MY REVIEW: Nick the owner has really put alot of money into revamping the restaurant. It has paid off! The service is excellent and the music they have coming in is really great! Unlike any other place in the area.
As for the other reviews, I am not sure what makes a fried food "average" to me as long as it is not burnt, undercooked or soggy with grease it is good! I found the fried shrimp very good and did not taste frozen or have a frezer burn after taste like some places. To get the real experience try their fish dishes. All are creative and very tasty. I had the fish tacos 3 for $8.99, that is a good deal considering all of the seafood there is fresh. It did not come with a side, but I could only eat 2 and 1/2 as it was PLENTY of food. Fish was flakey and not greasy. The sause was fantastic. But if you do not like hot spicy do not get the tacos with the sause provided, ask for something else.
As for price, this is not long john s*ilvers people, this establishment has all fresh seafood, and with gas prices as they are now, Nick has not changed the prices of his menu. Plus when has seafood ever been cheep? If cheep seafood is what you need, dont waste your time, take yourselves to R*ed Lobseter.

MY REVIEW: My family and I visited the restaraunt on a Saturday night. My wife ordered the fried fish and I ordered the fried shrimp. My wife stated that she really liked the fried fish, however I felt the shrimp was fair at best. My meal including my french fries were very salty. My kids had the chicken fingers and fries and they were very salty as well. The music was very good and the atmoshpere is very nice. Service was fair at best, although it was very busy. Some of the meals were overpriced. I would probably give them another opportunity if I had a coupon.

MY REVIEW: Pros: Affordable for larger families who take advantage of the coupons you find in the local paper, coupon books, etc. Music was great and the band does an awesome job interacting with the crowd young and old alike. The band, Bon Ton Mickey, was wonderful and one member was from Eunice, Louisiana.
The crawfish were great and larger than the ones we had a week before at D*I's in Basile, Louisiana not to mention at a much better price (again use their coupons!). I can't say much about their other menu items other than they have large portions and if you have little ones you can feed two or three kids with one kid meal, no joke.
I recommend them to everyone but especially for those of you La. transplants who like to experience a little piece of home. By the way the place was clean including the newly remodeled restrooms! The owners have improved the place tremendously over the last year, inside and out, including a new sign and landscaping to attract more patrons.
CONS: Not many but as a large family with a budget why not post coupons on the restaurants website making it easily available or having an email system that sends members various deals once a month. When we have company coming I have to begin the search early and they are not always easy to find.

MY REVIEW: My mother-in-law & I arrived for a late lunch on a Mon. afternoon. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a cup of seafood gumbo & shared a blackened crawfish poboy. The gumbo arrived luke warm and the rice was a bit crunchy. The friendly waitress offered hot gumbo, but we turned it down & she removed it from the bill w/o a pbm. I think the fries were leftover from the lunch rush. BUT the poboy was big & yummy! There was heat w/o the sweat and the dressing was creamy. We'll give it 1 more try at dinner.

NEWS: Owners changed the name from Louie's Raw Bar & Grill to Crabbydaddy Seafood & Steak House.
MY REVIEW: We've eaten here several times before and the food was GREAT. Great wait staff. This last time, however, the food was not quite up to par. We got there around 7:15 or so, and the place was packed...most likely due to the live band playing on the patio. We're chalkin' up the poor food quality to the likely overloaded kitchen.
We'll definitely be back, and we plan on going back on a Friday night...the jazz band was AWESOME! The patio is great on nights like this when the weather is "just right" and we hung around longer than we normally would...the atmosphere was perfect.

MY REVIEW: We've been twice; once on a busy Saturday night and once on a decidedly quiet Thursday night.
Saturday was wonderful! The calamari was quite simply the tastiest thing I've had the pleasure of snacking on before a meal. The crab fingers are excellent, and even the little things like hush puppies were done perfectly. Louie's easily beat out any other seafood place I've ever been.
Thursday was another story. We had a wonderful waitress who even pre-emptively sent back our fried shrimp (they were overcooked; we only know because she explained the delay). Everything was still very good, but it was definitely down a notch from the busier Saturday night. The hush puppies were gritty; the calamari was a little rubbery but still tasty; things like that. There were only two other tables at the time. Maybe it's easier to keep the quality up when you're busy.
Will go again, but will probably wait until a busy Friday or Saturday to make sure we get the best. :)

MY REVIEW: Food is very good with many, many specials. If there is something you want that is not on the menu just tell them and they will fix it for you. The staff is wonderful - Efficient and friendly. I have taken many friends here to eat and have never been disappointed. We have enjoyed the live bands that play weekly and when it is just my husband and I we enjoy eating inside at a corner table or at the bar. It is a very laid back atmosphere where you can eat good food and have a good time.
I highly recommend it!

MY REVIEW: I love this place! My husband and I sit at the bar and eat until we are stuffed! The Sauteed Crab finger appatizer is the best around. Crab is always fresh and it is sauteed in a butter white wine sauce. They always have great specials and if you want, you can buy your fish next door and have them cook it how you want it.
It is one of the best places to have fried oysters or a grilled salmon. It maybe pricy but what good fresh seafood restaurnat isn't???

