Moon Water Grill - Waterford Harbor (CLOSED)
MY REVIEW: I booked my rehearsal dinner at this restaurant because of the atmosphere and good food. I booked the room for 70 people 6 months before my wedding. My wedding was on Sat. and on Tues. of the week before my mother-in-law got a call from the manager asking if we would mind giving up the large room that we had booked and have the dinner outside instead - which was out of the question. We ended up finding out that someone had called at the last minute wanting that room for a dinner for 120 people. We showed up at 7:00pm and the other party was outside. We only had TWO waiters for 70 people and we didn't even get our food until after 10:00pm! Not to mention that they brought out prime rib steaks instesd of the filet mingnon that we ordered, the chicken marsala looked like it had been cooked in the microwave and was pink and cold in the center! It was a disaster, and humiliating with all of my out of town guests there. We got one of the owners there and she had the nerve to blow it off like it was no big deal! One word of caution - do not use this establishment for any special occasion unless you want your evening ruined!

MY REVIEW: I wish I could review the quality of the food, but since we were never served that will not be possible. My husband and I selected the Moon Water Grill to celebrate our anniversary, however after being seated for at least 20-25 minutes without so much as water service or aknowledgement from our waiter, we left. The final straw was seeing another couple come in, be seated, and served drinks within 5 minutes!!!! This was not the kind of treatment we will tolerate at any time, much less on a special occassion. The hostess warmly bid us a "good evening, thanks for coming" etc. upon our exit, apparently not realizing we hadn't been there long enough to have had a meal nor noticing the disgusted looks on our faces. We ended up having dinner at a very nice place right on the water in San Leon!

MY REVIEW: 1. Meal quality: Acceptable.
2. Had to call the maitre, when he finally was looking, to re-heat both dishes.
3. The original cost was $53, minus a special discount, Total cost $36. My tip was $25 for the table attendant. But someone penciled bigger $53, so because the dimmed light, I added my $25 tip to those $53, and ended paying $78.
4. The very next day called them, but they did not recognize anything and send me to talk to the maitre, who said that he never had such experience int he past and bla bla bla ....
5. End.
Thanks Bryce for your nice service!

MY REVIEW: I loved this place . The food was really exceptional . I had the filet mignon with lump crabmeat and it would melt in your mouth . Really wanted to try a dessert but it was too much to eat . The view ,ambience and everything about our visit was great . We actually found it by mistake while searching for a location to store a boat , but I can guarantee we will be back with or without the boat . The only problem I saw was finding it . But it was definately worth the effort

MY REVIEW: Moon Water Grill is very special. The two Amy's (owners) have really done their best to make this a restaurant that will be around forever. What is most impressive is that they have listened to their guests and have made improvements that have been well received. They have decorated the interior to be very trendy and warm. The bar used to be empty, but now it is filled with the "regulars" and plans have been made to expand that area. The bartender is very good and has been for a long while.
They also have two fireplaces which burn, when it is cooler, and sometimes just for the atmosphere anyway. This restaurant is very beautiful. From the gardens in the front, to the pool near the harbor, you will truly enjoy your time here.
Moon Water Grill, caters and hosts large parties and receptions as well.
The food is very good and they offer so much variety. One of my favorites is their hamburger, but they offer so much variety. Steaks, shrimp, fish, escargot, pasta, etc. Also, try their salads with the baked cheese and grilled chicken. Some of their specials are just too much food to eat, but they will gladly supply you with a "to go" box.
About the service. Although the service was unpredictable in the beginning, they have maintained their wait staff, and now have a very loyal group of dedicated employees who work very well together. You will be impressed.
I do not know if they are still providing music for Sunday morning brunch, around the pool, but they do usually have a band on most nights of the week.
BTW, Moon Water Grill is closed on Monday.
