MY REVIEW: Took some out of town guests who wanted Italian. It was early on a Friday. We ordered 2 appetizers, 4 salads, 4 dinners & drinks. It took a very long time. They brought everything but the drinks all at once. Mind you this was after a 45 min wait (plus the 15 for the waitress to even come over). There was no room at the table for all of that. we had to ask that they hold the entrees. Oddly enough the drinks took another 13 min (wine, tea and waters). The waitress smiled nicely took our order and smiled as she avoided us. Later, claiming someone took her salads. Some how this made her think she should leave the appetizers waiting for new salads...? So, they were cold. The side salads according to her took an extra 30 min to remake(?!). Got me. So, we were sitting for over 45 min after she took the order and no drinks. Someone else did bring us a tray of bread and OO. I guess she likes her salad W appetizers. Sadly we had only ordered appetizers since one person at the table was diabetic. We told them to take the appetizers back. They decided to take the dinners back too. Well, nice but not so nice. It just made the noddles mushy, the chicken breast really dry and tough not to mention NOT WARM. The chicken gave my jaw a workout that was not worth it. Needless to say I did not eat it. There were these very thin strips of breaded/fried chicken, not even half a breast (used to be, price stayed the same but the chicken, quality and service diminished). I guess times are tougher then I thought. Funny, once we were eating dinner the waitress was always around, the amount of people had not changed so I am sure it was a "tip" concern. She never appologized, blamed it on the side salad thief (I thought they were fast to make). Anyway, she brought the dessert menu, one person ordered it to go. While 2 were still very much still eating she brought over the bill (to someone with a fork in their hand). I guess it is just me but I think that is rude. Kind of up there with the person who tries to remove someone's plate while they are still eating. Oh, well. If I go back it will be without company to make sure no bad impressions are left. It will take a while since this memory is still so fresh, unlike our meal. And, no it was NOT reasonably priced. No discounts for really bad service, smaller lesser quality, no apologies. Just a lingering bad taste in my mouth to this day.

MY REVIEW: With a name like Hasta La Pasta you would expect something casual and inexpensive...not so. It's trying to compete with the upscale chains both in ambience and price. But, the food really wasn't good enough to justify the price. It wasn't bad food, but if I want to pay that much in Katy I would go to A*-n-t-o-n-i-a's, and if I want the best Italian around AND to pay less, I'll go into the Westchase neighborhood for G*-e-o-r-g-e's.

I was disappointed, but more because my expectations were not met than anything else. A pricey, upscale place should not have a cutesy name that makes it sound like a family joint, and a pricey upscale place should have out-of-the-ordinary food.

MY REVIEW: We go to Hasta La Pasta often. It is the best place to get italian in Katy. There's another italian restaurant in the same parking lot that we hear is good, but everytime we go to try it, we just can't pass up Hasta la Pasta. We like it better than A*zzarelli's (for lunch or dinner) and it's much less expensive. The Hasta La Pasta dish amazing - it has alfredo sauce with cilantro flavoring that is sooo good. They have a great lunch menu (same dishes, but better prices) so when we can we try to go for lunch. We also love the jazz nights in the "no children" room. Don't get me wrong, I love kids, but sometimes it's nice to have a break from crying and food throwing! We definately recommend this place!

MY REVIEW: This is one of our favorite little restaurants. We love the Canelloni Bianco and Caprese Salad. Especially love it when we have a coupon from the mail. On Friday or Saturday nights may have a 10 minute wait, but we think it's worth it. We love the circular booths - nice and cozy. From time to time we get a young waiter/waitress obviously in training, but that's o.k. - all of us were "new on the job" once. I like that they're giving the young people in the community a job opportunity. The food is always yummy!

MY REVIEW: We went on a Friday with another couple and baby-intow. The wait was as excpected for a Friday night. We were seated in a side room that was obviously for families -- everyone had small children -- which was great because it wasn't an issue when our 8 month old was a bit fussy or threw her toys on the ground. The food was outstanding -- loved the house salad with the creamy pesto dressing. The fungi ravioli wasn't as good as I had hoped, but my husband ordered the eggplant and it was the best I've had in Houston -- which is saying a lot considering I've eaten it at some very nice restaurants. The price was reasonable (probably $70 with tip for the 4 of us) and the service was good too -- though we never received the extra bread we requested. We will definitely be back!!!

