MY REVIEW: Westheimer location is a nice, big open room. Selections of foods was fine. The Masala Chai I ordered was actually made from scratch with good spices, something I don't usually find in a Indian restaurant. The nan was lovely. I plan to return often.

MY REVIEW: I can't understand why this place isn't absolutely jammed at lunch time. There are always tables available. The food is stupid good. The style is northern India, or Punjabi, which is a cross between slightly hot and exceedingly flavorful. There are a number of different dishes out every day. The naan is exceptional and comes with lunch, and the wait staff is the friendliest in town. The owner is a sweetheart and willingly gave us a tour of the kitchen including the authentic clay tandoor overs. One of the best values and flavors in Houston!!!

MY REVIEW: Excellent lunch buffet with many varied vegetable and meat dishes. Since they were all so good it is hard for me to pick a favorite. All of the selections were of the highest quality and presented me with a myriad of flavors and spices. All I can say is that if the T*e M**h**s down the street could visit this place they would learn how to present a buffet that can really showcase Indian food without charging an outrageous price. The Owner was present when I was there and she was a very courteous and gracious host.

MY REVIEW: My family and I love Indian food, so we thought we'd try this new restaurant on Westheimer. Although, we have been to their original establishment on AliefClodine on several occasions without complaints, we were very disappointed and dissatisfied with this location. The service was very slow and horrible! There were only two other customers in the restaurant at the time. It took the helper/waitress 45 minutes to serve the hot tea to my father. Their lassi was watered down. Our order took an hour to be served. When our food finally arrived, we were so disappointed with the portion, there were more potatoes, cauliflowers and bones than the meat itself. And every dish we ordered was way too salty!

The owner needs more training in restaurant managements and etiquettes. She just placed the plates and silverwares on one end of the table and expect us to set the table ourselves. In addition, when we done with dinner, she cleared out our table including our water!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL WE RETURN!!!! It was the most horrible service we've ever had in a lifetime!!! We'll stick with India Gourmet just North of Westheimer :D

MY REVIEW: Very good food prepared to one's individual spacifications. The goat curry is very flavourful with the right amount of spices which do not over power the dish. The samosas are are big and spicy with excellent flavour. Though this restaurant is a hole in the wall, the food is a gastronomic pleasure with very reasonable pricing also you can get a large sugar cane for $1.99. Sher -e-Punjab is well worth the journey and the money.

MY REVIEW: This is definitely a "hole-in-the-wall" joint, very little in the way of atmosphere. HOWEVER, the food is quite good, and extremely reasonable in price. My chicken vindaloo could've used more chicken and fewer potatoes, but the flavor was excellent and the heat was spot-on. The chicken sag was quite serviceable as well. The naan came piping hot and wasn't too dry.

The strong point, however, is the finger foods. Their samosas are fabulous, and very very big. They have a very wide selection of sweets as well, and the carrot halwa is almost as good as the long-lost M*onsoon's.

If you don't mind hole-in-the-wall, this is a good place, worth your time.
