MY REVIEW: All that can be said about this place is WOW! Food is great and the service, friendliness and ambiance are wonderful. We were greeted no less than three times from the front door to the cashier and our waitress, Angel, was UNBELIEVABLE. Marcus Davis, the owner, mixes and mingles with the customers himself. We drove in from Kingwood just to try this place out and we will ba back MANY MORE TIMES!

MY REVIEW: tried this place for the first time 3 weeks ago- i have been back every weekend since then. i get the "katfish and grits" and i continually crave it during the week. this is my new favorite restaurant and i am glad they close at 2pm otherwise i would eat there way more often than i should.

great service, FABULOUS food- (the grits are amazing and the catfish i think is fried in peanut oil and is very very good)- standing in the heat sucks but it is so worth it for the best breakfast i have ever had. <3 breakfast klub

MY REVIEW: Yo, I live in Dallas and I heard about this spot over the years but never been. Well, during the NCAA Tourney, my friend and I hit it up. BAM! It was the best breakfast ever! I had the Porkchops (the fried one was slammin' and better than the grilled) grits, eggs, and a side of french toast. French toast will have u seeing God! And dem wangs....when my somewhat reserved friend bit into the wing for the first time, he had to go "oooohhhh!!" Glasses fogged up and ev'ry thang! My greedy behind had to take a wing order to go! I will be back on May 5th before conducting some interviews. I may need a nap so I hope the candidates will be energetic enough to keep a brotha awake.

They REALLY need to put one in Dallas, we desperately need a spot like that!

MY REVIEW: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!! I always get the Katfish and Grits, my boyfriend gets the pork chops and grits...and we are NEVER disappointed. I happen to know the owners, personally but I did not realize that until after visiting the restaurant. The toast is to die for. And the grits are the best I've ever had...perfect consistency. Myself and my guests are always greated with warmth, regardless of whether Marcus and Melvanie are there.

I am constantly introducing people to this place. And I've never heard anyone be disappointed by anything.

I hear they have other food...maybe one day I'll try it.

MY REVIEW: I love this place and visit at least 5-6 time a month. I love the toast, I call it "crack toast". I typically have the meat omlette and grits. I only tried the catfish once and it was way too salty other than that I give the Breakast Klub 5 stars!

MY REVIEW: Came here for lunch and was skeptical about staying because of the long line that was out the door. However, ive been dying to try this place with all the great reviews. We stood in line and surprisingly it moved pretty fast. Maybe its because everyone already knew what they wanted by the time they approached the register. Staff was friendly and service was fast. We got our food in less than 10 minutes. I happen to order the catfish and grits. The catfish was way too salty and the batter was too hard. In fact, that's all I tasted. There was barely any actual fish. Grits were tasty, eggs were done perfect, and biscuit was hot & fresh. Overall, I will give it another chance because I want to try their waffles and wings next. Maybe I'll have better luck with the food next time.

MY REVIEW: I arrived about 8:10 AM, just before a big rush.

Waek points: This was my first visit in about 3 yars and was sorely disappointed. The pancakes were overcooked and tough, the sausage was "gamy" and the scrambled eggs were so-so.

Strong points: my food was served very quickly. The service was great, with a warm greeting at the door and great coffee! The people watching is interesting too.

Conclusion: If I'm paying over $9 for breakfast, I expect the pancakes perfect, the scrambled eggs warm and tasty without needing to add salt or hot sauce, and the sausage not sour tasting.

MY REVIEW: Well, this is an easy one...Great food, fast and friendly service, equals a recipe for success. And Marcus Davis definitely has the recipe to restaurant success in Houston. Just measure his success by the length of the line that wraps around the building on any given Saturday morning. I remember even standing in line Christmas Eve 2005 with snow flurries flying around when we had a "white" Christmas that year. Great food and service go a LONG way in the life of a Houston restaurant. Sooooo, many restaurant owners could learn from him. I've been to many upscale establishments, where too much emphasis is placed on "the look" and not enough on "the taste and service". I'm SOLD on the Breakfast Klub! My aunt from Philadelphia also INSISTS on visiting the breakfast Klub each time she comes to Houston. Thanx Marcus for your brilliance and superb dining establishment. Job well done!

