MY REVIEW: This baytown seafood location is a nice cozy restaurant, the prices aren't that bad, you get your money's worth for the food, it has a nice nautical decor, i love the grilled red snapper plate, it is the best nice portioned and moist i never spend more than half the bill at p*appas seafood or p*appadeuxs, satisfied, only problem is when the restaurant is packed busy the wait is very long, the less guest the bettter the food and service is.

MY REVIEW: ok if you work at dish network in the same parking lot theres not many choices to choose from if you dont want to drive. so you have baytown, p*opeyes and some stuff accross the street so we usually go to baytown. we call it in first. i always get the same thing. 6 large shrimp with a baked potatoe. i love it. the hamburgers are real famous at our job, thats what everyone gets and i havent tried one but they say they are incredible so does my mother.
one thing that did upset me was i ordered fried scallops, me having a blonde moment i though ok pan fried butter scallops. well no, they were in cornmeal. yuck i hate cornmeal with a passion! i had to peel it off and eat was supposed to be a scallop after shrinking inside the batter. however the scallops on salad are jumbo and incredible. drool... i really like baytown

MY REVIEW: Ordered the ham salad and fried okra. Okra was a "10". The ham salad, was a complete zero. The ham looked as if it had been dumped from a can and chopped into large cubes. It looked awful, cold, and full of fat. The service however was good. I did not complain, took the ham off and ate the salad. The waitress did not inquire why I had not eaten the ham and if everything was good or OK. I may eat there again but I will NOT order ham.

MY REVIEW: I eat here regularly. Strangely enough, I have never had their seafood. I usually get the chicken/sausage gumbo, double hamburger basket, and steak. The gumbo is excellent! The hamburger.. it's huge. Frighteningly huge. Since I usually just get my food to go, I pull off the 2nd patty and have another large burger with it later. The steaks are excellent. They come with a bed of sauteed vegetables and grilled shrimp. My husband has had almost everything from the menu and he loves it all. The manager is a sweet man. The service I've had is always great. The salads do suck, but who's going out to eat to focus on a side salad? The menu is varied, everything tastes good, the service is great. The decor is a little hokey but somehow it seems appropriate. It's kind of cute in a kitschy sort of way. Try this place. It is great!

MY REVIEW: After reading the other reviews I decided to try this restaurant last night. I was extremely pleased with my meal. I had a generous portion of grilled red snapper, dirty rice and a medly of zuchini, broccoli and cauliflower. The fish was served with butter for dipping as well as tarter sauce on the side, all for $9.99. The ambiance was vinyle tile, formica, and TVs hanging from the ceiling (in other words there wasn't any). My wife and I ate an early meal so the restaurant was not crowded and the service was excellent (not sure how it would have been had they been busy).

MY REVIEW: I recently went to dine in with my husband on a Tuesday night and I would really like to say is that the food was great and the service was exceptional! My husband often orders the grilled redsnapper and as always it was great. The server we had was great and very professional. I dine there about two to three times a week and have no complaints about the service. I realy loved the service the only thing that bothered me was that one of the younger girls working there was constantly fighting with what seemed to be her boyfriend in front of the customers.

MY REVIEW: The fried catfish is what keeps me coming back, over and over again. Other great menu items: shrimp, oysters, and the chinese shrimp fried rice. I love the food, the price is excellent for the amount of food and the taste. However it is not necessarily a date place because it looks kind of shabby. Another thing I dont like is the large tub of ketchup and tarter sauce that stays on the table for every customer. I dont think it is very sanitary or healthy, so I always request ketchup and tarter sauce packets instead. However it is definitely a family resturant. All of the locations have large screen televisions that show the sports and news in Houston.
The service SUCKS===BIG TIME. So dont go expecting to get P*appadeux service.

MY REVIEW: I have always seen the Pearland location packed with cars so my wife, daughter and I decided to give it a try. We ordered the jumbo fried shrimp, grilled snapper, catfish strips and the spring rolls.
The salads were very plain- iceberg lettuce with a tomato wedge. The spring rolls were okay. It came rolled with warm chicken along with shrimp and veggies. Veggies were very crisp and the peanut sauce was unique. I was not impressed with the "jumbo" shrimp. They seemed to be a 25-35 count size with is not a "jumbo" size. They were a tad over cooked and the batter was too thick for my tastes. I liked my daughters catfish strips. In fact, the dusting of corn meal on the catfish would have been very appropriate for the shrimp. My wife loved the grilled fish. So much so that I was not offered a bite!
Prices are fair for the quality and quantity. I'll probably go back at least one more time in order to sample something else.
Pluses- quick service; unique and varied menu
Negatives- crowded dining area; greasy feel on table and chairs.

