MY REVIEW: A hiddeen gem with great breakfast and lunch food, pastries, pies and cakes. We have now ordered cakes from Dacapo's for our last 4 birthdays, two of which were for our young daughters and the feedback from the parents was tremendous. In fact, I believe the adults eat as much cake as the kids.
Most people not from the Heights have no idea of where the place is, but the small trip out of the way is well worth it. Prices are not cheap, but neither is the quality of the food or other goodies. Maybe the best Reuben in town (they don't call it a Reuben, its their hot corned beef sandwich). All sandwiches made on bread they make fresh that day. If you want to buy a loaf of bread get there early because bread is usually gone by 10:00 am.

MY REVIEW: Holy cow..their Banana Split Cake is pure perfection!! It wasn't too sweet, it was just right. The cake looked stunning but the taste, fugetaboutit... I have never tasted a cake so delicious. I'm making my mouth water just thinking about it...

MY REVIEW: I was looking for a bakery that would do simple wedding cakes and I stumbled across a review for Dacapo's that raved about their banana split cake. We called and asked if we could get a small cake made for us and our family to try. First of all, it was a visually stunning cake. It was very colorful with strawberries and other fresh fruit, what looked like toasted coconut shavings for the crust (we hardly tasted it), and a lovely warm color drizzled with caramel and chocolate syrup. YUM! Our first taste of that banana split cake did it for us, we were hooked! They offered to make the banana split cake look more like a traditional wedding cake, but we wanted it exactly how it was. Dacapo's is the most outstanding bakery I have been to, great service, great food, great atmosphere, and great price. People asked to take pieces of the cake home, that's how good it was! I may have only been there once so far, but everybody will know my name soon enough.

MY REVIEW: Their lunches are wonderful. The ingredients are fresh and the salad dressings are one-of-a-kind. I especially like their chicken salad salad.

MY REVIEW: Try the tres leches. It makes a Mexican bakery's tres leches taste like cake mix! It is without doubt devine. Raspberry is yummy. The sandwiches are wonderful too. Only thing is you will pay for what you get. Wish I could make it a bad habit!

MY REVIEW: For a bakery, their food was good. On the pricey side though, but the ambiance and the friendly employees really make the business.
Really good drinks. Ordered chai the last time and it was really good. Seems like the prices for drinks are lower than other items on the menu.
Still, they have good pastries.

MY REVIEW: Good quality, perfect portions. Their sandwiches, soups, desserts, are delicious. If I could eat there every day I probably would.

MY REVIEW: Had a boxed catered lunch at my office. The sandwiches were excellent as were the side dishes. If all their food is as good as what we got with the boxed lunches, I'm looking forward to visiting the restaurant as soon as possible!

MY REVIEW: The best sandwiches in Houston. BLT, A(vocado)LT, Cool Ham, chicken salad, tuna, it doesn't matter. The bread is fresh baked, the ingredients top-quality. The salads and soups are also uniformly excellent. Been there probably 30-40 times and have NEVER had even a below-average meal.

MY REVIEW: Simply the best pasteries I know of in Houston. Wonderful cakes, muufins, danish, only a few pies, but their key lime is to die for. Their chocolate cake is moist and tender and so-o-o-o chocolate, a chocaholic's dream. On top of all this they have excellent soups, sandwiches, quiches and more. What more would you want?

MY REVIEW: Raspberry Truffles are AMAZING. Much better than Godiva, or any other I've tried.
