MY REVIEW: My friend always raved about Bibas for late night(24hrs yea!). Recently we were having a get together at her house and as the time rounded 2am she suggested we pile into the car and head over. I had passed by it almost daily and never stopped because it didn't catch my eye. What a mistake! The food was wonderful! My friends all got the gyros (I tasted, they melt in your mouth) and I got french toast since it was "morning" which was fantastic too! There wasn't anything special about the service. It was good. Though I do realize it was 2 in the morning and you can't really expect enthusiasm at that time. The price was right too. I will definitely be going back at any time of day!

MY REVIEW: This was the first time I've been there, and I must say it was pretty good. At first, the appearance wasn't the best and it was a little warm inside, but the Gyro was just as good as I remember them to be. I hadn't eaten one in many years; and the lamb was tender and very juicy, not too overly seasoned, etc. One of my friends who always goes there recommended everything on the menu as good, so no matter what I ordered, it would not be disappointing. The waitress was nice, friendly and prompt. I am looking forward to my next time. I hear the fajitas are awesome.

MY REVIEW: I used to live in walking distance of Biba's and took advantage of that as often as possible. I hadn't been there for about 5 years, and went back a couple of days ago. John, greeted me with a hug and a "where the heck have you been, and why didn't you take me with you when you moved"? I ordered the calamari appetizer and the moussaka to go. John, said "You ordered the Moussaka the last time you were here didn't you?" He remembered what I ordered from five years ago! Man, that is service at it's best. The staff really appreciates their customers and always makes me feel like family. I am going to make Biba's my regular hang out again, gas prices and all.
The calamari was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, not burned or soggy. The moussaka was as excellent as I remembered from the last time. I have never had a bad meal at Biba's. The gyros are delish and the taziki sauce (or however you spell that) is really good and authentic and the feta cheese on the greek salad is wonderful, not the commercial crap in the grocery store.

MY REVIEW: This is my regular hang out. I love the food, but especially the awesome staff. Brigit and Kay are the best!!
Just as a warning, though: if you come here expecting prompt service, forget it. This isn't C*hili's. This is a GREEK restaurant. You want to eat, you'll wait. And if you're an oversensitive bitch, don't even waste your time going.
The food is great, and it's open 24 hours. If you sit outside you'll get pestered by the crackheads for a dollar, but it's worth it. At Biba's, there's always a chance you'll experience some crazy shit. I've had many amusing and mind-blowing experiences there, and I've run into old friends and new ones. I'll never stop going.
If you ever go and see one of the waitresses sitting with a white guy in a black jacket, that's me!

MY REVIEW: The pizza was out of this world! The crust was thin and crisp; the ingredients were enough but not overwhelming. And their Spanokpitas were delicious - melt in your mouth type of delicious! I was hesitant to try this place, because i favor N*iko N*iko's. . .but i'm glad i did!!

MY REVIEW: Call before you go to make sure they have food. My friend & I went on an early morning (6:30) & we were told they "have no food". The available staff waited until we sat down before telling us. When we entered, we passed a man that was already seated & eating breakfast. I guess he eat all they had. I now find the "24 hour" neon sign very annoying.

MY REVIEW: Biba's is always open and generally has great food (depending on the cook, maybe?). The hot sampler platter is great to order for a couple people to get an idea of the Greek favorites. Always enjoy it more than NikoNik*os - good price, quality, and always open.

MY REVIEW: Use to go here alot but the quality has gone downhill, I ordered a pizza and it was not up to par, very soggy and overloaded with toppings, and the bread wasn't very good. Too bad.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I have been there for over 5 years. We started because it was open late but continue for the food and laid-back atmosphere. I also use it as a place to meet for casual business lunches. John is very attentive when needed and doesn't mind if the meeting runs a bit long. It's moderately priced and most people can find something they like there so it's a good choice for taking people you aren't familiar with to. It's also convenient to downtown.

MY REVIEW: I live within walking distance of Biba's, so I have eaten there many times over the last five years, during different times of the day and night. The restaurant has an unwritten "seat yourself" policy, and the wait staff is quick to bring out water and menus. John, Leslie, and the rest of the staff always pay attention to my needs, especially making sure that my order is perfect and my coffee cup remains full. If I ever move, I will continue to eat at this restaurant.

MY REVIEW: bibas doesnt always have great food.... but when it's late, you don't have a lot of options. The people that work here are really nice. During the day, there is an older man that will sometimes make small talk with you and/or sing to you. the pizzas are pretty good. the "gyro calzone" is pretty rockin but a bit greasy. overall, i really like this place. has some great greek dishes like pastitzio w/potatoes.

MY REVIEW: John greeted us at the door at 7 pm on a Friday night. A round of cold beer, cold glasses and a bit of humor from the man himself. We have always enjoyed Biba's on Memorial and stopped in for a treat. I had the gyro, which was great and less greasy than N*iko's.
My husband and his friend didn't know what they wanted. John asked what they liked. Beef for Hubby, lamb for friend. He told them he'd "Take care of them, don't worry about it!" And he did! The beef shish-ka-bob was out of this world, tender, flavorful, tickled your taste buds!!! The roasted leg of lamb fell apart, no knife necessary. John made the experience a memorable one and next time we'll bring our daughter, since we see it's family friendly. Can't wait to come back and try something else on the menu! What a find in this out of the way old house! Try it!