MY REVIEW: Having an extended visit in Houston, I am still trying out seafood places. This evening, my daughter and I went to Baytown Seafood Restaurant on Main. The food was better than average. Her stuffed red snapper was very good and accompanied with sauteed vegetables and rice. My fried oysters were fresh and served hot. The diner salad was only wet iceberg lettuce with a little bit of tomato that reminded me of the diners of my youth. We really enjoyed the calamari. All servings were more than ample...fill up a working man.
The quality of the food was overshadowed by the lack of service. We entered Bayton Seafood at about 5:30 on a Monday evening. There were three other tables of diners. There were at least two waitresses, but they took a long time to take care of us. We were about to walk out when our entrees finally arrived. Although we agreed the food was good, we also agreed the lack of service spoiled the experience.

MY REVIEW: I go to this restaurant because my mother in law won't eat what is a most other places. I live about 3 blocks away, but don't eat here unless she comes. The service is horrible. We often fill our own glasses because we can't stand waiting for the server to return. The salads are a joke and the dressings are worse. I will say that the fish, both fried and grilled is quite good, the grilled veggies taste great and the grilled cheese was a hit with my 14 month old. I just can't get past the problems with this place to go there myself.

MY REVIEW: Greetings....my husband and I eat at this location quite regularly. The food is always fresh and prepared very well. They serve a fresh delightful grilled vegetable medley. I agree the salad could use some attention, but the rest of the meal makes up for it. Better yet, get the cole slaw. That too is quite tasty! FYI....We were also satisfied with all the other locations we visited.
Quality seafood at a reasonably price! Works for us. Check it out. See ya there...

MY REVIEW: I got my order to go. I didn't like the batter my shrimp were cooked in. The fish and shrimp was not battered the same. I found that strange. I also didn't like the iceberg salad. You would think they would provide a better salad. The price was good, but the taste was not that great.

MY REVIEW: I love this restaurant. I have also eaten at the one on Hwy. 35 in Alvin (which has the largest menu selection I have ever seen and a drive-thru window), and at the Pearland location. My favorite is the Pasadena location. I love the grilled snapper. It is wonderful and always very fresh. I enjoy the fried okra and fried squash with it. Mmmm. I'm headed over there right now.

MY REVIEW: Wait staff is always top notch...with a pleasant smile and efficient. Seafood is fresh and basic fare...no frills. Hard to go wrong. HATE the Ranch dressing on their "iceberg in a bowl" salad. They might ought to spring for some name brand dressings. Otherwise, it is a nice alternative to the pricey guys up in Kemah/Seabrook for midweek seafood.

MY REVIEW: The dining room has all the charm of a city rescue mission, but the food is great! We've never been disappointed. The fried fish is excellent, as are the fried shrimps. Their salads leave a bit to be desired (a few pieces of lettuce a sliver of bell pepper and an anemic tomato slice) but we go there for the seafood, not the salad! PRices are reasonable and the portions are generous.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I went to this Baytown seafood restaurant expecting a good dining experience. The instant we opened the front door the smell of Pine-Sol nearly knocked us down. We went ahead and was seated - I thought after a few minutes, we would not notice the Pine-Sol smell. How wrong I was. By the time we were finishing our meal, I felt like the shrimp tasted like Pine-Sol. I would have gladly have told the manager, if he could have been found. The little bowl of lettuce with one little slice of tomato and water in the bottom of the bowl was the salad. And the reviewer who said you need sunglasses to tolerate those neon lights was right on. The service and the orange shrimp were just fair. We will definitely not go back - I can't tolerate the awful Pine-Sol smell that's all over the place.

MY REVIEW: The food is delicious at the Crosby store. The food is always hot, fresh, quick and really good. The only complaint I have is the staff making sure the restaurant is closed fifteen minutes before the time it says on the door. While your eating they are stacking the chairs, clearing the tables, filling the condiment containers and you feel rushed. Other then that, the food is great. I hope the owner reads this, I am sure he wouldn't like the idea of closing early every night

MY REVIEW: I'll admit that the service has gone down a bit. They have went through several management changes (not owners just managers.) So, they are trying to recove from that.
The food, however, has not changed a bit in my opinion. My famil go there frequantly and it's always wonderful. We live in the neighborhood, and it's the best resturant in town for seafood. The fish is so fresh, not a brown speck. Very clean and white. The taste of everything is exceptional!!!!!

MY REVIEW: Absolutely very good food at a very good price. Jumbo grilled shrimp would kill to get a second helping. Also the large shrimp are very good also and much larger than most places. Jumbo grilled shrimp are out of this world. salads small but you really do not want to fill yourself up. dirty rice is steamed but veggie platter is very good with grilled shrimp. My best place to eat any kind of seafood. Also have grilled and fried scallops. YUMMY.

MY REVIEW: I ate at a Baytown Seafood in Richmond, Tx. The "Snapper" on the lunch menu was obviously not snapper. The fries were like M*cDonald's only cold. The prices on the meun were not the same as on the final bill. The trout that was supposed to be snapper was good, but not snapper. I feel ripped off and will not return.
I can only assume that this is not the same place that others claim to be so good, however I am always amazed at the low expectations of Houston diners.
