MY REVIEW: Their green sauce is awesome!!! It is the best I have ever had. I am still trying to figure out how they make it. My favorite is chicken fajitas. THough everything I have tried is great. Their amazon salad dressing is amazing. I go there about once a week, and the most I have ever waited was 10 min. I typically go for a late lunch or dinner (on friday nights). Their mojito's are fantastic. also try their citrus tea, its great!!

MY REVIEW: The best part about this restaurant is it's not greasy. I hate greasy mexican food. The chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce in flour tortillas instead of corn is the BEST thing on the menu. I highly recommend it. The queso comes in a shell and the shell is the best part, I love to eat it after the queso is gone. The burrito con queso is also awesome. Fajitas are great...I love all the food I have had here. I even loved the hard chicken tacos. I highly recommend eating here. The Pearland location is REALLY busy but most of the other's you can get in within a reasonable time. Pearland and Texas City are the best locations, and I have been to them all. They even catered my wedding and we had 300 people attend. I have had MANY MANY compliments on the food from my wedding. Gringos is the best Mexican food, I love it!

MY REVIEW: I strongly encourage any one to visit and eat at this fine location. Your kids will love it, because after dinner is over, Gringos have a selection of chocalate or vanilla ice cream for dessert, to name a few. The Entrees and appetizers are superb and the chips and salsa will make you feel overly satisfied while you are waiting for your meal. I will give this place an "A".

MY REVIEW: The food is great and the wait staff is always professional & friendly. The weak point is the wait time (this place is very busy: you would think this was the only Mexican restaurant in town). I love the Plato Tijuana and the Pollo Marisco (delicious). I have been too full to try a desert (other than the free ice cream). The noise is alittle loud but what do you expect from a restaurant. I highly recommend but don't go when I go because there is already a long enough line. LOL

MY REVIEW: Ive been to Gringo's on special occasions for friend's farewells, birthdays, celebrations etc. Usually go in the evenings, so when a co-worker decided on going for lunch we were for it! Well this will be the first and the last time I go for lunch. First the waitress was rude, we noticed there was a bus load of teenagers seated so when we were seated any request we made (from additional chips, to drinks) the waitress would say, " I don't know if I can but I will try-since were soo busy". I realized that it might take a while, since we've been there before-in a group. But the amount of time that we ended up waiting was totally unacceptable. We soon realized coming here for lunch was a big mistake. People that were seated after us were already munching on their enchiladas while we still waited for our food. We didnt even order anything heavy (which takes longer to grill or cook). More chips and more drinks came but no food. We asked and asked the waitress but she seemed uninterested in our table, we even noticed that she was muttering to her co-workers while looking at our table. Finally after an hour had passed, yes! a whole hour-we decided to talk to the manager to complain. For some reason they bring out this lanky bearded white guy who used the busload of people as an excuse. We asked to have our lunches boxed and he left. Unhappy with his excuses we looked for another manager and he managed to bring out our boxed lunches. Furious we voiced our complaints and he promised not to charge our food. Unfortunately he didnt keep his promise, needless to say I will never go back to this unprofessional restaurant-well atleast with this staff at hand. The waitress belongs behind a desk in a call center instead of this restaurant. The food wasnt that great, ok for the price but easily forgettable... No amount of salsa and chips would make me come back.

MY REVIEW: I have to say that I just love this place! Everything I have eaten here has tasted fresh and the green sauce is awesome! Tex mex, but awesome! They also have cheap margaritas on the weekends, and those things have a kick! Once again, I just love this place!

MY REVIEW: You can expect nice decor and average prices. The fajitas were just mediocre. I can honesty say the Margarita was by far one of the worst I have ever tasted. I think the mix was old and had gone sour. Service was a little slow but our waitress was very nice. Don’t think I will be going back here with so many good Mexican restaurants in the area.

MY REVIEW: I've been to this location several times. The green sauce, like many have mentioned before, is AMAZING! I can't get enough of it. The food comes quickly, and is also delicious. However, the service could be improved. The hostesses are rude, stuck up, and too involved in their own conversations to notice you standing there. Also, the servers often are flirting with one another and only come by to bring the food and check.

MY REVIEW: First the food: A packed parking lot is a great sign!!! Gringo's definately lives up to the hype. Starting with the chips with red and green sauce! OK, the green sauce is just awesome!!! You have to try almost anything with the Amazon sauce. It's the BOMB!:) And of course order the tortilla soup with with the avacado, cheese, pico de gallo, and tortilla strips. It is not the same by itself! This is my fave gotta have it. Have Carly hook you up with a Silver Star. Not too strong, not too weak! This is not your typical TexMex people! It is FRESH food, priced right with a great atmosphere.

