MY REVIEW: Great FOOD. Homemade mexican food like mama used to make. My personal favorites are the carne guisada and the fideo con pollo...TO DIE FOR. Any item from the menu has never disappointed me.

MY REVIEW: Due to the metro's railroad Casa Garay moved to 5902 Fulton near 610 It is open for business They were closed for a while but they have been open since November 28, 2009. I recommmend their food it has that authenthic taste "casero", home made. Everything you order is great. Their Fajitas, lengua en salsa, fideo con pollo, etc. it is all made just like my "abuelita" used to cook. Stop by and see what I mean "delicioso".

MY REVIEW: Went by 4701 Fulton St today, the building is abandoned with a spray painted sign "moved up Fulton."

Found a Casa Garay at Fulton and 610, but it was closed at lunchtime. Couldn't tell if it was in business or not.

MY REVIEW: If you are looking for "Homemade-style" Mexican food, this is the place to go!

They have great "homemade" corn and flower tortillas. I especially like their breakfast menu. Their chicharrones and machacado are so much like my Mom's that we took her there to taste them!! My Mom was a great (real Mexican) cook. They also have great menudo!! My husband and I visit at least four times a week. We see many of the "regulars" that we know come from as far as 1960 and Spring Branch. We live in the Heights area and also pass up many other Mexican Restaurants to get there. We highly recommend Casa Garay!!!

MY REVIEW: I certainly dont go here because this place is a quaint little Mexican hideaway! There is ONLY ONE reason to go here and it is the food! Perhaps the reason for the difference in the food is the fact that it is owned by a Honduran woman. The food is just a bit diffenent from Tex-Mex. Best frijoles a la charra I have ever had. Poor dear, Norma (the owner) has about as much personality as a worn out old shoe! If she depended on her vivacious personality to draw business, she would have to close down. If you are expecting ANYTHING other than a hole in the wall, I would suggest you steer clear of this place. If you dont mind a typical little north side mexican restaurant, this is a great place to eat!!!

MY REVIEW: First 15 years was the best, now don't waste your time. New cooks, new waitstaff, lazy owners. FILTHY! I used to recommend this as a "must eat" to friends, relatives, and out of town visitors.

MY REVIEW: Casa Garay is kinda of hidden between a house and a day labor camp. Do not let

that scare you off they have very good food, prices and service. They will

get more of my business. They have some of the same as others and some plates

that are new to me. Casa Garay gets a must go. Remember Mambo knows food.

MY REVIEW: They have many menu items that you will be hard pressed to find in other Mexican food restaurants. The food is good and most of the time the wait staff is attentive. The pricing is a bit on the expensive side for the type of food but they do have specials which are priced right.

The dining area is a bit small but is cozy.
