MY REVIEW: This was our first visit and we can't wait to head back. We were in Galveston for a conference and are so glad we found this hidden gem. Clearly a favorite of locals, and we could easily see why. The food was wonderful--the shrimp kisses were worth the hype. We ordered the snapper as suggested by our waiter. My husband had the Texas snapper, pecan crusted and topped with beautiful crab and a lemon butter sauce. I had the southwest snapper, topped with buttery avocado, tasty pico and more of that beautiful crab! The wine list was terrific and after dinner, we enjoyed a second bottle out on the balcony, with a wonderful view of the starry Galveston night!

MY REVIEW: This is a "fabulous" place. Just happened upon it on Good Friday. It is the nicest restaurant - love the ambiance. Great views too. Can't wait to return. The kids were given buckets of crayons when we entered - big hit!!! The kids had wonderful choices and did we adults! Loved the grilled and fried shrimp. Better than G*aido's. You almost wouldn't see this place. IT's off the beaten path. Very nice, clean bathrooms.

MY REVIEW: Based upon other reviews, my husband and I chose this restaurant. The ambiance was wonderful, you can tell it is the place all the locals go to and the manager visited all of the tables, including ours. The menu selection was good and the food even better. We started with the Shrimp Kisses. They are wonderful. My husband got shrimp and shrimp kisses as his entree. I ordered the Pecan Crusted Snapper. The entrees were delicious and we both had food leftover. We ordered the Chocolate Eruption for dessert. Too good for words and again, we brought the leftovers home.
The only weak point was our waiter. The manager mentioned a lot of the waitstaff were new and in training. We were not dissatisfied with our waiter; he could have been a little more attentive and professional. I asked him what the starch of the day was and then had to explain to him what a starch is. I wouldn't let the waitstaff keep you away. We will definitely go back!

MY REVIEW: The pecan-crusted snapper was great. The fried shrimp was good. The side dishes were very good. The view and ambience are great. The only drawback is that the prices are a little high, but that is because they use FRESH seafood. It is one of only 3 seafood restaurants in Galveston that isn't owned by L*andry's.

MY REVIEW: Strong Points: Outstanding view and location, service was excellent and shrimp kisses were the best
My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Waterman and reserved the large room on the 3rd floor so we would have privacy. I cannot tell you how accommodating the managers were in setting up everything for us early so we could come and decorate, as well as providing superior service during our meal. The shrimp kisses are obviously their specialty item and I highly recommend them. When I come back, I will get that as my entree. We were eating in front of the big windows at sunset and the view was so spectacular! I really love G*uidos too but this is my favorite restaurant in Galveston.

MY REVIEW: We come down from Dallas to Galveston every 4 months or so and spend a long weekend on the island. Waterman's is one of our "must-go" places. The food has always been great, the service very friendly, and the view of the Bay is just outstanding! The shrimp kisses appetizers are a must, and you can't go wrong with any of the fish or shrimp dishes. We love the all-wood decor of the place; it's just very comfortable. The outside seating is great when the weather participates. The second floor is available for private parties. I think you'll love Waterman's as much as we do!

MY REVIEW: This last visit was a second chance. Service both times was extremely poor. they ruined three perfectly good steaks. The shrimp kisses are great. Too bad it was downhill after that.

MY REVIEW: Strong points: Owner is back in personal charge, rebuilding the reputation.
Food was excellent, service excellent, view..atmosphere..ambiance as good as ever...e.g. excellent. In the rebuilding process there are some terrific Saturday and Sunday morning breakfast/eyeopener specials. We are locals and happy to see this place re-emerging as a top Galveston restuarant. Still a little pricey but worth every penny. Nice recent additions to the wine list.
We'll be back next week to try the pecan crusted snapper filet!

MY REVIEW: Strong Points - The location and the view, also great atmoshphere.
Weak points - THE FOOD! THE SERVICE! THE MENU! OVERPRICED! I could go on- we have visited more than once, always hopeful and always greatly disappointed. The food is overpriced and bland! We will not be back!

MY REVIEW: Good for lunch, burgers, fried shrimp. Dinner questionable. The quality of the snapper was good, however, don't order the the crab augrautin sause. It was made of the Astrodome queso with some fragments of crab. I had to scrape it off to enjoy the fish.
