Fuzzy's Pizza & Cafe

MY REVIEW: My family has driven here from tomball about once a month for the last 15 years.
Deep dish pizza and greek salad have been consistently good the entire time.
Only bad experience was the new location on westheimer near Fondren.
Just didnt taste the same.
We will continue to frequent this place for our "cheat meals".

MY REVIEW: Never again! The staff was rude and very unfriendly. There were 3 people standing at the counter and not one of them greeted me. They gave the customers pagers without explanation of how it worked. Then they were irritated when several of us asked them.
The food was okay, but not the best pizza I've ever had. It was my first and last visit.

MY REVIEW: Well, after reading a seemingly unending litany of bad reviews about surly help and cardboard pizzas,I have to chime in and say they are not that bad.
Fearing the worst my wife and I met family for a birthday dinner for my youngest brother (Fuzzy's was his suggestion). While ordering is a tad unusual, order and pay, who'd a thunk it,it was fine. The help, while not exuberant were nice, low key, friendly and professional enough. The pizzas we had were great-lots of stuff on there, the crust was fine,we ordered too much.
If I had to offer any criticism I would say the wings were pretty bad,but I would return in a heartbeat.

MY REVIEW: Went to dinner on the Friday after Thanksgiving. I am done with this place. Fuzzy, your pizza is awesome but the attitude of your staff taking orders is deplorable. Rude, sullen, disrespectful - you name it. They would probably get canned from a government job with their demeanor.
What a shame.

MY REVIEW: I've been going to Fuzzy's at the Antoine location since 1991. Unlike some I've never had a problem with service. I took my wife there for lunch last Saturday (7/31/10) on a lark. We usually go to Fuzzy's when special friends from Dallas visit, but it has been six months.
Since it was afternoon we both opted for slices. I had the #1 special (2 slices and a salad), ten bucks! Really dude? Really? I remember when this cost five bucks, and it was this century (2003, I think). What did I get? Decent white crust, flavorless sauce, decent amount of cheese, but the meat toppings... one slice was "beef" and the other was pepperoni. Their pepperoni is greasy enough to lube a Jeep chassis. The "beef" is a pre-packaged mix, most likely the 50% soy version. The salad was a house salad, and it was fine.
Did they forget to put oregano, basil, pepper, salt, or even sugar into the sauce? I've had better pizza at the hospital!
My wife had two slices of the President Bush special. Five bucks a pop! We're talking a slice from a sixteen inch pizza, not 18", not a Russo's 27". Since she isn't a big eater and could only manage one and a half slices I tried the rest. The whole wheat crust tasted like floury wheat breat dough. More bland sauce. The toppings on this were fine. I liked the artichoke and sausage, but the sauce and crust ruined it for me.
C'mon, Fuzzy! We used to love eating at the Antoine location (seeing as it is the original), but I may take my business elsewhere if the product doesn't improve. On a scale of 1 to 10 I gave my meal a four. My wife gave hers a five.

MY REVIEW: The food in the 20 plus years I've been going there has been good enough to ignore the rudeness of Fuzzy and his staff, and the long wait. I was spending $50 a week there, but when I found that they left out the pricey garlic bread (before I drove off) Fuzzy treated me like a thief (about $.50 his cost). I've decided that the wait and rudeness isn't worth it; I can get just as good from people that appreciate my business. If you enjoy loud television and a table of 20 children in sports' uniforms shouting, you'll love the dining room.

