It is the best bakery in town. Can wait 'till they open their new location!! The only thing I don't like is what someone said earlier... nothing is labeled or priced, so you have to ask. The bread is always fresh and I love that they let you go into the back part of the bakery (the kitchen) and grab bread that was just taken out the oven!!! I really recommend the ChocoFlan!!!! If you don't what that is, it is a layer of moist chocolate cake with a layer of flan on top. If you love their flan, you will definitly love this. They have an assortment of Mexican bread and you can purchase the BEST Tres Leches Cake or an individual slice. My favorite of all is the individual flans. They have the BEST FLAN EVER!! It's a wonderful little bakery and the prices are so reasonable. Enjoy there items. Dont expect the pastries to taste like the European or American type. Mexican pastries have a more bread type taste. Not as tasty or refined. Still good though. This place is a frosted heaven for the true lover of pasteries that are not too sweet, but have a wonderful richness. My love for El Bolillo ocurred when my nieghbor took me in after shopping at the farmers market. The have the best Palmier cookies (Hearts), these other pasteries thatlook like a criosant, but are filled with a creamy buttery filling. Aside from all this the dinner roles are terrific, their only fault is they don't last for more than a day maybe two. My real passion for this bakery was summed up when I ordered the tres leches for my sisters 40th birthday party. Wow! These folks really know how to do it right. Get down there and get you some. The drill is you take a metal tray, which resembles a pizza tray and a pair of tongs and visit each of the display racks and load up and check out. Prices are very inexepensive and the variety is exhausting. Quality is overall very good and they are constantly bringing out from the oven. I have not yet tried the signature tres leches. My only compliant is nothing is labeled so you have to ask someone or simply take chance. The owner is very friendly and told me they are preparing to breakground across the street to expand. I was a bit skeptical when we stopped here during our cycling trip around various parts of the city - I'm glad we did! This bakery is fantastic and has a variety of baked goods. They even have kolatches. I will definitely be going back to try some of the more decadent looking sweets particularly the tres leches. Once you pick up some items here, go over to the farmer's market and have a look. After a bit of hesitation, we tried this small bakery near the farmer's market. This has been the best bakery we've found. It is usually busy but people are friendly. Their breads are fresh, good and inexpensive. We even have visited close to closing (10PM) and fresh bread was coming out from the kitchen! They have a large variety of items, give it a try. Our 25 mile trip is always worth it. There is a mad crush on weekends from moms picking up elaborate birthday cakes. I have tried the majority of the products and all are made several times daily and are excellent. The bolillos are fabulous- and often warm when you buy them!!This gringo gets to practice her Spanish in this busy hive of activity!
