MY REVIEW: This place has gone so downhill since ownership has changed. The new owner is disrespectful and doesn't know anything about customer service. The hours are inconsistent: when their supposed to be open, they are closed...this has happened several times. The drinks, which used to be great, are watered down and lack flavor, which you wouldn't expect for paying a premium price. Avoid the Milam location. The downtown location is still being run by the old owner and everything is still good over there.

MY REVIEW: I love this place!

I go there about 3-4 times a week. They have a new lunch menu now and I love their Vietnamese Sandwich and Vermicelli Bowls. Everytime I go in there I get friendly service. Tapioca is the best in town here. Coffee is sooooo much better then S*tarbucks.

MY REVIEW: The workers are nice, and the drinks are sooo good. My personal favorite is the frozen caramel coffee, but all of the drinks I've tried are good. If you're not into coffee, they also have fruit smoothies and teas. The strawberry pina colada fruit smoothie is very good. I'm a huge fan of this place and have gotten a few of my friends hooked as well.

MY REVIEW: I'm glad to finally find a coffee shop with so much variety. I always get what i want....and made exactly how i want it. Coffee is a bit bitter, but hey coffee is coffee...you add the flavor right (sugars/ect.)? Smoothies taste so refreshing...especially since it is real fruit. The teas are a real quencher...and so many to chose from! Sushi is a plus since I'm eating on the healthy side. The staff brings comfort to the bar and I look forward to my visits there. Not sure about the midtown store but the main street one i love.

thanks!

Try the rainbow jellies!!!!

MY REVIEW: I stepped in this tea bar a few months ago but left before ordering because of the overwhelming number of choices and lack of help. (I usually go to K*okoro Teahouse where you can just point to picture of the one you want.) Last week I tried Tropioca again and had a delightful experience. I had the featured strawberry black tea and vietnamese sandwich. I loved it so much that I planned on having lunch there twice a week. When I went back with a friend the next week however, our tea had no taste and was a pale color. When they remade it, it was just okay and did not taste any strawberry. Even though we ordered the same tea, the two looked completely different. Also the sandwich had very little filling in it. When opened up,there was not even filling in each bite. The clerk said it was supposed to be that way..I was very disappointed because I had thought it was going to be a great spot. P.S. The "contact us" link on their website does not work.

MY REVIEW: Extremely SLOW service and non-educated staff when it comes to the bubble tea. The person making the bubble tea had no idea how to make the iced coffee bubble tea. Took nearly 15 minutes to get my order. When I received it, it was extremely watery, no flavor, horrible!

Sushi is good and fresh - brought in daily from Cafe J*apon, breakfast is good too, but don't count on good service. There is none at this location.

Go for the food and skip the drinks, always takes more than 10 minutes to get your order. Staff not helpful at all.

MY REVIEW: I've been coming to Tropioca for years and I must say, the people are very friendly and the drinks are bombdiggity, but the artwork.....shoot.....I can so draw hearts at home and sell it for over 200 bucks. LOL. Hey, it's something to cover the walls. Great place to do work! I highly reccomend! Call Jr. JUNIOR BACON CHEESEBURGER and Brandon G-MAN. THEY love being called that. Might even give you some free additives. HAHA/ j/k

MY REVIEW: My classmate was having a study group meeting there. When I first walked in I noticed the different artwork that was hanging up. It was definately interesting since the painters are kids currently in prison. The study group meets there often because of the location and the space. A staff recoomended something (not on the menu) called "everything yellow" which is mango, passionfruit, and peaches. I have to say... IT WAS Goood! Take the lid off and drink it without the straw. Seriously, your mouth will thank you.

MY REVIEW: Eh, it wasn't too bad, but just not what I thought it would be. The smoothie I drank was ok, but the price was a little high. Surely if it was high, it should be really really good, and that just wasn't the case. I'll take a pass on this place for now.

MY REVIEW: I've been coming here regularly for over a year now. Lately, there really aren't many friendly people working there anymore with the exception of Dave, Jr. and Jennifer. As others have mentioned, dealing with some of the employees can be a drag.

The "bunny butt" card is a bit disappointing as after spending around $40 on drinks, they'll still charge you the difference if you want a large v. a tall and also charge you .25 for tapioca... that kind of nickel and dime mentality just turns me off. Still managed to go through about 10 of the cards though...

Drink consistency varies. Overall, the frozen drinks are pretty good. The food's ok, you get what you pay for. One interesting thing is that they don't care if you bring in outside food (even the employees do so) and there are numerous inexpensive restaurants within walking distance (mostly vietnamese).