MY REVIEW: quote from a reviewer below: "there was a woman 2 table rows back wearing ear-plugs"
I'm ear-plug lady. I wear them a lot. A lot. Like to the grocery store, and sometimes just sitting around my house on the off chance someone decides to ring the doorbell. I have chronic headaches, so if I want to live life, earplugs are a must. My earplugs were in no way indicative of the music level at Louie's, as I need them at just about every restaurant regardless of whether they have live music or not. That said, if the music were TOO loud, earplugs wouldn't make a bit of difference, and I'd be unable to attend.
My husband and I take every available opportunity to go to Louie's. We make an effort to get in Rhonda's section - she's always friendly, knows exactly what's going on in the kitchen and is honest about what's good on the menu that night. Our five-year-old can get great food, and we can get excellent seafood dishes whether we're in the mood for fancy (lump crab meat florentine) or down-home (fried catfish with hush puppies). If friends want to go out, Louie's is always the first place we suggest.

MY REVIEW: This was my first time at Louie's but i really liked it! I went on a Friday night with my wife. Our server, Laurie I think, was nothing but pleasant and attentive. With the live music, jazz of sorts and the fresh seafood specials our server described I wanted a piece of them all ! I had a wonderful time and the food was excellent, it didn't take a long time to get, our wine and water glasses were always full (very important to me) oh and oysters really are good year round ! Try the sockeye salmon and the crab dip, and make sure you get there early for a seat on the patio for the music. The last thing I remember was being told by my server to come back and see her...........We definitely will!

MY REVIEW: My husband and I were at Spec's Liquor Store on Rayford and I-45 and heard live music coming from across Rayford Road. We saw an attractive outdoor cafe and decided to visit. We'd seen the sign "Woodland's Seafood Market", but had no idea there was a restaurant next to it which we later learned was called "Louie's Raw Bar & Grill", owned by the same people.
Parking was a little difficult and we had to park at the other end of the strip center, but it was worth the walk. We were immediately greeted by a hostess who offered us seating on the patio or indoors. We opted for a patio seat. A young man waited on us and aroused our appetites with six or seven specials. We were amazed by the offerings which included Pompano with a Burre Blanc sauce topped with Lump Crab meat, Grilled Halibut topped with Avocado Chipotle sauce with shrimp and crawfish, and I can't recall the others but they all sounded as good as the next. I went for the Avocado Chipotle and it was scrumptious. My husband ordered the Alaskan King Crab Leg which was enormous. He devoured it. We stayed for for about 45 minutes after our meal, had a couple of glasses of wine and listened to the band.
The music was fun and festive - a band called "Gumbo" which included a stand-up base, a piano and a drummer, doing some Ray Charles and Charlie Parker tunes. We enjoyed the music and were told by the waiter that Louie's has a "World Class" Jazz band booked every Friday evening. We're going again this Friday night. I am writing this review because my husband and I were so pleasantly surprised by this experience, we wanted to share it.
OVERALL: A thoroughly pleasant experience - Great Food, Great ambience, and friendly staff.

MY REVIEW: I was recommend this place by a friend, and a buddy of mine was craving seafood so we decided to check it out.
PROS: Food is fresh and good (though crawfish are small). Casual, easy-going atmosphere. I went on a Saturday and there was even live music which is a huge plus to me. Outdoor patio-cafe style seating (Great on a nice night!)
CONS: Live music is a plus, but not when it's too loud. Volume could have been lowered just a bit and it would have been perfect. Though I was seated close to the band, there was a woman 2 table rows back wearing ear-plugs.
Service was POOR. It took forever to place our order, AND it took forever to get our check. These are both crucial points to me in service. The checking up on us during the meal was sufficiant though. My order got messed up too, but I blame the volume of the music. I couldn't hear the specials given to us from the waitress so I doubt that she could hear our orders very well. Crawfish are small.
OVERALL:I may consider checking it out again, but given such a high recomendation I expected better service and it makes me hesitant to re-visit based on tonight's experience. Maybe I'll get take out some time to compensate for the service. Food is good (minus small crawfish). I'm not sure it was great, but very good none-the-less and satisfying.