MY REVIEW: I recently took a trip to Houston, just to get away for the weekend. Some friends of mine and I met up with some other friends who live in Houston. Sunday, before we left to return to Louisiana, we went to The Breakfast Klub to eat. When entering there was a gentleman who welcomed us with a smile. He gave us a few suggestions on the menu and we proceeded to the counter to place our order. I got the Katfish and grits and my friend ordered the Waffle and wings. The food was great!!! I was amazed at how muh it tasted like home. Real good food in a great atmosphere!!! There are also paintings that are on the walls for the art lovers! They are awesome! Urban Abstrakts!!! Thanks for the Southern Hospitality Marcus!!! When we visit Houston we are definitely visiting again!!!!

MY REVIEW: service was absolutely spot-on, food was so delicious. Everyone very friendly. I had french toast, grits with butter and cheeze, and took a cinnamon roll to eat later. All three were so delicious... but I will say I drove to Austin after breakfast and was in a carbohydrate coma almost the whole trip! So eat some eggs before carbo loading... but that was my fault, nothing to do with this establishment! The owner/founder was walking around, asking how everyone was, and I'll say he had a gorgeous smile. I WILL eat here again next time I'm in Houston. Thanks!

MY REVIEW: I don't get it! Everyone seems to love this place. My first and only experience was anything but good. There was a line but not much of a wait and the people are extremely friendly! We went on a Monday morning and had the usual breakfast items. There were four people and everyone had something different. The problem was that no one had anything that was especially good. For example I ordered a side of biscuit and gravey and it came to me very watery and with a strong sausage taste with lots of sausage. It looked like sausage in creamy colored water. The pancakes were over done and tuff. I was so disappointed...however, I am going to go again. If there are this many people out there who love this place something had to be wrong that day. I live downtown and everytime I pass this place it is packed. I hope my next visit changes my impression

MY REVIEW: Heard so much about this place that we had to try it. Line out the door as I heard it would be, but it moved pretty fast. We tried the signature dishes, catfish and grits and wings and waffles. Good food. What struck me most however was the overwhelming joy of the staff. THEY ALL seemed to love their jobs, that is very hard to come by in this day and age. It was a very pleasant experience knowing that they genuinely wish us a great time and that everything was perfect. One comment though, the Daily G*rind has better grits! sorry.

MY REVIEW: My friend and I went to Houston from San Antonio to celebrate my birthday and decided we would "find" the Breakfast Klub. After asking several people the easiest way to get there we followed Richmond all the way downtown and must admit it was the best drive ever....the destination was unbeatable. I am a cook and have catered and cooked for many people over the years and I found nothing to complain about. The Breakfast Klub has the best breakfast I have ever eaten in a restaurant. I had the Chicken and Pecan Waffles and let me tell you it was the best. The waffle melted in your mouth (literally) and the chicken was hot, fresh and flavorful. My friend had the catfish and grits and let me tell you the grits were on point. I usually will not eat grits in a public restaurant (always watery and bland) but they were worth the try. They reminded me of Grandma's grits. The people were friendly and helpful. The flow was what I like (yea I am old skool) and it was clean, clean and clean. I will certainly eat there again and again and again

MY REVIEW: Incredible. For a relatively no-frills place, there is a lot of attention paid to seemingly inconsequential details. For example: grits. Most people don't like grits because they are "bland" and "watery", as is the case in most Southern breakfast joints. Breakfast Klub grits are cooked to a perfect, creamy consistency with stock or seasoning in the water for a nice background flavor, and served hot with a nice pat of butter melted on top. If you think you don't like grits, please have them here and change your mind. Anyway, my exemplary grits were acompanied by the BEST fried catfish I have ever put in my mouth, two fried eggs over-medium and a very good biscuit.

I am a chef and owner of a catering company and am more often than not disappointed when eating out. The food here is not exactly cheap, but it is perfectly executed and worth every penny.

MY REVIEW: As I sit here, stuffed as full as an overstuffed Thanksgiving Turkey, I am amazed it took me so long to get to the Breakfast Klub. After I saw the Breakfast Klub on television representing the City of Houston in New York City with their Wings and Waffles as one of “our” local regional dishes, I knew I needed to check out the Breakfast Klub. I really do not trust anything the City of Houston does or says, but I have consistently heard from many good sources, good things about the Breakfast Klub. Today it was time for Reviewer “X” to check out what the Breakfast Klub is about.

