MY REVIEW: The lemonade was terrible, probably country time powder. The breaded asparagus amazing. The prociotto wrapped jumbo shrimp left a bad burnt aftertaste. Service was cheerful and welcoming. Seared ahi tuna was very good with elegant presentation. This restaurant is worth checking out, but is not a Houston "gem".

MY REVIEW: We discovered this restaurant on our last night in Houston. Boy, we wished we had discovered it sooner. It was by far our favourite restaurant. The food was fantastic, so flavourful. I had the sea bass with sides of veggies, and my husband had a chicken dish. It was so very good, and it was great to be able to go somewhere where we could both order something healthy and at the same time delicious. The service was excellent too. Someone that I assume is a "Piatto" family member came by our table to check on everything, which we were impressed with. She was a sweetheart.

Our flight ended up being cancelled due to inclimate weather back home, and we got to stay an extra day in Houston. Guess where we returned to? You got it.

Yum...5 star plus!

MY REVIEW: Very good food (the asparagus appetizer is a must) and very good wine. Great service. Slightly pricey, but the quality justifies it. Atmosphere is only so-so. Not sure why this is listed as "romantic" in the B4-U-Eat listings. Wife and I went for dinner. Not knocking the quality of food or service-we had a great time, but I wouldn't call it romantic dining. I will go again, probably for a business lunch.

Food--Have to say this again: Order the asparagus appetizer. My wife doesn't even like asparagus and she loved it. If you want good Italian, you will find it here. Appetizer, entres and desserts were all very good to great.

Service--very attentive and professional, but not the white-tablecloth/crumb-the-table type of thing I would expect from "romantic".

Atmosphere--Not a candle in sight. Zero background music. Tables too close together. No private tables. Very few couples, mostly 4- to 6-top tables.

Pleasant and enjoyable, yes. Fine for multi-couple dining. But not romantic.

MY REVIEW: GREAT caesar salad.

The white bean soup is exceptional. I usually do the takeout- and the people at the bar are beyond friendly. They are always so happy to see me.

Like this place a lot- a tad pricey for normal lunches- so I only do it once a month or so.

MY REVIEW: Went there for Father's Day this evening. THere was plenty of seating, hostess and waitstaff were very accommodating. We had the asparagus appetizer which was amazing. I highly reccommend that you try the asparagus.

Waitstaff was very attentive and helpful not to mention very knowledgeable.

The food was great. My husband had the veal and I had a pasta dish. They were both delectable and the plates were generous. They even had a childs menu (which was not on the main menu), but they had a selection for our 2 year old.

I'd have to say we will definitely be going back. We made a good choice with Piatto!

MY REVIEW: This is probably the friendliest place to meet, eat or just have a drink. I haven't eaten everything they have on the menu, but I have yet to eat anything that did not melt in my mouth. The fried asaparagus is the best with the lemon butter crab sauce. When Johnny is there he is never to busy to make his rounds, usually to all of the table. But don't be surprised if you see him back in the kitchen working with all the staff to serve you!! Great folks, Great food!!!!

I am having a birthday dinner there......

MY REVIEW: My companion and I have visited Piatto's about 5 or six times. The first two times our service and food was great. The next two times we got the same waiter and he was truly indifferent, but since he treated all of his tables in this manner we decided to not let it ruin our lunch and show it in his tip. Now the last time (and i do mean the last time) that we ate at Piatto's we entered and were told that it would be about a ten minute wait. No problem. We then watched as the people behind us were seated and the Manager never acknowledged us as he walked past several times. We left and called for the valet to get our vehicle. The hostess came out and told us that our table was suddenly available. No thanks, we had a great meal at Kenny and Z*iggy's!

MY REVIEW: One of my most favorite places to dine and always look forward to going. I always feel so welcome. The food is unmatched as well as the service! Piatto Chicken or a Pizza prepared to your own taste are favorites. The Key Lime Pie is exceptional. For a very special evening the monthly wine dinners are fun.

MY REVIEW: I have been meaning to write this review for several weeks now. I have been several times to the Post Oak location. This was my first at Royal Oaks. It was Christmas Eve and we had quite a few family members visiting from out of town. Alas, we waited to the last minute to decide on eating out. I will admit, I did not call Piatto first, though I should have. In any case, we couldn't find anything not already booked until I called Piatto and they said they could seat our party of 16 at 8pm that night. From that phone call, to arriving at the restaurant, thru eating the meal, everything was SUPERB!! The manager and waitstaff treated our family like their family. The food was EXCELLENT and we never once felt rushed to hurry up and eat so that they could go home. Thank you to everyone. Piatto's is definitely on the top of my list when wanting Italian!

MY REVIEW: Friendly, great food at reasonable prices in casual dining atmosphere. Bar area has television for viewing while waiting for a table or just wanting to dine at the bar. Management is always willing to address any issues you might find with your meal, if you can find them. Everything you could want in a restaurant.

MY REVIEW: I love this place -- but, what can I say? It's hard not to love a place with good food where everyone from the girl who answers the phone, to the manager, to the waiters, the bartender, to Johnny himself make an effort to know your name, what you like, how you prefer the service, when you want the bill, etc. Our office is a few blocks away so we eat here alot! My opinion is that lunch tends to be better, on average, than dinner, but both are good and the price is reasonable. It is very hard to find something you don't like. The specials are always very good, and some things, like the fried asparagus, are very, very good! I also like the fact that you can order anything you want with a different sauce, different preparation, different topping, and they don't bat an eye. We often take clients and friends there to eat. I haven't had a bad review from anyone I have taken there.