MY REVIEW: I am from Houston and make regular trips to Conroe. I always make it a point to stop for lunch or for the evening happy hour. The boiled shrimp are nice size and priced right during the happy hour, although the specials change. Don't pass up the market for some fresh seafood and meats. Jim

MY REVIEW: Louie's is a great restaurant to relax in and have the freshest seafood in town! I like the lack of pretention that Louie's has because so many Woodlands restaurants are concerned only about the money you are spending. My wife and I like to sit at the bar for ice cold beer and oysters, but you can order anything your heart desires from the market that is connected. I have tried lots of Louie's fare and I am always impressed. My wife has a weakness for crab cakes and Louie's always satisfies her cravings!
Strong points: freshness, variety, knowledgeable staff, great service at the bar or at a table. Also, always clean, good value and impeccable preparation.
Weak points: I'll have to think about this one! Okay, I guess the atmosphere (to some) would be a minus because it is kind of "down home" versus flashy or romantic. I like the sincerity of the place and I get tired of paying for the atmosphere at places that serve mediocre food. None of that BS here.
One thing to mention is that they keep shorter hours that other restaurants. They close an hour earlier than most, even on weekends (10:00 pm).
Oh yeah, lately we've been making a name for ourselves as crawfish eating fools! --Reasonably priced and they're pretty big right now. If you like mud bugs you have atleast one reason to try this gem! My out of town family always requests Louie's for their seafood fix-- Because they are from the midwest they are always in awe (and jealous) of the availability of fresh seafood here in Texas.
Go and Enjoy!!!!!! ****

MY REVIEW: I am wondering what Louie's "The Deacon" ate at! I am sorry to hear that his experience at Louie's was poor, but I have to say that I dine out frequently and LOVE to got to Louie's. It is definitely not priced like Long John S*ilver's, but I am a stickler for value and have never felt like I was getting anything less than the best! I have tried just about everything on the menu and I would like to give everyone my recommedations. You won't be disappointed with any of the following items:
Appetizers: Oysters on the half or fried-- Always super fresh and shucked right in front of you, they also have other types of oysters in the market (besides Gulf).
Oyster Rockafeller-- If you are a fan, these are to die for! Huge portion, sooo worth the price, 6 large oysters, generous amounts of crab meat and hollandaise.
Sauteed crab claws-- Delicious, I got on a kick for a while. They cost 1.00 more but the portion is big and you get garlic bread to soak up the white creamy sauce, fried is also yummy.
Mussels in wine sauce-- Simple and very tasty, just what you would expect, a white wine sauce with garlic lemon and decent size mussels, and also bread.
ENTREES My favorites are the Lump crab florentine, a ribeye steak, )USDA prime cuts from the market), Fisherman's platter for a very large portion and variety of fried seafood. Other hits: Mahi caesar, Louie's seafood pasta, and shrimp brochette.
I do want to mention that there is a lunch and dinner menu. The lunch menu is awesome, everthing is under $10, and it's a pretty good variety. I always get the cold seafood salad. It's a lot of seafood and a really great dressing, creamy basil-- Almost like a pesto taste. Sometimes I'll have a burger with no bun, or just appetizers for lunch. Lunch ends at three, then it's dinner. I'm never really there for happy hour but I see the signs and they run some good specials. If I ever want lobster I wait til Wednesday night and get a dinner for 13.99 a pound, that's unbeatable as far as lobster goes.
Dessert: limited selection, Key lime pie is what I like, but the cheese cake is homemade and very good!
I like to pick out fish from the market and get them to cook it however I feel that day, usually broiled or grilled. The servers always recommend dishes and specials, and for a small place, they have a good and reasonable wine selection. If you like liquor they don't sell it but you can bring in whatever you want. I love that! I am a big wine drinker and I bring my own bottles. I just love this local treasure and I hate to see it get a bad name! The atmosphere is not the focus, it's the food! As a "foodie" I can appreciate that and I hope others will too!
Everything is always up to par and the service is very homey and casual, you are served like family versus customer.

MY REVIEW: First and last time, at 12:30 we were the only customers a comlete overpriced disaster. The only thing posditive was that it was clean. The food quality had to reach some to qualify as mediocre but still was more expensive than P*APPAS.

MY REVIEW: I always enjoy the food at Louie's. It's the freshest seafood that I have ever eaten and there isn't anything that they don't have. I would definitely recommend checking out the market next door before you go the the resturant so if there is something that you don't see on the menu then you can just go next door and pick what you want out. I would recommend Louie's to all the seafood lover's. I can't wait to come home to visit so I can go to Louie's.

MY REVIEW: Absolutely the freshest seafood in Montgomery County!!! Louie's has a great atmosphere, they treat everyone like family. We started our meal with lobster bisque, it was creamy and wonderful. I had the crabcakes. They came out and were stuffed full of jumbo lump crabmeat, the best I've had outside of Baltimore. My wife had the fried shrimp, they were Light and crispy. The fries were great, and the hushpuppies were the best we've ever had. We ended our meal by sharing some of their homemade cheesecake. It was New York style, and was also great. I highly recommend Louie's to everyone.

MY REVIEW: Excellent food and great service. The freshest seafood that you could possibly consume since they are associated with The Woodlands Seafood Co. next door. If one doesn't see anything on the menu that's appealing, one can go next door to the market and choose whatever they want. Yesterday, the menu did not excite me so I went to the market and picked out a Chilean Sea Bass. I had it seared in a lemon-butter-garlic sauce served along with rosemary roasted potatoes and steamed veggies. The house chardonnay complimented the meal. The only complaint that I have about Louie's, is that they don't serve espresso
