MY REVIEW: I found this little gem of an Indian restaurant purely my chance. Having moved to Houston from South Africa, I was in need of good Chicken Tikka Masala, and tried this place out on a Saturday night for take-out. That was almost 6 years ago and I have being going for my fix just about every week since then. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes and I never leave unsatisfied. If you are in need of a good Indian curry, try them out. You will not be disappointed.

MY REVIEW: Been a client for the last 9 years, their decor and layout is minimalistic and the owner a little strange, however the food served more than compensates. As a world traveler, savouring cultural culnary delights wherever i find myself is a priority; over the last 30 years I have became the ultimate curry fanatic.

With hand on heart i can assure anyone on the north west side of Houston, these people are in the know: 10/10 whether you dine with friends and family or nip in for a to go. its worth it. the only critisism would be the meat dishes could be enhanced further by more marination. Best dish Chicken Tika Masala with regular Nan bread made fresh per order to perfection. Prices are fair by comparison and the service is also fair to good. ****

MY REVIEW: Brought guests from India to eat here during a lunch weekday. This was my second visit. The guests declared lunch was excellent Indian food. The food they ordered for the table was wonderful. We did not eat from the buffet so cannot comment on it.

MY REVIEW: Being big fans of Indian food, my family and I went there last December. There were five adults and the service was very attentive and the food was delicious. There were several people working the front of the house and we didn't need to ask for refills of sauce or water. Light night my husband and I arrived at 7:45pm and there seemed to be only one waitress working. There were several dirty tables and the restaurant was fairly full. We sat and waited and waited and waited. The waitress walked very showly and appeared to be only able to perform one task at a time. It was very frustating. After waiting for over 20 minutes to get our water glasses filled and then another 20 minutes to order our meal. The appetizer took another 30 minutes and the samosas were dripping in grease. Unedible. The food finally came and it was good, but not above average. We left after spending about two hours in the place. Several other diners were commenting amongst themselves about the terrible, slow service. We will never go there again. The frustration was not worth the quality.

MY REVIEW: arrived with a party of 8, expecting good things from previous reviews...didn't live up to their reviews. the buffet runs from 12 o 3 on sundays and we got there about 1:15 pm.....when we went trought the buffet they were out of chicken tandoor and butter chicken...asked for some and they brought about 12 pieces of chicken tandoor...never replenished the butter chicken...slim pickings on a buffet not even half over! too many other great indian restaurants in houston to return, at least replenish the items on the buffet.....??

MY REVIEW: We love this restaurant!! Have been eating there for 2 years and have never been disappointed. Their onion bahjis are wonderful. The chicken tikka masala is mouth watering. My husband loves their lamb jalfrezi and lamb rogan josh, both incredibly spicy curries. The meals for two for take out are good deals we always have plenty of left overs, and a good curry is always better the next day. We have tried many Indian restaurants in the area and this is without a doubt the best Indian in the NW houston area.

MY REVIEW: For two Saturday nights in a row I drove to this restaurant to have dinner. Each time it was closed, even though the sign on the door clearly said that they were to be open at 5:30pm. After the first failure I called to double-check their hours and tried again the next Saturday night. Closed again.

I will not try again. The traffic on Hwy 6 is just not worth the effort.

MY REVIEW: OK, I am not all that familiar with Indian food, but the food served here was terrific! My friends and I had Saag Paneer, Chicken Tikka Marsala, Tandoori Chicken and a fried eggplant dish, which was way too much food for the three of us. If you want it mild then request "not spicy", because even "mild" is pretty spicy. The restaurant was quiet and simply decorated, very nice, and the prices were very reasonable. I am going back as soon as I can.

MY REVIEW: Taj India is my favorite restaurant in all of Houston for north Indian fare. Food quality is always good, and some evenings it borders on incredible. Lunch buffet is steady if somewhat repetitive (about what one expects from a buffet). Prices seem to have inched up recently, but it still is a good bargain compared with many other Indian joints (I have paid double the price for food half as good). Only downside is that the waitstaff are not what I would consider top shelf, yet they do seem to try their best.

MY REVIEW: My fiance and I travel all over the city to try new Idian restraunts and I must say we both aggree that Taj India is one of the best! The food is always good, the portions are huge and we have never had a complaint, although if we did I'm quite sure it would be taken care of immediately. I cant seem to steer myself clear of the Chicken Sagwalla or Saag Paneer, excellant dishes. My tea glass is never empty I give this place 2 thumbs up and will continue to feed my Indian addiction at Taj India.

MY REVIEW: I have been dining at the Taj for about seven years off and on. I move around frequently though, so i am always trying something new. The Taj is consistent with it's quality of food. It is excellent. It is so excellent that I typically overlook its employees inconcistent customer service skills.

MY REVIEW: I have been a patron of this restaurant ever since it opened a few years ago. Today was the worst dining experience ever there. To start with the bread delivered to the table was old, soggy and cold. The Tandoori chicken and several other dishes were too salty. The tea was pre-sweetened. I asked when they started pre-sweetening the tea. The waiter replied just today. Apparently they buy "Pepsi" bottled tea and all supplier had was sweetened tea. An Indian restaurant that can't brew it's own tea. The buffet menu was skimpy at best. This place is definitely taken a nose dive downward and I won't be back. I have steered many people to this place and now I won't any more.

MY REVIEW: Great food and nice staff. My husband and I have been there for lunch and dinner and have no complaints other than sometimes it is freezing in there and other times we sweat (and with the spicy food we don't need any help). If you want to start off easy, try the lunch buffet (I prefer the variety). The saag paneer is great and my hubby loves the spicy chicken vindaloo. When you order a dish individually, plan on having leftovers or split it with a friend! Try the freshly made to order naan (they have several flavors).

MY REVIEW: We live and Shop in the area so Taj has become one of our regulars. Food is good and fairly priced. Its well in line with G*ourmet India, the one on westhiemer, but in here its more in quantity and a whole lot cheaper.

We never had much trouble with the temperature but then i kind of like it warm so cant really tell. Sure recommend it, you wont be disappointed.

MY REVIEW: The food is for sure is good, I went to the Sunday Buffet and they had a good selection to pick from.

But boy was it warm in there, while the have a number of floors fans here and there, this place had me sweating before I began to eat. I must of had 4 or glasses of ice tea to cool me down. So like some one else said before me, if you cannot stand the heat, do not enter. And the waitress, I guess she can stand the heat, since she was wearing a long sleeve top on.
