MY REVIEW: If you only eat halal, China King is your best option in Houston. I would reccommend the mandarin chicken. That being said, the quality has gone somewhat down at china king. They have started using basmati rice which totally doesnt fit with chinese food. Some desi customers had urged them to do so (alot of our people dont really seem to understand what makes a good plate of chinese food) Despite this, i still go, just not as often.

MY REVIEW: Really good restaurant. Sesame chicken is awesome. I suggest tangy and spicy chicken, and do try their awesome lunch special. its like 6 bucks and includes soup, and a roll. the hot and sour soap really is good.

MY REVIEW: China King truly offers an authentic Chinese cuisine. So what is the big deal? There are many Chinese restaurants in Houston. The big deal is China King offers a Zabiha or Halal meat in its cuisine. The meat has some taste to it. But it is definitely not bland. My mother-in-law explained to me that this was how meat used to taste.

My family and I arrived for dinner recently. At that time, there was only one person acting as the hostess, waitress, and also the receptionist. There was a new bus person in training. We were the only ones there at that time. That made the ordering easy. However, a few minutes later, four separate parties arrived simultaneously, two take-out customers walked in, and the phone was ringing off the hook. Therefore, the service was pushed to the slow side.

However, our "Family Dinner for Two" (i.e., our choices were the Chicken with Garlic Sauce and Spicy Beef with Vegetables) came out on time. As a former Chinese restaurant waiter, yes the food is truly authentic and tasty too. I can even confirm to you that the Sweet and Sour sauce that were provided was traditionally made.

A few restaurants tried to duplicate China King effort but failed. The only one that I knew of to have accomplished this success was the Golden W*ok.