The atmosphere is nice with the exception of the occassional bum who wanders in off the street to beg. The free wireless is what keeps me coming back - it gets bogged down sometimes but is quite reliable. Sometimes the scenery is nice too...

MY REVIEW: I love drinks with the tapioca balls, but if you are not familiar with the drinks or flavors, I hope you get a friendly clerk. Last week, I stopped by and the counter girl was so curt and cold that she offered NO help. I tried the "red berries" drink and she asked me if I wanted it "sweet?" I wanted to ask her if it wasn't naturally sweet, but she was so unfriendly that I didn't think she wanted any questions. It was aweul!! I expected it would have ice in it, if not be a slush, but it was just bitter! When this place was new, they were very helpful providing info and suggestions; caring that customers got something they would like. Now, they must be satisfied with the customers they already and feel they don't need to be outgoing and helpful. Unless you can act like a "regular customer" now, it is easy to feel out of place here. I'll toss my "frequent card" with 6 stamps and go back to the tea houses on Bellaire in Chinatown. I'll never get the 10 stamps for a free drink here.

MY REVIEW: Wonderful place hidden in a shopping center near downtown. The people are friendly and service is prompt. They have wonderful smoothies, coffee, tea, and sandwiches. Prices are very reasonable ($3.50 - $4.00) for a drink--you get to choose your straw color. :) Nice decor/atmosphere, very clean---great place to study or play a boardgame with friends. I wish Tropioca wasn't so "hidden" as business would be even better downtown! Parking can be hectic during lunchtime. 10 punches on your "Bunny Butt Card" earns you a free drink! This is one of my favorite places.

MY REVIEW: Ok I went today and had the china black milk tea and it was really good! However this time there weren't many cute chics there so my friend & I were quite disappointed. :-( I give it A- for the milk tea and C+ for the chics.

2808 Milam St, Houston, Texas 77006  713.737.7111

MY REVIEW: I didn't particularly care for this place - I had the Thai Tea w/tapioca and it was way too sweet, and the tapioca did not taste very good. At other places, particularly those in the Chinatown (Bellaire area) they have imported tapioca machines from either Taiwan or China and therefore have authentic-tasting tapioca. The tapioca at Tropioca tasted like it was pre-made. I've also had their flagship drink the Tropioca, and it was too fragrant for me. I KNOW it was Jasmine tea, and if I wanted Jasmine tea I'd have asked for it - the name should say it was Jasmine tea, and not fool me into thinking it was some exotic drink. The reason I went twice was because I thought the first time was a fluke. It's got great atmosphere and lots of cute girls though, so I would hang out there but not for the drinks. Yeah the girls are awesome there...wow

MY REVIEW: Okei i LIVE at tropioca. all the employees and even the customers know me by face if not by name. and everyone's so friendly. i go there morning, noon, even, night--they open till 2am and cater to students. i study there and socialize there. i have tried everything on the menu...even every combination. i have spent a fortune--prolly all of my college loans, on these yummy-to die for drinks. my favorite, the very fattening avocado, the pina colada, or the strawberry peach smoothie. the white mochaccino is a killer. YUM! if you don't like the one you got then they'll make u a new one. if you fill up your bunny butt cards, you get a free drink. i've had 2. =P you should try this place. the whole place is very cute. oh but don't fall asleep on the very comfortable counch. the employees tend to play jokes on nappers. hehe!

MY REVIEW: I am a coffee addict, and adding tapioca balls to my cup of icy, cold java always hits the spot! The fruit slushies are not packed with sugary, artificial fruit syrups so calories are sooooooo much lower! (I have to watch my figure!)

The staffs there are awesome because they are generous with the servings. I really hate coffee and smoothie shops that charges you $3 to $6 for a cup that they don't even fill up!!! Not to mention the places that tries to make my drinks look full by filling it with just ice. It's ridiculous!

MY REVIEW: Best looking tapioca shop I've been to. Excellent ambiance! Looks like [the big coffee chain] inside. Their the only tapioca place that has an actual coffee bar. My favorite drink is the frozen white mocha with tapioca. When I really need a fix, I get their espresso slammer! (That’s 4 shots espresso and condensed milk) They also have bands and DJ's on weekend too. Not to mention they are open late also.

MY REVIEW: I can't get enough of their drinks, its the best in town as far as I know. Once you get a taste of the good stuff there is no going back to that powder and syrup stuff I've been getting in Chinatown. My favorite drinks with tapioca are frozen white mocha (kicks [big coffee chain] *##!!) and thier passion fruit mango is to die for. Oh yea, their china black milk tea is the best too. As for the ambiance, its awesome....it has a very warm and cozy look. I go there all the time for my daily cram sessions and the free wireless internet. They also have the best Tiramisu and green tea ice cream in town!
