MY REVIEW: I can't say anything negative about Babbo's. It is fab. We are there 1-2 times a month. Just about everything on the menu has been tried and enjoyed. I have to admit that their special are extroidinarry. I usually don't bother to complement the chef, but have done so on many an occasion.

The ambiance is wonderful too. Depending on your mood, the ambiance can be romantic for just the 2 of you or family friendly. I have gone dressed to the hilt and in jeans and have always felt comfortable.

Their wine list and bar are quite extensive as well. ENJOY!!!!!

MY REVIEW: Stopped by today, since they resumed lunch hours. The special, escolar white tuna (flown in from Hawaii) was cooked to perfection!!! It had a basil cream sauce, sauteed vegetables, baby lettuce greens and mashed potatoes. Presentation was magnificent! I was very tempted to take a photo of the plate! Chef Stefano stopped by the table to make sure we were pleased with the meals. My wife also enjoyed her favorite, the hand made lasagna. Parking can be a pain, but WELL worth it!!!! Lunch prices are VERY reasonable for the fresh food served! Always check the daily specials!!!

MY REVIEW: Had seen this restaurant from the bank across the street several times and finally decided to try it. Very pleasantly surprised! White tablecloths, excellent waiters, VERY good food! Portions were just right, presentation was very pleasing. Even our picky 15-year old son found something he thouroughly enjoyed. Felt we were a little underdressed in our jeans and t-shirts! Will know better next time.

MY REVIEW: Having lived in a cosmopolitan city before now, I am sick of chains and thrilled to have this independently owned restaurant in the area. The complaints of it being in a strip mall are ridiculous... what else is there in the suburban wasteland of Friendswood (AKA Stepford)? We went there one Sunday evening and the place was nearly empty, but the staff were in good spirits and didn't rush us. Decor is warm and comfortable-modern. I had a shrimp and crab dish that was first rate, an excellent martini, and my husband had a veal dish that he rhapsodized over. The pasta was perfectly el dente and served on the side -- unusual and a great idea, salad was pre-prepared but still fresh and not all iceberg lettuce like F*renchie's (the worst), the bread was served warm, thankyou thankyou. Will be back soon!

MY REVIEW: We stopped in to check out the new place on New Year's Eve. We had drinks and ordered calamari and the flour-less chocolate cake for dessert. The bartender was constantly complaining about the fact that he was supposed to get off at 8 and it was after 9 and he had a party to go to. The calamari tasted average but the presentation was LESS than impressive. A plate with a large bowl placed in the center with calamari around the rim for $14, you have got to be kidding me. Finally came dessert, I missed the $10 price tag but that was OK if it was going to be a hit! As luck would have it for our evening at Babbo Bruno's it was a total miss. The cake was completely dried out and had the texture of being over microwaved. The ice cream that accompanied it was not complimentary in the least. With that kind of price tag I would expect much, much better. Last but not least BB is a smoke free restaurant, however while sitting at the bar waiting for our bill I began to smell cigarette smoke. Odd, but whatever. As it turns out the hostess that greeted us when we came in was standing outside the front doors having a smoke. Real nice.

MY REVIEW: I have no idea why people complain so much about this place. It has always treated me well and I enjoy coming to this place more then most of "you people" that complain about this place. Maybe you should just stick to the O*live Garden or M*cDonalds instead. I hear they have a great dollar menu for people that can't enjoy food.

MY REVIEW: This was our first visit at the new place. The new decor and place is very nice. However, the food was very disappointing. The menu has some interesting new items but their preparation was more in line what we would expect from O*live Garden. The server was not that great - he did ok, but not what you would expect from this place. It was bad enough that we don't think we will give them another try - and we really liked their old place.

MY REVIEW: Classical Italian cuisine with white table cloths, intimate dining. We love the food and service. Hint, arrive around 8:30pm or so to seat faster if you want to, but sit at the bar and take in the atmosphere, very European. This is a treasure and is a popular place. Food is excellent. New location to open soon just down a little ways on 528 (Nasa 1 west to Friendswood).