MY REVIEW: While the pizza is good their customer services is the worst. Today I bought a large pizza with garlic bread for $29. When the garlic bread was up my wife went to pick it up at the counter and as soon as she held the plate it fell out of her hand and on the floor. She apologized to the lady at the counter and we sat down waiting for our replacement garlic bread and pizza. Our pizza came out and we never got our garlic bread. When I asked where it was the very unfriendly lady at the counter said : Sorry you have to buy a new one !! For a cost to them of maybe 20 cents they will upset a customer who just paid $29 and threw $5 in the tip jar at the counter ???? Never going back. Worse attitude and service eve. From what i read in the reviews they need to change the whole management there

MY REVIEW: After over twenty years of eating at Fuzzy's exclusively, we have given up on them. The Greek salad is pretty forgettable these days and the pizza's quality has diminished so noticeably--no zing to the sauce; stingy toppings; cardboard-tasting crust--that we have been trying other places, and are glad that we are. Fuzzy’s service was not an issue with us--there never was any, so we didn't miss it--and the high cost was OK as long as the pizza was worth it. It no longer is. We're sorry to see a fine old institution suffer such an inglorious fate.

MY REVIEW: Good food, extremely rude and poor attitude towards customers. I have been a customer of Fuzzy's on Antione for the past 20 year both personally and for my business. After today I will no longer be a customer. Today I placed an order by phone so that our employees could celebrate the 4th together before we close the office for the weekend. The order was wrong, we didn't realize until we got everything back to the office. I spoke to the manager who was extremely rude and offensive, telling me they had no responsbility in filling orders correctly, and eventually putting the phone down on me. We cannot support a business that is so rude to loyal customers.

MY REVIEW: Definitely the worse restaurant I have ever been to. I'm from Chicago and I am used to rude people and good pizza. Their pizza isn't even close to being as good as S*tar's Pizza and nowhere near a true Chicago style pie.
Regarding rudeness and complete incompetence regarding the customer; when I complained about the service the manager told me to go somewhere else and to F-off.
Not exactly someplace I would want to take my family and it's pretty worn down and dirty too.

MY REVIEW: I'm done. December was my last visit to whatI used to believe was the best pizza in town. I drove 8 miles, each way, to pick up thier pie and Greek salad. I have for years. For $32 I got a pie that was lacking in toppings and a large Grrek that would barely feed my wife and myself. The quality has been going down for the last couple of years. What I received was a Pizza H*ut quality pie at twice the price. Too bad.

MY REVIEW: This place is a landmark.....Fuzzy is there a lot of the time and you will certainly see him on Saturday evenings. Their Pizza is great.
The way to order is to phone it in and then show up about 20 minutes or so later. You can either eat there or take it to go depending on what your preference is. You save the waiting time that there is for the pizza which can get a little long at times.
They still have the 2 big screen TVs and plenty of tables. I strongly recommend them.

MY REVIEW: The food is good, but the service at Antoine is abominable. Just got off the phone because an $8 Greek salad had hardly any feta at all. (I get that salad often, and know how it's usually prepared.)
The guy couldn't have cared less. I asked if perhaps they were running out, or maybe someone new was back there. Any explanation would have been fine. The utterly indifferent response was that apparently Mr. Fuzzy made it himself. Assuming such a person exists, make sure he's not working in the back if you order a Greek salad. :-) C'mon Fuzzy's - rather than make good money with dreadful service, why not try to make more money with decent service?
So I will give them a time out, then return to my usual - only get 'to go' orders... no fat beverage mark-ups for Fuzzy's. That's as much of their service as I can stand.

MY REVIEW: I ordered the regular salad with two slices of pizza from the Antoine Drive Fuzzy's. By the time I finished the huge, fresh salad I could only eat one piece of the pizza. I like that the salads are made to order upon request - and all of the ingredients were really fresh - tomatoes tasted just picked out of the garden. I ordered my pizza with just diced tomatoes on top - and whole wheat crust. The whole wheat crust was chewy and tasty and I much prefer it to their regular white crust. We had no problems with the service and our food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. I like that they have two big screen TV's. One was on a sports channel and the other was on headline news. I will be going to Fuzzy's regularly.

MY REVIEW: I have to admit that I agree with most of the people on the service at the Antoine location. I go to Fuzzy's quite often and I think they do have the best pizza in town, but the wait staff have never been friendly. You can get better service at a fast food restaurant like M*cDonald's. I also agree that they are getting pretty expensive compared to other pizza's parlors.