The service: I have always had pretty good service there. I recommed you either go willing to wait a bit, or go at 11 for an early lunch, or between 2-4 for a late lunch if you cant stand to wait as long. Hostesses are friendly and helpful. Especially Sydney...She's the one with the big bright smile! Be sure to say hello to her and Rich the GM. Everyone is super friendly and helpful and they dont rush you through your meal.

MY REVIEW: No body knows my name but they should. I have been there many times, take out mostly. My one and only meal I have eaten there is;

Marisco, Creamy white wine sauce, sautéed to order, with fresh crawfish tails and gulf shrimp; served atop a chargrilled chicken breast. This entrée is made complete with Mexican rice, Andouille boracho beans, pico de gallo and fresh flour tortillas.

They now serve this in beef if you prefer, I think the chicken is much better. They made a mistake and served me the beef, I called and told them about it and they allow me to come back for a free one at a later date.

I haen't tried anything else because I can't get past this meal. Well worth the money, eatin of take out. Two can eat off this meal, but I just can't eat half.

MY REVIEW: Food is always good. Food and Margarita prices are considerably less than P*appasitos. Portions are good sized! Nice, new decor.

Something I picked up on that most would not, I bet. Almost every Mexican restaurant you go in gets very loud when crowded, due to all the tile and wood. This one is not that way. I noticed that they have put carpet UNDER the tabletops to absorb sound that bounces around the rooms. Very good and thoughtful idea!

Staff are all young and nice. People complain on this site about it being slow. It can be, BUT, you have to understand how tough staffing can be in the highly competitive food and beverage industry in this city. Plus, all the great staff want to work at the restaurant that charges more for entrees, therefore making the tip amount even more! So I'd say you get what you pay for, and if you want to pay less than $10 for an entree in a nice environment...have another margarita and relax...otherwise, go to a more expensive place. Oh, and the complimentary ice cream cones are really good.

I took family there who had never been to Texas, and they loved it and we all had a great time! Thanks Gringos!!

MY REVIEW: Our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren took us to this restaurant last night (Saturday) and we had a great meal and a great time. Service was exceptional and everything we ordered was excellent, with one small exception. One granddaughter just had the macaroni and cheese, and it had to be sent back to be warmed a bit more, but that was the only negative. The green salsa is excellent. We will look forward to our next trip over to Houston and a return to this restaurant.

MY REVIEW: Always very poor service but good food. We made it a point to come early for lunch hoping that the food would be served faster and the service was still slow. I had to ask for extra lemon 3 times before I finally got it and it was received about 5 minutes before we left and we had to woof our food down in about 10 minutes or less. The waiter came across as being rude, impatient and arrogant. I also complained to the hostess and she never took the time to get the problem to management or seen about. By looking at the time on the ticket, I actually think that our order was not sent back to the kitchen until about 30 minutes after we had ordered.

MY REVIEW: Nice decor, good ambiance. Maybe the tables are placed a little too close to each other.

The menu offered good selections. I ordered a burger at Mexican restaurant, and it was juicy! Portion was good and very reasonably priced.

Service was not bad. Our waitor was young and did not seem to be very experienced, but he was ok. As long as we do not receive rude service, we dont have complaints... we will go back!

MY REVIEW: Whole family dined once at "old" place, once at remodeled place. Seeing the long line made us determined to wait our turn. Everyone liked the food, chips and salsa. Kids went crazy for the ice cream. I don't recall sampling their margarita. Service had to be good - my family are tough customers.

At the newer place, we were turned off by the noise level, and probably won't ever go back because of it. Who is the genius of acoustical engineering who installed bricks (real or simulated) on the CEILING?! I mean, we don't expect a Mexican restaurant to be as quiet as a high-backed leather booth in a soft guitar bistro. But still: when there is no material to absorb the sound, it becomes deafening. Like you get when a microphone suddenly and momentarily shrieks from feedback - only, Gringo's has mastered the feat of the perpetual, progressively louder echo. We couldn't hear each other across the table when we raised our voices. We need a little lower noise level to keep our appetites alive and in synch with our socializing. Gringo's may as well run a F-16 jet engine inside full throttle, for background music; I doubt it would be noticed.

