MY REVIEW: Whoever reviewed the apple pie and said it only had a few pieces of apple in it must have gone on a really bad day, because I just got an apple pie a few days ago and it was stocked full of apples- even more than I would dream of. The pie was not too sweet, and spiced just right, and the crust was divine. I usually get their cream pies- banana and coconut being my faves, but I was in the mood for apple. Someone complained about the whipped topping, and I actually don't mind it, though I usually like neither cool whip nor whipped cream. I would probably prefer no whipped topping, but their's does not detract from the yummy pie.

MY REVIEW: I am a lover of anything lemony. I buy the lemon pies here because they're not too sweet and they don't pile all of that tasteless meringue or whipped cream on top. Just a thin layer that in no way detracts from the lemon taste. Just right. I don't know what the other pies taste like because I seem to be stuck on lemon. Maybe I'll venture out next trip. Good stuff.

MY REVIEW: Comes through in a pinch! I was given the name of another pie place, and I called on Monday, November 12, to order two pies for Friday, November 15. I was told that it was unnecessary, and my husband went over this afternoon to pick up the pies, Thursday, November 14. He called me from the other pie place's parking lot and informed me that the lady told him that, they do not work that way, one must pre-order pies. He explained that his wife had tried to pre-order, and they simply said, sorry, we have no pies to sell you (at 1:40 in the afternnon). I called Flying Saucer, and they told me to come on over; they had plenty of pies. Thank you, Flying Saucer -- you have our business!

MY REVIEW: I love that this is a little mom&pop Houston establishment. I love all of the pies that I have tried, EXCEPT their cream pies or any with that gross whipped topping. It looks good, and probably stays fluffy for a long time (which is why I think they use it), but it tastes like a combination of unsweetened meringue and Dream Whip. Artificial, tasteless, too air-y, and gross. Why can't they just use real whipped cream? It would be a vast improvement. I just order pies that are not topped with it.

MY REVIEW: Just purchased a chocolate pie and an apple pie. Chocolate pie was very good.
Apple pie was terrible: way overcooked, very few apple pieces and what was there was nothing but mush. If we had only opened the box before leaving we would have sent it back. Very disappointed.

MY REVIEW: I went there two days before Thanksgiving and got an apple pie and the strawberry cream pie. Mmmmm, good. I love how organized they are when they know the Thanksgiving crowd is coming. And the wait isn't too bad. Maybe 10 minutes to 15 minutes. But watch out for a nearby business owner who wanted to charge people $2 bucks to park in his lot. Ridiculous. I think Flying Saucer has some of the best pies in Houston and would not hesitate to go back.

MY REVIEW: I don't know who I forgot to rate this incredible place, I have been going there since the 80's. They have the best pies anywhere, I took my neice there years ago and, she still loves their strawberry pie. My favorite is the coconut cream, it is the best in the state. My daughter-in-law was staying with us while my son was in the navy and, I told her about the pies and, to this day it amazes me how she found it. She grew up in OK and, had been in the navy herself and lived in Virginia Beach for years. When she comes here or we go to visit them in Louisiana, we have to take 2 coconut cream pies.

MY REVIEW: I have grown up in the foodservice industry and can truly appreciate, and respect, an operator who is truly passionate about what they do. The Flying Saucer Pie Company is a prime example of that passion. My only current wish is that the owners sell me their company. If you have never been - go! Life is too short to miss out on this treat.

MY REVIEW: Our family has been getting pies for special ocassions, such as Birthdays, anniversaries, and Holidays, since they opened. They have the best chocolate and banana cream pies. Their strawberry pies are fantastic, with huge strawberries. They are all fresh. The line was three blocks long with people standing next to each other today, (Wednesday before Thanksgiving) at 7:00am, waiting to buy their pies. How many pie places have this kind of repeat business?

MY REVIEW: These pies are truely from another planet! I've only had the strawberry, chocolate cream and pecan pie and have no complaints. I'm still working on trying the other. My waistline has it's limitations though. In time....in time....

MY REVIEW: This is a traditional must stop for all in my family. I grew up not far from the Flying Saucer Pie shop. Now living in Clear Lake I take the drive to north side of Houston especially for a slice of bannana cream to eat one the way home and then order one of those great strawberry pies to take home.
We will always love flying saucer pie shop!