MY REVIEW: Where do we begin? The ambiance was relaxing. The overall look is minimal but tasteful. The service was attentive but not overbearing. Once inside, it's hard to believe you're in a strip shopping center restaurant. The food was THE FRESHEST we have ever tasted. We had bruschetta and the tomatoes tasted like they were fresh from the vine. We also liked that you made your own so that you could put as much (or as little) cheese and toppings on each piece of garlic toast. And the garlic toast was perfect-not overly toasted and just the right amount of garlic. We had the house salad, which was fresh and tasty and not too much. We ordered veal marsala and cannelloni bianco and both were perfectly prepared and delicious. We had the creme brulee and tiramisu for dessert. Both were tasty but the tiramisu was a little TOO liqueur soaked and the chef who tasted the top of the cream brulee had too heavy a hand! Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience and will be returning soon.

MY REVIEW: I tried posting a review the day we went, but it never showed up here. We went to Hasta La Pasta on the reccommendation of a friend (who now owes us $50 for the meal! Hahah! Kidding!). The friend obviously doesn't know what real Italian food tastes like. My husband had chicken parmesean that was rubbery and tasted like it had been microwaved. I had a seafood pasta dish that was okay, but lacked a lot of flavor. When the waitress asked how the food was, we were honest. We said, "eh, it's okay, but not that great. Chicken is rubbery.". No visit from the manager to apologize, or anything (although, it's possible the waitress didn't inform the manager). All in all, it was a less than stellar dining experience. We won't be going back because there are a couple of Italian restaurants around town where we can get much better food at the same price.

MY REVIEW: At 6:30 pm veal parmigiana served w/ ziti cool enough to stick together w/hot pomodoro over it. Waitress didn't return until halfway through the meal to offer to take it back. Apologies, but ruined meal. The veal with a VERY small portion and quite thin. Previous visits have demonstrated much better food and service. THIS IS THE NEW CYPRESSWOOD LOCATION.

MY REVIEW: An old and dear friend and I had dinner last night at the Atascocita (Kingwood) location. We live some distance apart now and haven't seen one another in some time so had a lot of catch up to do. I chose the Kingwood location for her convenience as it's near her home, and I had had some very good dining experiences at the Katy location, knew the menu and wine are very good, and most importantly we felt the atmosphere would be conducive to being able to linger and talk leisurely. Since it was a midweek evening we knew that only about half the tables would be occupied and no there would no wait line. We were right about all that and in most respects it was a very pleasant meal... except for one aspect, the most important one.

We were quickly greeted and seated, and provided tableware and menus. The server pleasantly but hurriedly requested our drink orders before we opened the wine list. As our impression was that she was in a hurry, and we wanted to get on with talking with each other, and to reduce server interruptions, we each ordered a glass of house wine without looking at the wine list.

The wine, with bread and oil, was brought immediately, and we were asked for an appetizer order. We responded we hadn't yet looked at the menu, and told the server that we likely were going to be a bit slow as we had a lot of catching up to do, and that we were in no hurry. She said she understood, and went away.

Less than 2 minutes later she was back asking for an appetizer order again. We somewhat sheepishly replied we still weren't ready. (If there were any likelihood at all that there would be a table wait line we would have felt a little guilty for not being ready sooner, but at the time and throughout dinner, the restaurant tables were never more than half occupied.) We quickly looked over the menu and ordered the Caprese Salad, which is listed as an appetizer. The server then asked if we were also ready to order entrees, and we responded “sorry, not yet”.

She went to turn in our order, and Lo!... there she was again less than 2 minutes later asking if we were ready to order entrees yet. We again replied "sorry, not yet". And then we hurriedly studied the menu to be ready when she prodded us again... which was again less than 2 minutes later. My friend ordered the Chicken Parmesan, I ordered the Veal Marsala, and we each ordered a house salad.

The Caprese Salad, which is actually pretty much bruschetta with slices of mozzarella instead of garlic toast, arrived quickly and was very good. The house salads also arrived quickly thereafter and were as you would expect... just as they should be but nothing to write home to mom about.

We were asked by the server several times up to this point if we wanted another glass of wine, although both our glasses were still obviously 1/3 to 1/2 full. We finally gave in a little sooner than we would have otherwise and ordered wine again, quickly gulped most of what we still had, and when the new ones arrived the not-quite-empty glasses were poured into the new glasses. Now they were FULL. lol.

The entrees arrived while were obviously still eating our salads, but the server asked if we were finished "working on" them so she could remove them. The whole thing seemed to be a test of wills, so we decided to hold our ground now and kept the salads.

Both entrees also arrived quickly. Both were excellent, no doubt of that, and the Marsala wine sauce was particularly good. We both loved the food.

But, while we were still (again) obviously eating our entrees, the server again approached and asked if we were “still working on” them. And “do we want more wine?” although our glasses were still half full.

