MY REVIEW: 01-31-2013. 7:15 PM. Out of turkey, chicken & ribs (!). Ribs were still advertised as the special of the day. Prices are high - chopped beef sandwich $8 and change. All portions are small. Quality fair on average (not above), but inconsistent. Overpriced on both counts. Service fair. Paid almost $50 for dinner for a family of four, oldest son's (age 9) meal didn't arrive. "We told him we were out of ribs". Our fault, we should have caught that one, thus the chopped beef sandwich ten minutes later. Fried items were all dry. Clean appearance in and out, though. Management aloof and unconcerned when shortages mentioned. This location is definitely on our "NEVER AGAIN" list.

MY REVIEW: Yummy BBQ in Katy! The sides are awesome too! I love the cream style corn made from scratch with real cream. The meats are very tender! Lots to choose from! You won't be disapointed!

MY REVIEW: Great Ribs! My husband, a BBQ snob, even liked them as well as the BBQ sauce. We ordered take-out the first time. Next time we'll for sure dine at the restaurant.

MY REVIEW: First time visit and won't be the last. Good BBQ at a reasonable price. We tried the brisket, ribs, and pulled pork - all were good. As far as the sides go they are superior to S*pr*ing Cre*ek!s (although that is not saying much). We enjoyed this first visit and will return to try it again; as well as sample some of the other choices.

MY REVIEW: Best ribs I think I've ever had. So tender! The chicken is outstanding as well. I really like the BBQ sauce served warm in squirt bottles. The sides are "so-so" - the pinto beans are pretty bland. I had the green beans this week and they were ver flavorable. Service is very friendly, restaurant is always super clean. We really enjoy going there!

MY REVIEW: Wow excellent ribs. They are cooked perfectly, smoke ring throughout, excellent rub on them too. Brisket was good but a little dry. Sides were also very good with a large selection. Could give you a little more brisket on the 2-meat plate. Will be back for sure!

MY REVIEW: The restaurant was clean, well organized. The service people were friendly and efficient. I had a two meat plate. Both the brisket and the ribs had good flavor, but were a little too dry for my tastw. I prefer ribs that have just started to release from the bone. The potato salad tasted like it might have been in the fridge for a couple of days and picked up some off flavors. The slaw was tasty.
I will try again.

MY REVIEW: Ordered sliced brisket, pork loin and chicken to go. All very good. I didn't ask for it, but they sliced the brisket from the fatty end, which I prefer. While I waiting for my order to be boxed, I noticed some non-BBQ items being delivered to tables that looked good. There's a lot of variety to be had here and I need to return soon to try. I saw some stuffed shrimp, but couldn't locate this item on the menu. Nice to be able to get good BBQ this close to home.

MY REVIEW: Enjoyed the brisket and turkey, sausage was OK. Liked the mayo-based potato salad rather than the mustard-based served in most places. Pinto beans were just OK - needed more seasoning. Cornbread served with the meal would have been much better if it wasn't served cold. Service was friendly although we asked for a to-go box but never got it - had to go get it ourselves. Will give it another try.

MY REVIEW: First visit to Katy location. The brisket was tender, the sides were tasty and the tea fresh brewed. Restaurant was very clean. Staff very nice and friendly. Honored my coupon graciously. I am anxious to go back and try the chicken fried steak and the burgers.

MY REVIEW: Ordered a very large to go order, 29 orders. To begin with we were charged for an extra potato which we did not order. Rather than void the ticket, we agreed to accept two slices of pie as replacement for the potato price. When we arrived at work to distribute the orders, lo and behold, we were short one chopped brisket sandwich, 7 potatoes were ordered with chives, only 3 had chives, 6 potatoes were ordered with sour cream, only 4 had sour cream. One potato was ordered with jalapenos, there were not jalapenos. The potatoes which did have sour cream, only had a minute amount.
When I called to speak with them about this after luncheon, I was informed I could back down and pick up the sandwich. I explained this was a department luncheon and a person had to go without their lunch. The best they can do is take my name and I can pick up the sandwich on my next visit.
Stuffed potatoes cost an average of $8.89 which is high, especially considering you do not get them your way, but their way.
I am not a happy customer, and will not recommend this restaurant to others, especially on large orders. Perhaps they should only do parties of less than 3 persons.

MY REVIEW: We went to RRBBQ for a family gathering. Having never been there before, I went to their website to check out their menu. I printed a $5 off coupon from their tab "special offers" which they refused to accept. Seems that I needed to purchase $25 worth of food and it had expired 4/31/10 (THERE ARE ONLY 30 DAYS IN APRIL). GERRY, the gm, came out to explain their problem and told me he would honor my coupon on my next visit.
I ordered the chicken "smothered" in pepper jack cheese (a slice), mushrooms (a few), onions (lots), and jalapeno slices (a few). My husband ordered the 3 meat plate and said it was average. The salad bar was typical. The waiters were wiping all around us as we sat, even though it was not late nor crowded.
Needless to say, we won't be going back to redeem any type of coupon. We will stay in Texas City and eat BBQ at G*us's or G*rand Prize, where the customer is always treated special and coupons accepted.

MY REVIEW: On previous visits the sliced brisket and sausage were ok, not bad but not great either. Today their sign advertised BBQ chicken plate for $7.25, so I decided to try something other than brisket and sausage. BBQ chicken, fries and onion rings were awesome! That bird was as good as any I have ever had. The fries were hand-cut, not frozen, and onion rings were made on site. An unexpected surprise was a square of homemade cornbread.
I remember on a previous visit getting a sausage sandwich on a cold bun and having to go to the salad bar for cold BBQ sauce to put on my cold bun. Today the sauce was delivered to the table warm. It's good---slightly thick, smokey with just a hint of sweetness.
This place is clean, has interesting decorations, has a large menu and turns out killer chicken. I need to return soon to see if the brisket, sausage and ribs are up to the standard set by the chicken.

MY REVIEW: OMG, I LOVE this place! They have the best mac & cheese and potato salad around. My husband and son love the pinto beans and cornbread. Not a big fan of the desserts...they're just kind of blah and don't really seem homemade but the rest of the menu is awesome.

MY REVIEW: The walls are plastered with all the awards they won for the best BBQ in Texas. I wouldn't know because I don't eat meat but they have the best damn stuffed potatoes. These potatoes are about 7" long and are fat. You can go to the potato bar and stuff it with whatever you want, and unlike so many places, you will not get fake bacon bits here which I do like to sprinkle the real bits on. I get the baked sweet potato, a crowd favorite if you look around to see what others are eating.
On another visit I had the Shrimp dish and oh it was good. The nightly crowds speak for itself. Real nice place.