MY REVIEW: Went many years to the "old Pearland location" for the excellent food - the service wasn't always great. Both the food AND the service are excellent at the "new" location. Have tried most everything on the menu and haven't yet been disappointed. Great for either a family meal or for a girls' night out and/or to watch the Astros. The wait staff is friendly and attuned to whether you prefer a quick or leisurely meal. Have also witnessed their patience with handicapped diners. Prefer the room on the right-hand-side (by the bathrooms) because the noise level is lowest there. Only wish they took reservations so we could plan more large group dinners there. When using the take-out service the food is ready when promised and exactly as ordered.

MY REVIEW: i have visited this restaurant many times since it opened last year and find the service varies quite a bit but the quality of the food remains consistent.. it is convenient and close as there are not a great many "eateries" in the champions area (most are on 1960)..the lunch. menu is reasonably priced and the "amazon wrap" is very good. i do disagree that the margaritas are good as they are very watered down (p*appasitos are better).. i have waited as long as 45 minutes to be seated (on the weekend evenings), to just walking in the door to a table or booth (mostly at lunchtime).. i have tried the fajitas and they are not as good as expected, but they have a chicken breast covered with small shrimp and sauce that is delicous..the take out area is small but the service there is fast, the personnel are friendly, and you can get anything on the menu..the decor of the restaurant is classier than most in this price range and the place is very clean..the bar area is quite small however and is full at dinnertime..thank you

MY REVIEW: I really love the food at this restaurant. The service is inconsistent, but the food has always been excellent Tex Mex. The chips and salsa, and guacamole sauce are excellent! My dinner was delicious--I had the Plato Mariachi (sour cream chicken enchiladas, tex mex eggrolls, empanadas), which is quite a bit of food, and it was wonderful. I will definitely order it again. Not so the boracho beans, which tasted like they'd been cooked with hot dogs, but other than that, the food is remarkable. The drinks are a lot weaker than any of the "real" mexican restaurants around there, but the food makes up for it.

MY REVIEW: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this restaurant. I cannot say enough good things about it! My family and I go there just about weekly. It is the best food, the green sauce is excellent, my 2 year old son loves it too. Not to mention the chicken nuggets, they're so yummy!! The staff is attentive and always has a recommendation. The only thing I do not like is that they only bring out 1 red sauce and 1 green sauce per table. C'mon, give us all our own bowl!! That way we don't have to keep asking for refills. Still, I will keep making my weekly appearance because it is absolutely delicious!! I recommend this restaurant to everyone and always take my family when they're in town!

Oh yeah, the ice cream cone on your way out is an added bonus:)

MY REVIEW: A group of 13 adults arrived after calling ahead at 5:30 p.m. on a Wednesday. The staff seated us in a separate dining area and began almost immediately taking drink orders. Following the receipt of our drinks, the waiter began taking meal orders. The menu offers a huge choice and I don't think more than two of us ordered the same item. There was a very short wait for our meals to begin arriving. The chips and dips were refilled before needed. The decor was pleasant and all members of the gang gave it a "thumbs up".

MY REVIEW: My girlfriends and I met for a birthday dinner at the Pearland location last week, and want to extend our compliments to the staff and kitchen. The service was great, and the food was as good as always. The margaritas were a little *too* good, maybe ... we all left there with big smiles on our faces. This is our favorite place to meet for "girls' night out", and we'll be back again soon!

Personally, I highly recommend the Cozumel Chicken Salad and the Tamale Cakes (one of which comes with the Cozumel salad). They're my personal favorites, along with the Amazon sauce as dressing, and the green sauce they serve with chips before your meal. I've never been disappointed at Gringo's!

MY REVIEW: Okay. The decor was very nice. The food was lousy. It reminded us of P*anchos except at P*anchos you can raise a flag at your table for more food. The hot sauce tasted like Pace Picante sauce, the cheese was like melted cheese whiz, and the margherita's were the worse i think i have ever tasted. With that said it was still better than Tex-Mex in New Jersy. Seriously the crispy beef taco on my wifes plate was not too bad.

The waiter was a H.S. age kid who mumbled so much; like this review; that we couldn't understand him Dude, like you know, would like to you know; order like whatever. As much as we disliked the food and drinks the decor was really nice for Tex-Mex. I will go again and give it another chance as you know like they have like soft serve ice cream while you wait for your table.

Seriously though, I would go to D*oneraki's, N*infa's, B*erryhills's first and as a last resort to get your Tex-Mex on, go to this place. El P*atio frozen dinners anyone?