MY REVIEW: Babbo Bruno is absolutely fabulous! Finest ambiance in the Houston area. Ambiance is great but when you also back it up with extraordinary food you have a match made in heaven. Not only do I dine there every chance I get, I have also recently used them for catering. Their catering is divine. They are opening a new location near 518 & 528 in Friendswood. I recommend that if you have not treated yourself to an evening of pure elegance, YOU SHOULD!

MY REVIEW: I have been going to Babbo Bruno's for years. The quality of food is very good, but the portion sizes can be very small. Last night I ordered the salmon dinner. I got a 3 - 4 ounce piece of salmon and was charged $29. Yikes! The lesson learned is: ask the cost for the evening specials and also serving size prior to ordering. I hate to do this, but I don't like feeling like I was ripped off.

MY REVIEW: Went for the first ... and last ... time last Thursday evening. Most of the food was good (although the tiramisu was a big disappointment), but the service was HORRIBLE. Our waiter started out OK but got continually worse. The last straw was when we asked for our check ... our waiter was around but would never come back to our table. After waiting 15 minutes for our check, we finally asked the hostess how to get our check. She had another waiter get it for us and take our payment. Bad service is unacceptable and WE WILL NOT GO BACK.

MY REVIEW: i ablsolutely LOVE this place! I am not an italian food person thats what took me so long to get in there. However, i found MANY other dishes i love and the cater to my every need with no hesitation. I am a health freak and i have found a great dish there that is great for my lifestyle...the staff is great, the bartender is a gem and the owners are awesome! They have a GREAT wine selection...Hope you go check it out because its incredible. Though i am not a sweet eater. There flourless chocolate cake is to die for! thank you for a great loacl restuarnt with 5 star atmosphere and class!

MY REVIEW: I love this resturant! It's my favorite in the clear lake area. The food is delicious, the waiters are on the ball, and the prices are inline for the quality of food and the service. The desserts are wonderful, and I love how many diffrent sauces they use for the diffrent entrees, unlike other itailian resturants who use the same "tomamto sauce" for everything. If you want the best service go on a week day or early evening, it gets really full later in the evenings expecially on the weekends.

MY REVIEW: Very nice and classy place. The food was absolutely delicious and it arrived on time. The waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. We were seated immediately and the service was fast. The place was small and cozy. It is perfect for an intimate dinner. My wife and I enjoyed our visit very much. We plan to visit there again very soon.

MY REVIEW: Nice white tablecloth place. Sure, it's in a strip center, but they have done a good job decorating inside and out. Waitress (very classy) was attentive and knowledgeable. Started with appetiser of crab cakes, not very good, not Maryland-style. But main courses were tasty and serving size ample. Wife had pasta with a good pesto and large grilled shrimp. My spaghetti was in a delicious, rich cream sauce topped with generous serving of fresh lump crab meat. Three varieties of bread and cold, crisp salad added to a fine meal (if you don't count the crab cakes). Finished up by sharing an interesting flourless chocolate cake. Waitress told us about 3-4 specials of the day. They sounded pricey, but the pasta dishes we ordered that were regular menu items were about what you'd expect to pay at any nicer Italian restuarant. But I should've sent the crab cakes back and saved that $10.

MY REVIEW: I took my teenage son to lunch there. We were both very impressed. It's a small place but very authentic decor inside and out. Very elegant but welcoming. I loved it! The food was awesome! The service was really great - our waitress was very attentive and professional. I am planning to see if I can get our next staff luncheon held here.

MY REVIEW: We stopped in for a late lunch, early dinner on Mother's Day. We'd originally intened to eat at Kemah since we were in the area already. We found ourselves drenched by the thunderstorm in Kemah. We were soaked to the bone and all of the resturants had a 1 1/2+ wait time. We found Babbo Bruno by sheer luck. Regardless of not being dressed for dinner (and soaking wet) in an nice small restaurant we were quickly seated. The complimentary drinks for my wife and my mother was a nice touch, and the complimentary bread assortment was nicer. We ordered entree' specials which came out very quickly. Everyone's dish looked (and tasted) amazing. Nice Non-Americanized items on the menu. Service was very attentive, so I can't really comment on bad service at all. Everything seemed to be made from scratch even though dishes arrived quickly. Pasta was weightless and meats were flavorful. I am a Chef working in a Zagat rated restaurant in Houston. I know good tasting and well presented food when I see it. We'll be back for sure. Molte Grazie!

