Amedeo's Italian Restaurant & Bar

MY REVIEW: I went to this restaurant a few times when I lived in Atascocita and it was excellent. I have not been in over 5-6 years but I had some company come into town that wanted to go to a quiet place to eat. The quality has gone down drastically I am afraid. I would have been better served going to O*live Garden. The food was mediocre at best. You can get better garlic bread at Kroger in the frozen food aisle. My salad had iceberg lettuce and tasted like it had Wishbone Italian dressing. The shrimp was overcooked and chewy. This is the first review I have written on b4-u-eat but I felt compelled to warn others before spending so much on a meal that is not up to par.

MY REVIEW: I was not at all impressed, especially considering the fact that I was looking forward to a great meal for my birthday. Growing up eating real Italian food I can say that this place does not even know how to boil pasta, and the sauce tastes like it came from a jar. I feel like the food was overpriced and overcooked. My husband ordered a snapper dish that was just a joke. One very small snapper filet, two small shrimp and no crab meat like it stated on the menu. All for $24?? Really? My eggplang parmigiana tasted like it was fresh out of the local grocery's freezer section. The only thing worth paying for was the wine, but it's kind of hard to ruin something when someone else took time and care to prepare it. I give it a definite thumbs down. The only saving grace was the waitstaff. Our waitress was wonderful. Too bad she has to serve sub par food.

MY REVIEW: Our flavorite and favorite Italian restaurant. The best tasting food and a great wine list too. The Italian buffet night on Tuesdays is superb. For graet food, service, ambiance and value this is the complete package! Tony and all his staff are both knowledgeable and friendly.
There are always really great specials to complement the already wide and tasty menu selections. we have never been disappointed in the 18 months we have been using this gem of a restaurant. Just to top it all aff Tony was the only local to open in the middle of the IKE power outage. They put together a fantastic buffet (all they could manage with resticted cooking and power limitations) and made a really great evening of it. Well done Tony and Team Amedeos

MY REVIEW: Growing up with real authentic Italian food, I know the real stuff and I can say that this place is it. I have been to some of the best Italian restaurants throughout the country and Tony’s place rivals any Italian restaurant in Chicago, Boston or New York.
Just about anything you order is excellent, pasta (of course), fish and the veal are all fantastic. A must try is the spinach gnocchi appetizer. Additionally Randy (the chef) is always coming up with creative specials like veal ossobuco, one of my favorites!!!
Go in Tuesday night for the Pasta buffet for only $15 per person. Great bargain and awesome food!

MY REVIEW: The food is absolutley the best around. Why go downtown and pay a fortune when you can have better food here. All the servers seemed very friendly and eager to please. It has a nice "homey" feel. The Chef always has GREAT specials! The dessert variety could be a little better although, they do prepare special desserts sometimes. It's probbly better because I'm always too full. The barteneder can always satisfy your sweet tooth with a dessert martini. What a perfect end to an excellent experience!

MY REVIEW: Me and my boyfriend went to Amedeo's for our anniversary dinner! The ambiance of the place was very intimate! The waiters seemed very attentive right from the start. Our glasses were never empty! The bread was excellent, as were the salads that came with the entree. I would opt for the Ceasar..it cost extra but it was deff. worth it! We didn't order any appetizers but they looked amazing! As for our entrees, we both ordered the same thing (Cheese Ravioli with Shrimp, Spinach, and Crab). My boyfirend is allergic to spinach so he ordered his without. I thought the entree was pretty good.. not the best I've ever had but worth what I paid for it. The ravioli was cooked perfectly and the shrimp tasted wonderful! There was a little too much spinach, but I guess it's better to have too much than too little. I think my boyfriend missed out a little by not have the spinach on his. He said it was missing something (I think it was the spinach)...but he still liked it! We decided to order a strawberry custard for dessert (my boyfriend's choice). I've never had a custard before, but I thought it was very nice. Light but filling. All in all, this restaurant is definetely worth a shot!

MY REVIEW: Tony is always changing the menu so that there are plenty of delicious choices. He keeps his usual set menu items, thank heavens. At lunch for less then $8 you can get chicken marsala. It has a sauce so delectible that you will find yourself sopping it up with either the fresh bread or the garlic bread. Included with this meal is a wonderful salad & a side dish of pasta. Gee I am hungary just thinking about it. The service is always excellent & so is the wine selection. This is a real "don't miss". Better hurry!

MY REVIEW: An excellent stand-by - ever popular in the Humble/Kingwood area. Reliable and consistent in good Italian food and in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The owner is on-site and cares about the satisfaction of his customers (and it shows). Bar is a favorite with locals. The "standard" menu could use some updating - but the weekly specials are the selections of choice.

MY REVIEW: Growing up in Kingwood, if you wanted excellent food and service, you had to head south, usually all the way to Houston. But since Amedeo's came, that is no longer true. From succulent Chilean sea bass, to the peppered filet, to my favorite pasta, tortellini Genovese, you will find peerless entrees in the region. The service is always excellent, which, for me, is imperative to a good meal. Mary - that's you !! They also have great special menus for Mother's day, valentines, etc. I will always dine there, and would highly recommend Amedeos to everyone! Loyal customer, Mike Gelat.
