MY REVIEW: Went here with a party of six. The ambiance was nice and seemed like patrons were having a good time. We were seated after I waited for 10 minutes. After being seated, not one person came to ask for drinks or hand us menus. So another 10 minutes went by. To make the story short. The food was good and the service was horrible. So if you dont mind waiting for drinks and your order to be taken, this place is for you.

MY REVIEW: We usually order the chicken kabobs..OUT OF THIS WORLD!
The tomato and cucumber salad is outstanding... the bread is fabulous also.
The over the top wonderful factor of this place is not just the food but the staff. I have gone in there many times and they are all so nice. Their takeout portions are just as good as dining in...
If you havent tried it RUN there .... Also try their coffee not for the weak heart only for the true coffee fanatic...

MY REVIEW: Turkish ex-pats abound here, and for good reason. The food is superb--reasonably priced, too. We started out with a yogurt dip, which was excellent, as was the bread. I could have eaten the whole basket of it myself! My partner had the donor kebab--yummy! And I had a lamb and okra stew--can't remember the name of the dish, but it was great (could have had a few more pieces of lamb, though). Turkish coffee and Turkish cookies at the end were a lovely finish. My only quibble is that the website said it was BYOB, and we brought--only to find that they no longer allow carry-ins and now sell beer and wine. I would definitely come back to work my way through the menu.

MY REVIEW: Now this was a treat. Wonderful ambiance, Really great service and the food was Wonderful with a capital W. This is a neighborhood grill but it's would be well worth the drive to just to eat here! They have a great lunch menu for about $8.00 and a really nice dinner menu! We love lamb and they offer a wide selection of lamb dishes. We have returned twice since our original visit and will go back many more times!

MY REVIEW: This wonderful place is in my back yard and that makes me a LUCKY lady!
Lucnh is such a treat, I love the create your own dinner plate, the Okra and Lamb is OH SO GOOD, well come to think of of it I have never had anything that wasn't so cooked with great care!
The service is above average but you are never made to feel rushed like they want your table.. I like that.. time to enjoy my coffee after dinner without some busboy standing at my elbow.
I like the table linens, fresh flowers, relaxed, ambience, good food, unhurried service.. very european.. very nice!

MY REVIEW: ...have to tell you, compared to other Turkish places, we were not impressed. Went at lunch and the service was very leisurely, almost like they didn't care whether we were there or not. Or whether we stayed. Or whether we came back. The bread (usually so yummy!) was hard and dry. They also didn't have some of the dishes that are favorites at other restaurants, the menu was very limited in general. We tried it because the other reviews were so favorable but I doubt we will give it another try...

MY REVIEW: YUM!! This place is wonderful - Empire Grill does a spectacularly wonderful job with their meats. They are tender and seasoned just right. The presentation of the food is a delight and you will walk out VERY satisified but not with that "heavy" feeling. The owners and staff are very nice and are meticulous to details and will bend over backwards to make your dining experience a positive one. We have three young children and they all love the food, so it is very family friendly. We can not wait to go back!

MY REVIEW: This place is fantastic!!!! Try the yogurt salad (with cucumbers and dill) and the tomatoe salad. They are both now a staple in my home! The lamb is great, as is the ground chicken kabob.
If you like Middle Eastern food, don't miss this little place. It's worth the drive!

MY REVIEW: don't let the 80's contempo meets middle east decor deter you from sitting. the food is very nice. i had the filet mignon and lamb combination...cooked to perfection and seasoned well. my wife got the thinly sliced lamb doner. that was some of the best tasting meat - ever. if you seek seafood and salads pass on this place, it is not for you. if you want a generous helping of meat or chicken...go, it is very good. i will be back many times.

MY REVIEW: Bland over priced food. The place seems clean and quiet, but I go to restaurants for the food not for the ambience. I had the grill filet mignon with the sides of onion and pickled red radish on a bed of rice. Presentation is good, but it still doesn't do anything for the fact that food was tasteless. If this place is the best in Houston, then I'll skip all the others.

