MY REVIEW: Let me start out that the Cracker Barrel on I-10 Katy Freeway way great. My family and I had the buttermilk pancakes with blueberry topping, eggs white due to the high chorlesterol, turkey bacon, fresh brewed tea becuase it is freshly make, and biscuts with gravy. We had better service than L*andry's thanks to the Owl watching Sean Rothacker. He was certainly making sure everyone was ok and checking around and asked us twice if everything was as it should be. Breakfast Cooks there cook just like mama back home. The place is very clean and neat. Tables and bathrooms are sanitary. One important thing you guys should know is don't go ordering the cheapest thing you see on the menu like a cheap skate. You only live once, try to enjoy it a little bit more. I have never tried the chicken and dumping simply because they where on the lower end, but I have tried the roast beef and it came with three wholesome sides. I see the place as being a great place to eat and shop. Did I mention they have a gift shop, now there is where you can find your sugar daddy!!! LOL.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I had breakfast there today. It was awful and the food was served cold. My scambled eggs looked like something from outer space, having been cooked in thin sheets. I felt sorry for the waitress, she asked if everything was Ok and I politely told her the food was not good but she had nothing to say. No more! Last time I ate there I had chicken & dumplings and it was as bad as described as a posting on this board.

MY REVIEW: Cracker Barrel was one of our standard stops on vacation, so you can imagine the excitment we had when one was going to open in town! We've been there twice in 2 years, hoping something had changed, but unfortunately, it hasn't. The food is dry, overcooked and not at all up to the quality of other Cracker Barrels we've been to. We go there to get veggie plates and they just aren't "up to snuff." We might go back, but it's doubtful. Very disappointing.

MY REVIEW: I agree with the previous review from Steve---some of the lunch and dinner portions are too small for a big appetite, but breakfast is another story. I was hungry mid afternoon for breakfast so I ordered the breakfast called Grandpa's Fried something?? Chose from either country fried steak (not chicken fried steak, but pretty good) or chicken fried chicken, 2 eggs cooked any way, 2 biscuits with REAL (not from a mix)cream gravy, potato casserole, grits and homemade apple butter. A lot of good food for $8.
Although Cracker Barrel has reliable food and great selection, it's not a place that I normally think of when I'm eating out. But it is becomng a local favorite for breakfast, and is a place that I can trust when traveling.
The League City store is always busy, but service has always been good.

MY REVIEW: I live close by this Cracker Barrel in Katy and LOVE it! The ham, pork chops and meat loaf are my favorites. The green beans and hashbrown casserole are to die for! Every one is always so eager to assist. I have no clue what the person below me's problem was. T*ony's and O*uisie's Table it's not! I will agree though the soups could be better and chicken and dumplings are normally bland anywhere you go.

MY REVIEW: After trying to decide where to eat last night, I decided on Cracker Barrel (I.10 at Barker Cypress), my 2nd time to eat there. After being seated (had to ask to be seated in the non-smoking section -- does Houston still allow people to smoke in restaurants?).
After what seemed forever, a slovenly dressed waiter, with food on his apron, asked for our drink order. I ordered a diet Coke while my friend ordered a water. His arrived with about 6 blocks of ice and a slice of lemon and my diet Coke had about 8 blocks of ice in it. Consequently, the drink was tepid when drinking it.
Our waiter took our order: Mine was Chicken and Dumplings with carrots, green beans and dressing, and my friend ordered a cup of soup (the soup of the day was Campground Chicken). Biscuits and cornbread was also served together with the food.
The Chicken and Dumplings was simply disgusting! It consisted of 4 pieces of chicken tenders cooked in some white tasteless sauce surrounded and hidden by square-looking pieces of "dumplings" that resembled ravioli in look and texture. The dish lacked taste and flavor. I had to salt and re-salt my food multiple times. Clearly the cook has no idea what dumplings are! The baby carrots were cooked to death but were edible. The green beans had a lovely ham flavor, but their color and texture left a lot to be desired. The biscuits, when lathered with butter, were tasty.
My dining companion's soup lacked flavor, but had lots of pieces of chicken and veggies in it.
The line to check out was absurdly long and it took a full 10 minutes to get to the cashier to pay the bill. I was impatient as I wanted nothing more than to get out of the store/restaurant.
Needless to say, I will not return to Cracker Barrel, as eating there is more akin to scraping the bottom of the barrel rather than a acceptably tasty homestyle cooked meal.

