MY REVIEW: This place is great! Great! The carnitas fritas are the best. Plentiful, delicious food and very good prices. Yes, sometimes the service is a bit slow, but the food more than compensates. My only regret is that I am moving from the Galleria to inside the Loop and will not be able to visit as often as I would like.

MY REVIEW: What can I say? The food is excellent! They have the best guacamole salad at the table of any other Mexican restaurant in town. Sometimes, it can be a little too spicy, but it is fabulous. I generally order the beef fajitas or the beef enchiladas and they are always wonderful. Sometimes, I have gotten the stuffed avacado. Generally, I visit this restaurant with a group of about 10 people and we all get different items and no one walks away hungry, displeased. I have to say too that I really like their salsa and chips, especially the fact that the red salsa is served warm and spicy. I love salsa that is served warm. Their tortillas are freshly made and very light and tasty. Reminds me of the homemade tortillas I grew up with in South Texas.
I would visit Los Cucos more often if it were closer to where I live, but love going when a group of us are going out.
Most of the time, the service is great. On occasion, something might be lacking, but they quickly correct it, and get you what you need. The waitstaff do everything possible to make your eating exeperience flow.

MY REVIEW: We went to Los Cucos to celebrate our mom's 80th birthday. I called the manager Tony and ask for a table for 10..he said he would have everything ready when we got there. We arrived and were treated like my mom was royalty. We had a nice table set-up in a side room that was just prefect for a celebration. Our waiter Juan went above and beyond excellent service for our family...down to the last details of finding a candle to put on the cake we brought and then getting the entire waitstaff and managers to sing happy birthday to MOM. The food was outstandig...everyone had something different and all were happy with what they ordered. If you have a special event coming up I highly recommend Los Cucos at 5851 Westheimer...they will make you feel like you are the only people in the place and you are SPECIAL.

MY REVIEW: We were seated in a side room with what was essentially a "private happy hour party". There were about 25-30 people at one table and the three of us at another table. The large party was VERY LOUD and we could not even have a conversation at our table. After a fairly unpleasant dinner due to the noise (food was OK), I mentioned my concern to the manager about being seated in small room with what was essentially a private party. He said it was not a "private party" and they thought only six people were coming. I told him that there were at least 25 people at the table when we were seated in the room. The manager was unconcerned and rather dismissive. While it may have been an unusual event, I will never go there again.

MY REVIEW: Great food, love the warm chips and the avocado salsa, as well as the tomato salsa, the tortillas are homemade and you can't go wrong no matter what you order. It is very authentic Mexican food. No wonder they are springing up all around Houston. We always get great service by everyone there. My favorite dish is the 'Enchiladas Verdes'. It is a dish of chicken rolled in corn tortillas and covered in tomatillo sauce and shredded Monterrey cheese, served with rice and refried beans. Love it.

MY REVIEW: I really wanted to like this place and I gave is two trys. The food is very good. The fajita meat is good. The salsa is warmed. The problem is the service. It was very weak the first time we went. We went again this week at 1:30 pm on a Wednesday. It was not crowded at all and plenty of waitstaff doing everything but helping. We had to ask a passerby for water, then had to ask to order, had to ask againg for a refill on the first glass of water and tehn ask for the check. This is all while we wait to find someone to ask. There really needs to be a manager on site to tell the plethora of waitstaff and busboys to refill the water and tea glasses rather than working on re plating tables with plates and napkins. Go See Jorge at M*olinas and you will not be dissapointed.

MY REVIEW: I want to let everyone know what great service we received at Los Cucos Mexican Cafe the one @5851 Westheimer Rd. My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary along with 25 of our family and friends, on Saturday, January 10, 2009. I made the arrangements with manager Erica Benitez she did a wonderful job. They had the room set up at the time of 6pm. which was the time we were to start.
Our waiter in charge was Joel Benavidez; he was excellent. He made sure everything ran smoothly. He was patient with all of us. Our beverages never ran out. He also made sure our food was warm when it was served, no easy task because of all the speeches that were made. The food was excellent. The fajitas (chicken and beef) were tender and not dried up. The beans and Mexican rice tasted like Mexican food. There was even a Mariachi there that was able to sing some songs for my husband and me. He also sang for the other couples in our group. It was a wonderful experience.
They do not know our names at the restaurant; however we go here a lot. The reason I chose Los Cucos is because this is where my son had his engagement party and it turned out great. I thought I do my anniversary here and I am glad I did. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in just dining out or holding a celebration. Thank you