MY REVIEW: Been here a few times. Usually for lunch which is ok. Fairly quick and as good as O*live Garden and reasonably priced. Last time went for dinner. A complete change. Food is fairly good although a bit pricey. Service is slow. The bartender was incompetent. Had to send a bellini back 2 times. Finally just drank it. May or may not go back

MY REVIEW: Believe all of the reviews you see here about poor service. We sat for 20 minutes and were not waited on, then ended up leaving. It was not particularly busy, and a waitress would continually say "I'll be right with you" even as she waited on other tables that arrived after us.

MY REVIEW: DO NOT ORDER THE SPECIAL! I can only say that I was left with a very sour taste in the mouth following our visit. Actually I could barely see too. The smoke from the kitchen was making most of our group cough and splutter so much we could barely taste the food. Whilst ordering I was offered the "signature dish" of the restaurant - Lamb chops in Gorgonzola sauce served with mashed potatoes (sounds interesting). To be fare my Carpaccio starter was OK, if a little chilled and sliced a little too thick! The lamb arrived - it was four tiny cutlets placed on a plate the size of Texas. I almost had to take a taxi from the meat to the potato! No, seriously, I also only had a tiny dollop of mash too - perhaps they were running low. Anyway I let this pass, the wine was reasonable for the sort of place we were in. Then the bill arrived - the lamb cost $42 alone. I kid you not, $42 for lamb served in a strip mall! The restaurant is part of a strip mall and serves tiny portions of lamb for $42 - don't go here. Unless you like to pay lots for tiny portions of lamb. There was no warning about the price. Nothing else on the menu was above $30 I seem to remember. The service was OK, we only needed to send back my girlfriend's pasta once - a plain bowl of pasta, no dressing - $12!!!!!

I will never go here again, even if someone else is paying. Thanks for a ruined evening.

MY REVIEW: Used to be one of my favorite places. Recently went there and it was a disaster. Service was poor (I had no fork and my wife dropped hers - after asking several people I finally got up to get one!). But I had no fork because it had gone back with my dinner - a nice chicken dinner where after 2 terrible bites I realized it was RAW. RAW chicken. Oh that is great. But that wasn't what bothered me. I realize mistakes can happen but they just said "ooops". There was no effort to try to make it right.

MY REVIEW: Outstanding restaurant!! My new favorite place! The house wine was excellent, the food melt-in-your-mouth delish and the atmosphere lovely! So glad we found this wonderful restaurant (which reminds me of home, in Northern Italy!) Loved the Fritto Misto!

MY REVIEW: The food was outstanding and the wine list was interesting. Unfortunately the servers were overwhelmed on this Friday night. We turned down the chance to sit right next to the front door, and waited about 15 minutes. We were then seated at a table next to the door that accesses the outdoor patio seating area...on a cool night we didn't figure anyone would sit outside. If I had a nickel for every time the door was slammed coming or going, mostly by employees, I could eat here every night. The service was painfully slow, although pleasant. Hire more help, and the place is a winner.

MY REVIEW: I absolutely love this restaurant. The service is always excellent, although at times when they are busy (like weekends and on some occassions a weekday) the service might be slower then you would expect, but given the number of waiters they have, I guess it make sense. The food is some of the best I have ever had and it just makes me wish I could invite everyone in my family to come and try this place. It's like the best thing to happen to the friendswood area. Many people can say what they want about this place, and whether they like it or not, they can go to the 'other' places if they don't like the food here, I'll just continue to go to the only true italian restaurant in my area. The specials are absolutely to die for and it's not something that you can find no matter where you go.

AN ABSOLUTE MUST TRY RESTAURANT!!!!
