeseburger for just a buck more. If I ever come back will try other menu items instead.

MY REVIEW: Very good and fresh burgers. I have been eating at Someburger since I was 11 years old and now I am raising my little ones on them. The service is not always the best but if you call ahead your wait is very short. We always order the burgers and fries. I have had the grilled chicken sandwich before and it was huge and very good as well. YUMMY!

MY REVIEW: I have been to someburger twice. The food was good but not great. The staff was rude and tempermental. The order taker did not provide a menu nor was there one in view. The cashier gave me my total and it sounded made up.I asked to see a menu and she gave me one. The amount due that she gave me was incorrect. She had over charged me. If you look you will notice a sign that says Count your Change. The woman taking my order acted like she didn't want to be there. I asked for 5 packets of ketchup and was given 2. Overall terrible service and lots of attitude. I will not return.

MY REVIEW: Today we tried Someburger for the first time after moving into the Heights a few months ago. We enjoyed it a lot! The best thing about the burgers, as compared to S*nic or Wh*taburger is that they are HOT and the veggies are fresh. No green tomatoes or brown lettuce.
I had a Someburger with cheese, no onion, and with mayo. VERY GOOD! I like that they toasted the bun. We also split a chocolate shake, which was very good. My daughter had a corndog, which she devoured (I did not taste it, so I can't really attest to its quality--she will eat anything!) and we had an order of onion rings. Those, also, were delicious and not too greasy.
We even sat out at the picnic tables and my daughter had a great time talking to the little girl at the next table and watching the pigeons. If that atmosphere doesn't work for you, grab your bagged food and head to a nearby park.