MY REVIEW: Strong points: John is a hoot, a caracter, he makes the place...very funny.
Leslie is one of the waitresses, great girl, nice and helpful.I just love the way she takes care of you. As soon as I park she sees me coming and cafe is ready on the table I like.
Weak points: the place needs a makeover and deep cleaning. It is not really dirty but kind of sticky.
Ambiance: It has a unique ambiance..It is homy,I am a regular.
I love the rack of lamb and the pizzas

MY REVIEW: We went to Biba's for the first time last weekend. We called around 1:00pm on Saturday and John had no problem reserving us a table for 20 at 5:00pm for dinner. The restaurant, itself, could use some updates. (Creeky floor, mildly scary bathroom), but the experience was great. John was funny, friendly and, yes, very Greek! LOL Upon arrival, my SO and I were the last ones to arrive, we were told swiftly to be quiet, sit down and decide what we'd like to eat. Hehe Which, we did! As soon as we ordered, we were given a tasty salad with a great dressing and a good amount of feta. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki (no onions) which was very tasty, lots of Chicken. The sauce was sooo yummy! Fries were good, too. SO got the meatballs (of some variety.) Said they were good, but did not like the rice that came with them. The friend sitting next to me ordered the Aphrodite pizza (after having been told by the rest of the party that it was THE thing to order! - wish I would have listened.) She got the 6" that looked small, but was so thick with cheese and toppings, it was more than plenty. I got a piece of my own (thanks, M!) and was delited. The cheese was chewy and tasty (not greasy), feta cheese oozed out the side of the slice and the chicken was tender and abundant.
All in all, a good place to go. Even if John said I was a pain in the butt for asking for mayonaisse. But hey, he did qualify it with "She's pretty but..." Hehe Fun place!

MY REVIEW: The location is convenient and the food is fine when it's 2 am and you're drunk and hungry. When you're sober, however, it's just so-so. The pizza is exceedingly greasy, and prices are a little high for the quality (or lack thereof). If it's good food you're looking for, N*iko Niko's is a much better choice.

MY REVIEW: This place is excellent. I've never had anything here I didn't like, and I'm a pretty picky eater. You absolutely will not be disapointed, and they treat you like family, well, like you're part of a Greek family, anyway. Go, NOW.

MY REVIEW: My three guests an I showed up at Bibas around 1am on Saturday morning. We waited 2 minutes before someone walked by and I had to stop her to ask about seating. No greeting, no menus, just a point to a table. I commented to my guests how rude that was, then I got up, walked to the cashier's area and picked up menus myself. We sat there looking over the menu and deciding what to eat. Still no waitress in site, no greeting, no water. It was like we did not exist. I didn't feel so bad once I noticed the table across from us was getting upset about the lack of attention. After 10 whole minutes of nothing, we decided to leave. No matter what was going on that day in the kitchen, with the staff or whatever, there is NO reason to ignore customers. Being that I chose the place, and was embarrassed, I will NEVER go there again, and I will make sure I tell everyone to avoid it, good food or not.

MY REVIEW: I've been going here since before it was Biba's (the old Omonia) and it is always wonderful. John knows me and my family and asks about the absent members each time. I almost always have the greek village salad (tomato, cucumber, feta, onions, dressing and kalamata olives) and will crave it if I stay away too long. The spinach pizza is also wonderful. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a different and excellent dining experience.

MY REVIEW: A true find for restaurantiers. Set in the downstairs of a cozy house; smoking at regular tables and non-smoking at enormous and comfortable booths.
The Gyros are fantastic (packed with lamb) and are absolutely delicious (especially for the great price!). The pizzas are rich and memorable and are the perfect "after clubbing/drinking" meal (try the Aphrodite with grilled chicken, tomatoes, and feta). The spanikopitas (sp) are flaky and dilectable. For a real treat, try the shish-ka-bobs (that come with the world's most amazing green beans that even non-green bean folks will fall in love with). For dessert, the bakliva is perfect. They also have a good selection of beers. Breakfast selections are also always available and quite tasty.
Service is good when it's not extremely busy. Usually a great place to go when other restaurants are packed as this is an unknown treasure. If you're a houstonian, endulge yourself in this great restaurant.

MY REVIEW: Did not have time to explore the menu for some greek dish since I am not up to speed on greek food. She likes it so she got her favorite greek dish I got chicken fried steak. All food was good, service very good, price is so-so. Did bring home a menu to study up on greek food and give it a try next time we go. Bibas Greek Restaurant is a go. Remember Mambo knows food.

MY REVIEW: My girlfriend and I visited Bibas based on the reviews here. I will say that for a 24-hour joint, the food was pretty good. We had pizza and a gyro and both were good enough after an evening of dancing and drinks. For regular meals, we'll continue going to the Greek place near Montrose and Westheimer. Service was pretty poor but that was expected with the after-bar rush. We've only been there once so I think they deserve a 2nd chance with all the great reviews given here.