MY REVIEW: The staff doesn't know my name but we do go quite often to ALL of the cucos restaurants in particular the Pearland location. I read a review "luvee" left and honestly I think she might have the wrong restaurant. This is as authentic and genuine tasting mexican food as it gets and I know authentic and genuine! The food is consistant every time we have been and the taste impeccable! Everything is fresh. When a restaurant can make you CORN tortillas hand rolled and have them taste as if they came from a Tortilleria from Mexico you know you have hit pay dirt for Mexican restaurants. I recommend this highly to everyone looking for a terrific meal and a reasonable price.

MY REVIEW: My cousin hosted a book club and our meal was catered by Los Cucos. We had chicken & beef fajita, green sauce, salsa, guacamole, queso, chips, rice, and beans. I eat out pretty often and I love Mexican food. I can honestly say that those fajitas were the best I've ever had! I made sure to get the name of this restaurant because I will definitely be going there to eat! I went home and told my husband that on our next night out we must go get fajita from Los Cucus! I was so full when I left my cousin's house. She gave my sister and myself food to take home and it was just as good the next day. They have earned a customer for life!

MY REVIEW: We went to celebrate my friend's bday today and the restaurant wasn't that busy. granted we did have a big party, but the inside temperature was hot. The food wasn't that great and being Mexican doesn't come close to being authentic. The good points, the salsa and the regular margaritas although they put too much salt. I ordered the taco and soup and opted for the tortilla soup. It was PURE mushroom and tortilla strips. I asked if I could just get the chicken soup because I do not like mushrooma and tortilla normally doesn't have mushrooms. Well, they took my plate back and brought back chicken soup without my taco. The soup had no flavor and the chicken was actually dry. How can chicken be dry in soup?? It took about 45 minutes for me to get a margarita. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!

MY REVIEW: Los Cucos is the greatest!! My favorite is their Stuffed Chicken Fried Avocado's Yummy!!!! I'll be back for more! My sister lives in Houston and we eat there at least twice during our week stay. They eat there on a regular basis. Five people ate for the LOW LOW price of $68.00 and that included our drinks including 1 margarita. Our Plates were loaded with food. You never go away hungry and always take home leftovers. No long wait and great service. My favorite Mexican Restaurant by far!! Nothing like that in Arkansas.

MY REVIEW: I think it's hard to find good authentic mexican food. Los Cucos comes very close. The menu is endless. It literally will take time for you to decide what to eat, which is always a good thing. I hate restaurants that have four item on their menu. The atmosphere is awesome, the service is great, and the cost is affordable, especially for the quality of the food. It's heaven for your taste buds!

MY REVIEW: My first visit to Los Cucos. I seen the place on the way to work. This past Saturday I tried it out with a couple friends. The first thing I noticed was the HUGE menu they had. I couldnt decide what to eat! And the prices were very cheap (Averaging about $9 a plate there). I would say for the $$$ the food was very good. Food came out very quickly and very HOT!!! I will dine there again soon.

MY REVIEW: Moved here from California and visited this restaurant in the woodlands twice. The first time we had great food, the service was fast and the food was good. Got a margarita that ended up costing $14.oo without waiter telling us, was very upset. Second visit we were seated immideately and had to wait for our server and drinks for 10 min. ordered our food and had a long wait. The order was wrong and we do not like the homemade flour tortillas they are thick and stale. The best was the carne asada. Will return but not so quick. We will try our options in the area and see if there is a place with great and friendly cust.service like we are used to from California.

MY REVIEW: I've been to 2 different Los Cucos and would not go back to any of them. Service is slow, order was messed up. Queso was thick and cold. The 2nd time, I went to a new one by my house on Jones. I read all these great reviews and thought I should try them again. I felt safe ordering fajitas...big mistake. They were overcooked and tough. I'm with the guy that said they wouldn't go back if the meal was free. Even the smaller mexican restaurants have better service and food.
