MY REVIEW: the food is very good, we had for the appetizer the spinach and artichoke dip, it was very good. we also tried last time we went there 'the napoli scampi', very tasty too!! they have also a great " a la vodka" sauce, it s a mix of two sauces- alfredo and tomato sauce. very good. I love also the house bread, the best in town i would say! :))

the service is very good too, we went there few times, each time we had a different server, but always a nice experience.

I love the music they play, nice italians songs.

Great place to have good food, love the restaurant!

MY REVIEW: the food certainly IS good, that's for sure.

the cost is a bit pricey but if you consider the location and all it's bearable.

but the service? i agree with most of the people complaining how they hated waiting for the waitors and being ignored by the staff. i tried to talk to the staff before i write this review because i actually wanted the service to improve for the next time or the other people, but she said she didn't check on us often because where we wanted to sit was back in a corner and those people who want to sit there usually do not want to be disturbed. she did apologize, but that was it and she told me not to sit in the corner the next time.

how absurd! if they're not going to check on the customers why do they even bother to have the seating there and how would she know if we did or did not want to be checked on often, when she didn't even bother to look, after she got us the food and the drink pitchers? also we wanted a second plate of bread but she completely forgot. i had to personally walk up to the counter to get the bill, because she nor anyone else wouldn't acknowledge us.

it ruined the good evening we were having and most certainly i do not wish to go back to be ignored again.

MY REVIEW: We happened to be downtown and stumbled upon Little Napoli. It looked like a cute place with outdoor seating, which was exactly what we wanted. It was early when we arrived and not crowded. We were promptly seated outside at our request. At first our waiter was somewhat attentive. We ordered a bottle of wine, which arrived promptly. We sat enjoying our wine for about 30 minutes before our waiter arrived to take our order. This didn't bother us much as we were enjoying the atmosphere. Our salads arrived about 20 minutes later. Not much to them, but they were ok. We overheard the gentlemen sitting at the next table send back his food, twice. Not sure the reason of the first time, but the second because his food was ice cold on the inside. About 40 minutes after finishing our salads, or entree's arrived. I had the chicken lasagna, my husband had the regular lasagna. The first thing we noticed was the "melted" cheese on top. It looked as though it had been melted, but sat so long it had hardened. It tasted a bit rubbery. The food wasn't bad, but I wouldn't call it good either. It was room temperature and pretty bland. Nothing special about it. Our waiter never stopped by our table to check on us until about 30-40 minutes after we finished our meal. We were out of wine and water. We asked for a dessert menu and more water, which we got about 20 minutes later. We ordered dessert from some other waitress who happened by our table to clear our dinner plates. She brought dessert promptly, but that was the last time we saw a waiter on our side of the patio area. During this time, a young lady was seated at the table next to us. For 45 minutes she sat, waiting to be acknowledged by a waiter. Nothing. We also waited, 45 minutes for our bill. There wasn't a waiter in site. My husband finally had to go inside and find our waiter who seemed a little annoyed we tracked him down. I enjoy long relaxing dinners as long as we are being attended to. But it seems our waiter just decided he didn't want to wait on any of his tables on our side of the patio. Maybe they should consider more staff so guests don't have to eat room temperature food and wait for such a long time for any service. We will not be going back.

MY REVIEW: I wish I had read the reviews here before eating at the downtown location. The entrees from the Grilled section were undersized for $17 per plate. The side salad was miniscule and the waiter completely forgot our appetizer. Sorry, but far from impressive.

MY REVIEW: I could not tell you if the food was good. We went there and although there were empty tables everywhere we were told there would be a twenty minute wait for outside and a ten minute wait for inside. We were then immediately seated....hmmm

So me and my girlfriend had the pleasure of sitting there watching the waiter trip over us to help someone and not even ask us if we wanted a drink. All the waitresses and waiter saw us...it is not like we were invisible. This place could have great food but i will never find out, too many other restaurants that will at least give you a glass of water while you wait.

MY REVIEW: Strong point: Good staff, prompt service

Bad point: Food. PLEASE do not get the ravioli it tastes very bland, it needed salt and the cheese stuffing was of such poor quality. The sauce was VERY watery (seemed like it was dethawed) and Chef Boyardee honestly tastes better. The raviolis itself seemed like they were sitting in water for a few hours they were so squishy.

The fettucini is also quite boring, and somewhat oily. It had such a strange taste to it that my girlfriend didnt even want to eat any more of it. And we always try the fettucini at places to see whos the best.

Overall, great service, poor food. It wasnt even busy so youd think they would pay more attn to cooking. Wont go back.