MY REVIEW: Knowing one of the best if not the best Turkish restaurant in Europe plus several other turkish restaurants over there and reading all the reviews on this site, I was very excited for trying out an US version of Turkish Cuisine. My surprise was big when I found a very authentic Turkish Restaurant with an impressively sober decoration in one of the more expensive areas of Houston, in a clean and tidy strip mall. For the cooler days I will also definetely try out having dinner on the terrace, its terrakotta colored bricks make it look Mediterranean.
Attentive staff closed curtains for us when the sun was low and opened them again once the sun was gone, I call that attention to detail.
The food was outstanding in all regards. Not being a huge fan of lentils in its cooked form, I was amazed by the taste of the lentil soup. The kebabs of lamb and chicken were the perfection in tenderness and spicing. The rice with vermicelli was also cooked to perfection. Tabouli, Bean Salad, Falafel and Cucumber Salad where among the best I tried, specially the Tabouli being the maximum taste of freshness.
The wine menu is extensive and contains bottles and glasses for all tastes and pockets. The only thing I would put on the downside is the fact of them having only one turkish wine. And though I know the imprt of wine from Turkey is not an easy thing, a little selection of wines of that country would only enhance their food even more.
As for beer drinkers I definetely reccommend Efes Pilsener. I had it in Europe long time ago, but compared to the beers there it was just one more. With the other beers on their menu its definetely the only one if you like old world style beer.
To all going there I wish you a pleasent evening and don't destroy this pearl in West Houston by trying to "americanize" it (i.e. expect the bill five minutes after finishing the food, take it easy and enjoy your time, the people there will let you, instead of rushing you out as it happens in so many other places. If you are in a hurry indicate so) and the people ( they will enjoy your tip but will not bother you with the usual fake smiling and unprofessional behaviour seen in so many other restaurants around here) .

MY REVIEW: I have been living in the Memorial area all of my life and only recently have I discovered this restaurant...The food is incredible (I typically eat at a restaurant 5-6 times a week and am very particular regarding food quality and service) I have been so impressed by the tasty Adana, Tuvak, and Hishash kababs I decided to write my first ever review on B-4-U-Eat. I am constantly craving the food...the kababs are excellent and authentic (I recently visited Turkey and this food is as good as the best dishes I ate their) I am also extremely impressed by the kind, welcoming, and friendly service...I am always needing lemons or a plate and never feel as if I am putting anyone out...Also, the meat is halal and I appreciate that...

MY REVIEW: My wife wanted Turkish food. I have never had it before. I was pleasantly surprised that it was not only palatable but pretty good. My wife had the lentil soup. I had the filet & gyro kebab dish. The filet was very good, the gyro meat was a bit on the dry side but still tasty. The bread and spiced olive oil that they brought out was excellent.
A home style atmosphere with very good service. Prices were quite reasonable too.
Yeah .. I'd go back.

MY REVIEW: We had Valentine's Day reservations for 7PM. Traffic being a bear, one of us got home late and we didn't arrive until 7:40. The folks at Empire held our table. That was the first good point. The second was the appetizer. We just had hummus, but it was excellent, and went with the bread well. the third good point was the entree We both had beef kabobs (arrgh, forgot what they are really called) and between the entree and appetizer and bread couldn't finish. I had been here once before, and was still very impressed the second time. We'll be back.

MY REVIEW: I had an opportunity to perform a belly dance show there for a private party. The restaurant was lovely, the party was appreciative and happy with the restaurant, planning to hold a function there again in the future, the waitress who helped me was nice and the sound system worked great! Metin is such a nice gentleman. Yes, I recomend this place for your next party.

MY REVIEW: Actually, everyone knows my wife's name. She frequently lunches there, enjoying the shepherd's salad and filet mignon kebab in a lunch portion. We venture to Empire for dinner once a week to savor the fresh bread, assorted appetizers and main dish favorites, including cabbage rolls, lamb shank and a delicious lamb and okra casserole dish, among others. We love the food, but we're also very fond of the owners and think the world of co-owner and maitre'd Metin Atay and his wife Noor.

MY REVIEW: I have eaten here for lunch twice, and both times I found it an excellenct meal for a bargain. I took my husband here for our anniversary and he was very pleased, even though he wasn't sure he would like Turkish food. The place was full, even on the night before New Year's Eve & in the middle of the week!Everything tastes very fresh and healthy. The waitstaff are very professional & helpful. The atmosphere is very quiet and feels like an intimate little neighborhood restaurant.

MY REVIEW: Ditto, ditto, ditto to all the rave reviews below. The best place for a wonderful quiet lunch or dinner... fresh flowers & cloth tablecloths... without the noise of many restaurants. The food is subtly flavored, healthful & delicious! The lunch menu is a real bargain!

MY REVIEW: My wife and I love Mid-Eastern food more than any other. In our respective careers (attorney and architectural designer), we have represented many Mid-Eastern clients and have been exposed to their best cuisine. The Empire Grill is the best! Super fresh selections prepared to perfection, attentive and polite waitstaff, and elegant but understated ambiance.

MY REVIEW: Extremely delicious, authentic and healhty food. I work within the driving distance of this restaurant, so occasionally I go for a quick lunch - lucky me!!!
I visited the place few times for dinner with my wife and friends. It's a awesome place to eat. The service is fantastic, price is unbeatable and above all one of the most serene place in Houston. And it has a class.
Two other places I had similar food were New York and London.
If you are reading this - go try it and enjoy!!!
