MY REVIEW: My family and I have dined at numerous popular bbq joints in TX. This one is very good. I think what separates Central Texas Style BBQ from the rest are the sides. The greens, green beans, beans, mac n cheese, etc. are all tasty. That not to say that the meats are second rate. They are not. The brisket, ribs, turkey, chicken, and sausages are all worthwhile. The desserts, like the cobblers, are also darn good.

MY REVIEW: I definitely give them an A. My sliced beef sandwich was a little dry so the manager fixed me a new one which was mouth watering. Feels like home. Not like one of those chains. Definitely will go back.

MY REVIEW: This is my new favorite bbq joint. Great Texas bbq. Past this place many times over the years when in Pearland and finally tried it after reading the reviews on this site. Had a Jal. sausage sandwich and sampled the chopped beef sandwich, both were wonderful. The side of baked potato casserole was very good and big enough for a meal by itself. I'll be back 1st chance I get.

MY REVIEW: I live in Houston and there are lots of barbq joints here that clamor to be the best. I haven't found one better than Central Texas. The meats are always smoked to perfection, with a great assortment of sides and deserts. I'm not a big brisket eater, but when I get it here it's always good. I don't hesitate to jump in my car and drive the 20 or so miles to get some of their barbq.

MY REVIEW: Central Texas BBQ is by far the best BBQ in Texas. The ribs are to die for and the vegetables are wonderful. I've now had everything on the menu and it's all so good that I really don't have a favorite. I would recommend it all!

MY REVIEW: I have lived in Pearland for 23+ years and this place has not changed at all. It is a bland and tasteless as it ever was. All and all the combination of no spice's at all and very tough, low grades of meat make this a place to avoid.I make better stuff by far on my patio. No seasoning = no flavor it's as simple as that.
Strongpoints: Nice plastic utensils.
Weakpoints: Everything, just plain bland and tough/chewy.

MY REVIEW: I always order the stuffed baked potato "all the way" with all the fixins. Pretty good. Very large serving, yet pricey. I have always been a fan of J*oe's bbq in Alvin, yet after my last visit there, I was not so happy with their costomer service. The service here at Central TX is very attentive, quick, and efficient. The stuffed jalapenos were a joke however. I'm used to having them grilled. They were simply cold jalapenos cut in half stuffed with cream cheese. Nothing extraordinary. My gf always oreders the sausage links, and they are rathy tasty, though we usually have to warm them up by the time we get home. We usually order take out. Parking is challenging at peak hours. Complimentary bread slices and crackers are appreciated. Cobbler is not as good as mom's. Very bland. Will return for the baked potato though.

MY REVIEW: I have eaten at Central Texas two times in the last month and would probably give them a low "B". The first time with brisket, sausage, black beans and potato salad was a "C", with dry brisket and kind of bland black beans. Tried again this week with a loaded 1/2 baked potato, jalapeno sausage, greens and potato salad. The 1/2 potao was just the right size, had a pile of great tasting meat on it and was super. The greens were disapointing, with little or no seasoning, kind of like the black beans the last time. The sause is a bit thin but the sausage was good. It's a nice place and the people are super nice, but the food won't bring me back.

MY REVIEW: lived in Pearland my whole life, its probably one of the best tasting bbq places around. The prices have gottin pretty expensive though. 25-30 dollars for a 2 meals, 2 sides, 2 drinks. I keep going back though!

MY REVIEW: Excellent food! Been going there for years. I've tried ALL of the barbecue places in Houston & none compare to CTSB. I moved from the Alvin area to Houston and still drive to Pearland just for the food. All of my friends love this place and now prefer to drive to Pearland as well. "Mama" is always friendly, along with the staff. I don't agree that the food needs additional salt or spices or any improvements, unlike Pap*pa's, Lut*her's or even Har*lon's which are always bland. The potato salad is awesome, so is the spanish rice and black beans. The banana pudding isn't your grandmother's homemade banana pudding, but it's still pretty good, considering the rest of the food is great. Order the chopped beef on a plate dinner and you'll have plenty of meat left over.

MY REVIEW: Ambiance was good, however this was offset by extremely poor BBQ. It tasted as if most of the rest of the food was microwaved, and the desserts were clearly 'off the truck'.
NOT RECOMMENDED

MY REVIEW: I was like BuddTX meaning that I tried them a long time ago, but never went back. I live in Pearland and was craving some BBQ, but I did not feel like driving a long way so I decided to give Central another chance. The ribs were bland with virtually no seasoning at all. However, they were smoked to perfection. The sausage was marginal and the chicken was dry and bland as well. The sides were very good...Mac &cheese, spanish rice, green beans, and potato salad. If they would just season their food before cooking, the food would be outstanding. Even if it was just salt and pepper it would make a heck of a difference.

