MY REVIEW: Did you ever visit a great diner and order the wrong thing? Well, that's what I did. I should've got more information from the waitress since this was my first visit. I did inquire about the chicken fried steak, but she said it was pre-breaded. Wanting no part of that, I went with the Guerero Special, a hamburger steak smothered in onions, mushrooms and brown gravy. Problem is, the meat was likely the same pre-formed patty they use for a hamburger. Decent size, maybe 1/2 lb. For hamburger steak, I prefer meat that is hand-formed which is usually more tender, not as packed as a pre-formed patty used for hamburgers.

Sides were perfectly lumpy (that's a good thing) mashed potatoes and excellent pinto beans seasoned to the hilt. A cornbread muffin was much better than the store-bought dinner roll. For only $1 extra, I got a big bowl of hearty beef barley soup. Prices here are as retro as the food at this classic neighborhood diner.

As I sat there wishing I had ordered something other than hamburger steak, plates of massive quantities of comfort food were being delivered to surrounding tables. This is one of those places where you can order breakfast for lunch, and it was the breakfast plates that caught my eye. The waitress later told me that one of the best things on the menu was chicken fried chicken and, indeed, I had seen CFC & scrambled eggs at a nearby table that looked amazing. Belgian waffles and pancakes looked so good too.

Not sure why they have CFC made from scratch, but not CFS?? But I will return to get that, or maybe the liver & onions that I heard about.

MY REVIEW: There is a reason this place is always packed at lunch time during the week: classic American diner food at great prices. The basic lunch plate is about $6. As noted in a review below, the ham and cabbage is an outstanding value. The liver and onions is also one of my favorites. The breakfast food is fantastic. Also, this is a great place for a basic burger and fries. It has a real bustling atmosphere with prompt friendly service. The parking lot sometimes gets choatic.

MY REVIEW: First I must say this place is AWESOME!! My husband told me about Tel-Wink, he had taken our son's while I was out for the morning. The next morning after church he had to take me! I must say, I had never had fried fish for breakfast, but I LOVED IT! We live 30mins from Tel-Wink, but we will be there every Sunday after church from now on! De-lish food at a great price!!

MY REVIEW: Was great. Going downhill now. Portions recently dropped remarkably. Bacon was my fav in town. Now thinner and smaller, uncooked, burnt toast. Very sad. I've seen other restaurants go down like this. Needs owner who cares. Too bad.

MY REVIEW: Telewink is one of my favorite places to eat. I agree with everyone it is a million time better than D*ennys and I*HOP! I would love it if they were open 24 hrs. I have tried everything on the menu and everything is great. I am even allergic to pork but I will sacrifice myself and eat their ham and cheese omlets. OMG, just talking about it makes me crave it.

MY REVIEW: Was suprized a few weeks ago to find that the TelWink was still there. I worked there as a busboy back in 1975 with my dad who was a cook. The place was totally different from then with a few minor exceptions - anyone else remember Mr. Doubois ? / The origional owner < I think. He used to offer the TelWink " Special Dressing " for salads that was to die for. Anyway , the food was great , the staff friendly in a REAL way , prices were ridicously cheap , they do close too early , " 1st come / 1st served - seat yourself " & enjoy !!!!!!!!

MY REVIEW: Very good food and very reasonable prices. Would like to see a large menu selection but what they offer is good enough for the time being. They close too early.

MY REVIEW: This place breakfast is better than I*-Hop and D*enny's put together. Not only is it cheap but the prices are reseasonable and you get big proportions. Everyone should eat at this place but you better get there early b/c its always crowded!!!!