MY REVIEW: My first visit to Piatto was wonderful!

We started with salads. My husband had the beefsteak tomato and crab salad which he said had some of the most flavorful tomatoes he'd had in a long time. I had the Piatto salad which has a neat assortment of toppings and the hazelnut goat cheese was an interesting and tasty addition. The dressing was perfect, not overpowering the natural flavors in the salad.

Next our entrees. Hubby ordered the pork chops which were juicy and cooked just right. He loved the flavor the pork and the softness of the herbs' flavor.

I had the Mezzaluna which I always order at Italian restaurants if it's on the menu. It was better than any I've ever had. I found a new favorite place for Mezzaluna.

We will definitely dine there again soon!!

MY REVIEW: Excellent food and may be over attentive service. This is a Carrabba-owned restaurant so you know food will be excellent and proportions too large. I had lunch there. By the time I left restaurant was 3/4 qtrs full. I like the location and atmosphere.

I had veal masalla and penne pasta. Veal and sauce was excellent, you could taste the cream. Penne pasta had a slight sweet taste which I liked. The salad was fresh but was disappointed with vinaigrette dressing. Had a weak taste. Will get bleu cheeses next time.

MY REVIEW: Good, but the special salad with walnuts, apples, goat cheese had way to much dressing which was very tart. Could have been a lot better. The navy bean soup was good but had too much meat fat in it. Yuk. Why do they ruin a perfectly healthy soup with fat like that. Why can't restaurants try a little harder to serve healthy, low fat food--especially when it doesn't do anything for the taste. Service was pretty good except too slow on tea refills. I've dined here 3 or 4 times and have never been completely satisfied. A little tweaking could do a lot of good though.

MY REVIEW: Excellent! I arrived for a late dinner with my mother. We waited only about 5 mins for a table. The wait staff and hostess were very friendly and professional. Love the variety of menu choices. I had a house salad with Roquefort dressing that is to die for followed by pasta with shrimp (cannot remember the name). My mother had beef tenderloin medallions in a mushroom marsala sauce...OH MY GOD! I'm so getting that when I go back. I cannot find a single flaw in my dining experience. I'll be buying gift certificates for friends and family in the future.

MY REVIEW: Reception and service are great. We had the agrume salad, which was delicous. As anapertizer we tried the sausage and peppers over polenta. The polenta could barely be tasted due to the overwelming flavour of the sausages. The peppers were sauteed with a little too much salt. Along with the saltiness of the sausage, it was a too salty - still it seems an inspired idea. Our pasta was the farfalle in vodka sauce with goat cheese. We couldnot find any goat cheese, although I thinkit was belnded in with the sauce. The dish had too many sausages and nothing in it hinted at being fresh. The pasta could not have been just cooked, I am sure. The ambiance is noce as as I said before is the staff. With so many choices for Italian food in Houston, I think we won't be coming back.

MY REVIEW: Absolutely fabulous! I arrived with 3 elderly ladies 20 min. before they opened and they graciously seated us. The asparagus appetizer should win a culinary prize. We all enjoyed our meals but I especially enjoyed the Chicken Marsala. The staff is so attentive and professional. Cannot wait to go back!

MY REVIEW: WOW I am so impressed! What a great restaurant. The service was impecable, and it shows as almost every table was hugging thier waiter! Everyone makes you feel right at home. I started with the Seared Ahi Tuna. It was perfect! and the sauces on the side give your tastebuds a kick! I had the stuffed shrimp (stuffed with crab meat). The Orzo pasta with veggies was suprisingly delicious! My Husband had the steak medallions in a mushroom sauce with spinach and mashed potatoes. All I can say is wow! Spinach was sooooo fresh!

Because we were first time customers the waiter provided us with a very light straberry short cake! It was so light and creamy but not filling...just perfect!

With this service and the delicious food, we will be back!

MY REVIEW: I had lunch with a couple of friends and we had a great time. We were seated quickly (11:30AM on a Friday so we were a tad before the lunch rush); the wait staff was efficient without being intrusive. She answered all of our questions, was friendly, joked with us. The food was wonderful, portion size was perfect for lunch and the prices for lunch specials were very good. I've paid more and been satisfied a whole lot less.

Salad & dessert was served on chilled plates, a nice touch I think. The wine list is very good although the wine by the glass is a bit pricey. All in all, I’m looking forward to my next meal at Piatto’s.

MY REVIEW: Service has been impressive each time I’ve been to Piatto. The manager always seems to greet the table and check on our happiness. My glass is always being filled by the attentive wait staff that knows exactly how to remain in the background, rather than in the conversation.

Order the asparagus and crab appetizer – do it now! You will not regret, as it has a buttery yet crisp deliciousness like I have never experienced before. The butter for the bread is also a pleasant herb flavor.

Ambience definitely does not feel like a part of the predictable chain. It is much more of a boutique feel, a special little spot to enjoy in “the neighborhood”. Check out the ultra arty table tops and amazing ceiling lighting.

MY REVIEW: Piatto Ristorante is becoming one of our favorite destinations. Every meal is delicious. Clearly the asparagus appetizer is the best you'll find, and we enjoyed each entree that we have tried. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. The service is uniformly terrific.