MY REVIEW: Been going here for years. Best Bar-B-Que I can find anywhere everything they serve is great. treat yourself right and get one of they're fully loaded baked potatoes with chopped beef and add extra meat it cost about 10 bucks but it will easily feed 2 people. Just make sure you have 2 people to eat it cause once you get started its hard to stop until it's gone! Think i'm fixing to head that way right now. This food is so good it's addictive.

MY REVIEW: When I moved into Pearland in 1993, I ate at Central Texas BBQ once or twice, and it was ok, nothing special, nothing great, (nothing bad either) so I never went back.
One day, a few months ago, I was driving by and decided to try Central TX BBQ again.
OMG!! This is some of the best BBQ I have ever had! I cant believe that I have missed out on eating here for over 10 years, this place is so close to my house.
I agree with the other comments, that this is some of the finest BBQ you will find. the brisquit, is, well, to quote SNL, "LIKE BUTTER!". The pork ribs are fantastic too. AND, quality is consistent.
The sides, well it is hit or miss. Some of the sides, to me, are a hit, or more specificly, a GRAND SLAM HOME RUN. Some of the sides, well,. I will just say that they are not my cup of tea.
I had friends in town (from New England) a few years ago, and I drove way out of my way to find "good" BBQ, (the un-named BBQ restaurant that we went to in Houston, the food was a let down), and little did I know that some of the best BBQ was less than a mile away!

MY REVIEW: This place was great. By Far the best BBQ and Bread Pudding that I have ever ate. My Husband and I enjoyed ever single bite. We were even full at the end of our visit. Portions are great. The Atmosphere and staff were great.
Thanks for great lunch and wonderful place for my husband and I to have grown up time.

MY REVIEW: This wonderful restaurant has expanded a little more, and the food is still TO DIE FOR. We've been devoted fans for 10 years now; we recently admitted that we are completely addicted to this restaurant's wonderful meats and side orders. Desserts, too!
An added bonus is that they now take major credit cards, which makes it really easy to dash in, pick up supper and take it home.
We highly recommend this place if you love good barbecue. It's the best in the Houston metropolitan area.

MY REVIEW: Please, please, please treat yourself to be absolute best BBQ restaurant ever. The food is out of this world. The Cuban owners often throw parties where they shut down the restaurant and open up just for friends. You're sure to be invited once they get to know you. Words just don't do the justice to describe the food. Plus there's always something different to feast your eyes on as well. Kids (and adults) get a kick out of the decorating -- a little bit of everything.

MY REVIEW: This is THE place to go for Bar-B-Que in Pearland. My parents took me here as a child and I still love it as an adult! Locally owned with traditional family settings. Everyone knows where you ate lunch after you've been to Central texas.
Tip- Park and enter through the rear and don't block the front door while standing in line!

MY REVIEW: I have lived in Pearland for many years and NEVER travel outside the town to get barbecue. Diana and her crew have got everyone beaten hands down. Their ribs are the best. It would be hard to choose a favorite. They are what real Texas barbecue is all about!

MY REVIEW: BBQ doesn't get any better than this, and neither does the pack-rat decorating style of this fragrant, homey eatery in Pearland. When we first started eating here in 1995, the place was tiny; since then, they've doubled in size to make room for more devotees .... thank heavens! Besides the incredible meats, the side orders are always fresh, and everything is home made -- no Sam's Club specials here! For true comfort food that'll stick to your ribs, try a Jeff's Special: a huge bowl of rice & beans, with jalapeno sausage (plain sausage on request), topped with shredded cheddar and chopped onion ...... enough for two people, or two meals for only five bucks.
You can't go wrong with any of the meats; beef, pork, chicken, turkey, sausage ..... we've tried them all and have never been disappointed. For side orders, I recommend the new potatoes, cole slaw and sweet potatoes. The new potatoes are baked with the skin on, and full of cheese, sour cream and green onions (not good for calorie counting, but great for the tastebuds!); the coleslaw is lightly dressed with a slightly unusual flavor from the shredded bell peppers. The sweet potatoes are by far the best I've ever eaten, anywhere (sorry, Mom!)
Family-owned and family-operated, this great BBQ place is just about the best restaurant in Pearland. When you go, take cash -- no credit cards accepted.
