China Doll Restaurant

MY REVIEW: excellent Chinese food, and we are a particular family, well travelled. The location is bad, but I regularly do take out. Service impeccible,love the special wonton soup,crab rangoons, everything on the Poo Poo platter, and all the standards excellent with large portions.

MY REVIEW: This is a very quaint little place. The staff is attentive and the Manager – Sandy is absolutely wonderful. I have eaten at China Doll off and on for over 20 years. My partner and I “rediscovered” when we bout a house back on the NW side of town. We now try to go once a week. The food is great! You must try the egg rolls – they are huge and unlike any I have found elsewhere. The Orange Beef is a specialty here and it is incredible. They use a very tender cut of beef for this dish and it shows…… The prices are very attractive as well. If you are in the area, please give them a try…. It will be worth the trip!

MY REVIEW: This very charming Chinese Restaurant was wonderful.We used to eat there many years ago and stopped going because the neighborhood seemed very unsafe.We decided to try it again and we were pleasantly surprised!Waitstaff was outstanding, and the food was delicious.I shared with the waiter our hesitation in revisiting because of the safety issue.He was surprised because now there are many policemen who eat there on a regular basis and there has been no trouble in recent years.We are so pleased to find the food so wonderful and at very reasonable prices.The decor is beautiful,too.We'll definitely be going back-probably once every week!

MY REVIEW: We have been eating at China Doll since 1985, about a year after we were married and moved to this part of Houston. Their Eggrolls are the absolute BEST in all of Houston. Try them and you will see why we are so loyal to this Chinese restaurant. They do not serve a buffet and I would not have it any other way. Their lunch and dinner specials are a good amount of food for the price.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I have been going to China Doll since she moved to Houston and I have been going there since as long as I can remember. It is the best little restaurant that very few people know about. It is the friendliest service in Houston and by far the best Chinese food in Houston. My wife and I even had our rehearsal dinner there and our entire wedding party enjoyed the food. If you want good Chinese Food - China Doll is the place.

MY REVIEW: I have been going to The China Doll since I was a child. (Over 20 years). It is by far the best Chinese food in the city. (And I have tried LOTS of them). The food is FRESH, HOT, AUTHENTIC, and DELICIOUS. Although it's not located in the best area of town, I highly rec it.

MY REVIEW: You walk in to the restaurant for the first time and look around. The decor is not impressive (and hasn't changed much over the years). You are greeted and seated in the dining area and your drink order is taken immediately. From that moment on you know this is NOT your average chinese restaurant. The drinks arrive shortly thereafter, your order is taken, and the strengths of this establishment become graringly evident: the food and service. The food is always fresh, hot, delicious, and in large portion sizes (especially for low lunch prices).

The management has changed over the years but the service is consistently impeccible and you never leave dissatisfied. I've been a loyal customer over the years and look forward to my visits at least once every week. Keep up the good work!

MY REVIEW: I have eaten here since I was a little girl. This is my "Gold Standard" when it comes to Chinese food. Anything less is just a big disappointment.