The place is in what may have been an old drive in “quickie mart”. Cinder block walls all around except glass windows in front.. The outside of the building is painted an orange-yellow color and usually there is a line of people along the side of the building. There is a double set of doors, one for entering and the other for exiting. As people come out, more go in. Once inside the door, you have about another 10 feet of line before getting to the register. Inside the door, you can start looking at menus before moving up to the register. At the register, you are greeted with a smile, you order, pay, and they give you a number on a stand to take to your table. Everything besides your order is self serve. Coffee, water, sodas, syrup, honey, butter, silverware, napkins, you name it. The syrup is kept hot in an urn and coffee is available in a multitude of types and flavors. I had the Costa Rican coffee. It was good and strong! On the menu there are special coffees which are delivered from the back (You know what I mean, the fufu coffees with whipped cream on the top and whatever else).

After sitting down we had time to observe the surroundings. We were sitting on what looked to be a makeshift “stage”. I hear once in awhile they have someone playing music here. It was a small raised area with 3 or so tables on it. It was a great place to sit and watch the action. The walls behind us and the one towards the back were decorated with large paintings. The place is pretty noisy, but then again, aren’t most breakfast places?

While waiting only a short time, we watched others and saw what they ordered. The omelets looked fantastic, as so did the catfish and pork chops. We saw grits, and the biscuits with gravy looked sinful! There was some definite artery clogging food here!

Our food was brought to us promptly and we began to eat. Someone in line had tipped me off to order the wings and pancakes instead of waffles. You get a lot more for your money, and especially if you like Pancakes more then waffles, why not? I had 3 large plate sized pancakes with six pieces of chicken wings. 3 “flat” parts of the wings and 3 “drummetts”. Basically, 3 wings split. The wings were large and some of the best I ever had. The pancakes were good, and I must add that they were right off the griddle. I could not finish my order, but when I did give up, they were still hot! We also tried the eggs, French toast and bacon. Eggs are eggs, what can I say, except they were cooked to order. The bacon was meaty, flavorful, and thick slab. The French toast was some of the best we’ve had in town. The wings were.......indescribably delicious!

I now know why the Breakfast Klub is especially known for their chicken wings, catfish, and pork chops. A lot of it has to do with the seasoned breading and knowing how to fry to perfection. If they ever opened up a Fried Chicken Place, there would be lines out those doors too.

Pricing of the food was in line with other restaurants, but truthfully I think you get more for your money here because the servings are large and the food is fantastic. Next time, which will be very soon, I will try some other items, but I may have to be careful not to over order. I might have to try the pork chops and eggs.... or will it be the green eggs and ham? The food is just so good! Reviewer “X” says it’s not a fancy place here, but you can’t go wrong with the food and service! Reviewer “X” rates it number one in his book!

MY REVIEW: The first time I visited BK, I was hooked. The line moved pretty fast and the staff was super wonderful. I had the wings and waffles. OMG!!!! My mom had the Katfish and grits. I don't like grits, because they have no flavor. These grits rocked!

I love this place!!!!!

MY REVIEW: My colleague and I had breakfast there Friday at 7:30AM. No long line. I ordered the grits and katfish with a bisquit and a side of gravy. I must admit, most people think that you can't do much with breakfast - these folks do! It was awesome! It was probably the best breakfast I've had in a long, long time. The katfish was outstanding - a very nice, flavorful batter. Really special. Great coffee also. I wish these folks the best - and I can't wait to get back to try something different.

MY REVIEW: The only problem I can find with the BK is all of the food is sooooo good that I cannot decide what to order. The wings, grits, pork chops, catfish, potatoes....my mouth is watering. Then you can't stop eating the tremendous portions!

The line always moves quickly and the staff all wear smiles.

If they were open any later, I'd go more often and weigh 10 extra pounds.
If you have not been to the BK, you are missing out!

MY REVIEW: I've eaten at the BK before so I decided to take my brother there for his birthday. My mom and I had the katfish & grits and he had the french toast with eggs and ham. They loved it!! My mom is a hard woman to please. She's a Southern cook from Louisiana who cooks everyday (been doing it 4 over 30yrs) and knows what good food should taste like. The fish was seasoned well and our food arrived just as we found our table. There was a line when we arrived, but we didn't have to wait long. The atmosphere is always diversed and I enjoy viewing the art displayed on the walls. The downside: there is not a children's menu so if you bring your little ones, it may be best to order "a la carte". Other than that, Enjoy Good Food, Good Service, and have a Good Time.

MY REVIEW: Everytime I go to the The Breakfast Klub I am greeted with smiles. The Owner is great. He is so friendly and comes by your table to ask how you like your meal or is there anything the he could do for you. Love the artistic vibe. Now the food, what can I say, each and every time its great enough said. You wont be disappointed.I brought some out of town guests to dine there and they have not stopped talking about it. And this was several months ago.