Both of us were getting a secret laugh out of the server’s seeming attempts to rush us through our meal and out the door, while also pushing as much wine as she could. The final chuckle was when she brought the bill unasked and THEN asked if we wanted a dessert. Which we did... creme brulee, deelicious. We wanted to linger and talk a bit, but the server’s attempts to push us out the door was on our minds and we left sooner than we wanted.

The server throughout was pleasant and as professional as she knew how to be, and we don’t think for a minute that she realized how she was being perceived and what her negative effect was being on our attempts to enjoy some time together. It’s just a result of inadequate and poor server training by management. Upshot... maybe she was the only server rushing customers? I dunno. Who knows?... maybe we'll try the place one more time to see.

Apologies for the wordiness, but figured if we couldn't have a long leisurely meal we could at least have a long leisurely review. :)

MY REVIEW: As we entered the restaraunt, we were asked to be put on a 35 minute waiting list. That wasn't bad concidering the place looked pack full of guests. We decided to go to the bar area and order a few drinks while we waited. The bartender for the night was Kyle. He was very attentive and kept good eye contact with my husband which he mentioned to me after we had recieved our drinks. The bar area was very well kept and everyone seemed to be having a great time.

As we were called to be escorted to our table, we found ourselves in a quiet little room to the right of the kitchen. It was very dim which set the romantic yet slightly casual mood. Both I and my husband were quickly greeted by our server. His name was Mick. He did a very good job in explaining the menus and such since it was our first time to dine here. He seemed very knowledgable about his wines since my husband is very picky, just undecisive. My husband was suggested a glass of Wild Horse. He was amazed at the smooth rich flavors it had to offer. I ordered the Chicken Hasta La Pasta, but leave it up to the husband yet again to be difficult. He thumbed around for a minute or two and Mick made a suggestion for him. He said the Canneloni Bianco would suite his wine very well. Without hesitation he placed his order. We both ordered caesar salads with our entrees. They were both timed perfectly. Right as we were finishing our salads our waiter was bringing out the main dishes. He presented himself very professionally with the fact of always putting me before my husband. What can I say, I like to be spoiled! Of course, we had to take a look at the dessert selection that our waiter had been talking us up on very casually. We decided to split the Death By Chocolate. We also made a last minute decision to order a couple of Irish coffees. A lady dressed in all black presented us our drinks and dessert. Soon after, our waiter checked back to make sure everything was perfect. Althought he said the managers liked to greet first timers, we never recieved it. It wasn't a big deal, as we had already came to the decision that this would be a frequently visited restaraunt by us.

All in all I would like to rate Hasta La Pasta as one of the finest Italian restaraunts in Katy, maybe even in the the greater Houston area. Mick, Kyle, and everyone else that tended to our needs have rightfully earned an A+ in our book. Good job Hasta La Pasta!

The service is friendly, attentive and never rushed, while the ambiance is warm and contemporary.

I highly recommend the feather-light cheesecake for dessert.

Hasta La Pasta is definitely worth the drive!

MY REVIEW: Unlike the previouse review, we had our son's wedding rehearsal dinner at the humble location and it was a fantastic experience. I was shocked to read the last review. The staff's attention to detail and preparation before the night resulted in the most enjoyable experience. The staff was very accomadating. The food, the service, and the room were all great. The expense was well worth it and all of our guest were so impressed. The Filet Da Vinci is outstanding!! I can't wait to go back and enjoy the evening with just my husband. I can't say enough about Kipp and his staff. I highly recommend the restaurant to all my freinds.

Perhaps the previous customer may not have liked their terms for private rooms and that's why she and her guest were not put in a private room.

MY REVIEW: My fiance picked this resturant for us to hvae out engagement dinner at...where my family would meet his and such. There were 14 people total at the dinner. When I called to make the reservations I asked where we would be put and was told I would have a private room with 1 long table. We got there at the designated time and the room was not set up. When we were led to our "private" room, (which was not private at all-the kitchen door was in the middle of the room so waiters and waitresses walk through LOUDLY the entire time, plus the sounds of the kitchen), instead of 1 table there were 2! So the whole point of us going TO HAVE OUR FAMILYS TOGETHER, was ruined. It ended up his family at one table and my family at another, they barely spoke! The food was good, but because of all this...I will never go back!

MY REVIEW: I really like this place. The atmosphere in the Cellar room was very romantic and my girlfriend and I sat in the comfortable booths on the side of the room. The music was great and was not loud. I highly recommend the Pork Campagnola. The only complaint I have is that the appetizers are as big as a meal and can make you full before the main course and cause you to skip dessert. If it is just two of you going to dinner, I recommend skipping the appetizer (unless you want to have it as a meal) so that you will have enough of an appetite for dessert at the end.