MY REVIEW: I have been here plenty of times and stop going because of slow service and cold food. I decided to stop by reluctantly one evening on the way home. I was surprised to see someone I knew for another restaurant now working here in management. I was seated promptly, food severed quickly and hot. Wait staff doing a good job. It was like a new place! Looks like new blood can work wonders for a place. I had the Pork chops which were moist and tender, with the french fries which were crispy and hot. The carrots were overcooked and somewhat cold. Biscuits were fresh and hot. I will be back, now that they have new management.

MY REVIEW: The store is cute and has a very nice country feel to it and some of the merchandise is priced fairly well. However for me, its quite depressing. The music they play is often sad country stuff. And I dont know about you but when I go out to eat, I dont want to feel like Im crying in my beer. They should play some upbeat country music. I know its supposed to feel like home, but thats not it. And the cooking, they could offer a few healther choices. And other things then broccoli as a "steamed" option. I know its home cooking, but never the less folks are wanting to eat better so the menu should reflect that. But the last I visited I wanted to splurge and so I orded some pancakes and for the next day I ordered french toaste, the waitress just kinda looked at me and said,"thats a lot of food" but like I was ordering the whole store. I had to ask for my eggs and she was just very snobby. The manager is very nice and helpful. But other times I have been it has been very noisey with the bussers banging plates and just the invioronment was loud. But thats the part of town its located. Infact you need to sit next to the window to watch your vehicle. While we were there someones truck got broken into. So be warned thats the side of town located. But often times they will forget to bring something to you. Just to me its not a place to go all the time. I would rather go to O*live Garden or somewhere else that has upbeat music.

MY REVIEW: First visit was just after they opened so we "forgave" the service issues.Third time to visit this location, no excuses accepted. This location has the slowest service I have ever experienced. Finally located a Manager, who assured us he would check on our order(placed 25 minutes prior)and keep an "eye" on us. He never returned to our table until we complainted that our food was served cold. It is obvious that this location needs a food expeditor to check the food vs the order. Not only did we receive cold food, we received the incorrect order. Finally received hot food but will never return to this location.

MY REVIEW: I never have had such a bad experience at a restaurant than with this Cracker Barrel (Pearland). My first visit was in early September. There were only 3 other tables filled in the restaurant (split among two waitresses) and it took 20 minutes to get the cornbread and biscuits. Next, our drinks were never refilled, she forgot the ketchup, brought the salads AFTER the hot meal, and then overcharged us. I spoke with the manager, who said he will help the waitress. He had to help the waitress and he too forgot the ketchup.
I didn't want to dismiss Cracker Barrel just yet. I went back (2nd visit) on 9/26 for my friend's birthday and it was a complete disaster. They brought out all of our dinners, but forgot the country gravy for the chicken fried steaks and chicken fingers. Half of the table had to sit and wait (9 minutes) while the rest of us ate and felt bad doing so. The waiter said that they ran out of the gravy but were in the process of making a new batch and it would take time. Save your time and money, and go somewhere else.

MY REVIEW: The food is good, the service is good and the prices reasonable. The fried apples are the best dessert they offer. The Chicken and Dumplings are some of the best money can buy. Anyone who says different must be used to eating them from frozen dinners. The C&D are made from scratch, so the people who didn't like them are just not used to eating fresh food. They should just stick to the can opener and microwaveand leave the Cracker Barrel alone.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I ordered the pork chops and eggs over-easy, and we asked to have sourdough toast with our breakfast.
The waitress brings our breakfast to our table, the pork chops were literately thrown on top of the eggs breaking the eggs all over the dish, eggs were oozing all over the plate, we said nothing because we were to hungry to complain, terrible appearance and service.
The sourdough bread we were given was not sourdough, instead regular white bread, we told the waitress and she went to the back and within less than 30 seconds returned again with more white toast instead of sourdough toast. This the place is a joke and staff there must think that customers are dumb and do not know what there eating. Never again will we ever eat there.
