The food is very Mexican and not like the mass produced of some restuarants. The owner and his wife are very nice people. The Jalisco Dinner is my favorite and is delicious. We go there frequently and have never had a bad meal. The portions are large and there is always enough to take home for the next day. Great prices and the service was above average. Weak points - Waitress used a broom to sweep entire restaurant (using a quiet vaccuum cleaner would keep any unwanted dust from becoming airborne). The cook deserves an award for his work. The general appearance needs a little improvement but the place also is very simple and quiet. Plan to go there again. We drove two hours round trip to try this place. The cheese enchiladas are good and cheesy and the pollo parilla is full of flavor. I was suprised at the quality of the food. Since there are only a few employees call ahead when ordering a to-go. It's a simple place with great food at very reasonable prices. The food is prepared fresh as each order arrives in the kitchen. The menu is more TexMex than MexMex and has a large variety of different dishes. The huevos rancheros is a great large breakfast with eggs prepared any way you like. Enchilada plate may be beef, chicken, or cheese... your choice. It's very good and really sticks to your ribs. The owner is the chef and does all the cooking with a helper. This makes the wait slightly longer in some cases, but nothing outrageously long. The servings are not skimpy. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for great TexMex without all the fancy tables, tablecloths, and chairs.