MY REVIEW: We also just happened upon this place downtown. Right from the beginning, it had the feel of some little cozy cafe. We were attended to promptly and most sincerely. i too sometimes feel judged the minute i walk in to a restaurant. we were coming form a party at a club and were in the mood for a little snack. We ordered a house salad and some penne pasta with tomato sauce and cheese and it was mouth watering. Delicious! If the basics are good, can you imagine the potential for all the other food there? It was like being back in Italy all over again. All this was enough to keep me coming back, but there was also a jazz band playing which made it an absolutely fantastic experience. Talk about the ambiance enhancing your appetite!!! We have people visit us all the time and we can;t wait to share this with them. The food was awesome, the band was awesome and i have been looking forward to returning after the holidays.

MY REVIEW: I've a friend who visits from Georgia every year and we always park the rental car downtown, take the train to the zoo and museums, and walk around downtown looking for new places to have lunch. Well, we stopped into Little Napoli mostly because it seemed to be the only place that was "actually" open for lunch. Would it really hurt the cafe's and restaurants downtown to have someone from the wait staff or even management close to the entrance making eye contact and greeting pedestrians with a pleasant good day. I kept wanting to stick my head into places and ask as to wether they were open or just having an employee meeting clustered about the register or bar.

Back to Little Napolis. Our server cordially greeted as as we approached the door and was immediately attentive to our seating and beverage requests. She was helpful and informative explaining the different menu choices and we never had the feeling we were interrupting her day. (hint hint to other servers in Houston) The restaurant was clean, pleasantly cool, and the seating comfortable. I started with a greek salad that was so fresh and delicious there has to be a garden in the back for the produce and a goat for the feta cheese. That was followed by a slice of the supreme pizza which was hot, fresh and very flavorful. My friend had a hot salami sub which he praised to the last morsel. The entire experience was so delightful I've a feeling we'll be breaking with tradition next year and returning to the same place for lunch

MY REVIEW: Im from out of town and need a place for a reception and I found the reviews interesting so I sent my mom for a looksie. From the moment she arrived she kept calling me with rave reviews. From its homie atmospher to the great service she got. She had the seafood with linquine and said it was the best she had. Her friend had a salad which was great to. She liked the garlic bread and house salad also. Very friendly cant wait to have my celebreation there.

MY REVIEW: My friend and I happened upon this place as we were walking by and decided to drop in. We split the fried cheese sticks and each ordered a slice of pizza. I very much enjoyed the atmosphere, location, and especially the food. I was extremely surprised and pleased when the bill came. Considering the location, I figured the prices would be increased a bit, however, they were just right! I will for sure be back!

MY REVIEW: Went with 3 others. Bread was awesome. Chicken Parm was ok, but not spectacular. The grilled chicken salad was excellent -- large and lots of chicken. The Fettucini Alfredo with grilled chicken was wonderful as usual with a lot of very rich sauce. The chicken lasagne was excellent as the prior reviews say.

Waitress put down carafes of tea and coke for us -- which I love. Makes it very convenient. She checked on us numerous times to see if we needed anything. Good location from my building (short walk), good service, and very good food.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I have been coming since June 2004.

We always end up ordering the same things, just because they are so delicious! Angel hair with meat sauce, and linguine with clams or spaghetti with meatballs. I will occasionally add a meatball or sausage to my angel hair pasta.

Service is very good - food quality is always excellent!

My parents(visiting from out-of-state) loved the coffee after their meal. My mother made a comment, and she was given a pack to take home! What service!

MY REVIEW: I have been to this restaurant before, but tonite I was in for a surprise. I request my order to be low-sodium, since I am a High Blood Pressure patient. By lowering my sodium content it helps. When my order came, it was a though it has been soaking in brine. Salty!

When I explained to the waiter, she was indifferent to my request and said they would still charge my bill. It would have made a better impression on me if she had just got the order right first time.

Or just make a new order.

MY REVIEW: I've started coming here about 2-3x a month and I love this quaint little restaurant. The food has always been good. I'm partial to the Linguine and white clams. The bellini's are super tasty. You can't just have one, let me tell you! The staff is phenomenal. I don't think I've ever seen a manager, or witness a situation that called for one. My heart goes out to them for creating a low carb menu. A great place for a date or to catch up on the latest gossip with friends.

MY REVIEW: I just went today for Zuppa del Mare and a dinner salad. First of all, take out service is just as great as dining in. Those guys are really nice. Cute little place too. The food, you just can't beat it. The Zuppa del Mare is a tomato based soup with seafood, seafood, and more seafood. The container or bowl looks small but its a lot. YUMMM! Everyone should try it!

MY REVIEW: Highly recommended!

I started going to Napoli because it was the closest Italian restaurant to where I lived. I keep going back because the food is wonderful and the staff are always friendly. A couple special features are that it is open until midnight and that they do a much better job with takeout orders than most moderately priced restaurants do.

MY REVIEW: This was my first time visiting Little Napoli and the food was delicious. I found the service to be customer oriented as my order was served last during a dine in lunch, party of 3. They would inquire if everything was ok and that my order would be right up. The supreme Calzone is very tasty! I definitely will return to try other items on the menu.
